Down playing to not start mass panic is fine. Telling Woodward you realize its more dangerous than severe flu and could be dire only to call it a hoax two days later aren't the same.

Nancy Pelosi is a very powerful individual and doesn't give two ***** about any of us. None of these ******** do. The sooner we figure that out the better. The cult of trump has only served to make us more tribal.

I am not #TeamChina but I do think there are some folks that need to be locked inside and have their internet privileges taken away.

I made an effort to watch an NBA game- It just didnt work out. Couldnt get into it. What;s important though, is that I tried.

Here is a 10-ton bronze cock that USCarolina is putting in front of their football stadium. I want to make fun of it but I remember when we put double-wides throughout the parking lot and had the nerve to call them 'tailgate houses"

Good on you Krazy for the new rye release. Best of luck with it.

Maybe its asking too much but I kinda think the NCAA owes it to the players whose eligibility is up in the air- to decided either way on their cases.

The number of people who freely spill their unfiltered guts to Bob Woodward is amazing to me.

"Hey, man, I want to write a book about you - can I hang out a bit? Maybe do some interviews? By the way, I helped bring down a President."

"Oh, sure, Bob - how much stupid **** do you want me to say directly to you while you're recording it? Just let me know. This will be fine."

Also, I, too, am shocked that someone would want to release a book about the President in the months before an election. It's almost like the author and his publisher think the increased political interest will help sales. Morons!

Well I can tell that a lot of people have been persuaded this morning to see the insights of the other side of the political aisle. I'm glad we could have this moment in GYERO where we all learned something.

Our president also claims to have saved MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of lives with his early actions.

Let’s just take everything he says with a grain of salt. He’s an idiot.
There were estimates of 2 million or more deaths. Kind of akin to Presidents claiming they created x amount of jobs coming out of a recession even though those jobs were people going back to the same jobs they had before.

Randoms...in case we still do those...

:: In case you haven't noticed...the NFL is back tonight. Complete with about $90 million worth of starting quarterbacks. Yeah...I'm just going to have to get over it and realize defense as I've come to know it will never be played again.

:: Very glad to see that this Thursday game is on NBC. We cut the cord and one of the consequences is no NFL Network. I'm sure I can figure that out once I put some effort toward it.

:: That and I miss Kay Adams in the morning. Shew.

:: Pandemic consequence ---> I'm in WAY too many fantasy football leagues this year. I love playing on Sleeper, but since it's an app on my phone I found myself getting into draft after draft. It's way too addictive and easy. I may need an intervention.

:: Maybe tonight's game will kick me into gear for the upcoming college football season. I'm pretty unenthusiastic considering that this is the deepest Kentucky roster in half a century. I think it's due to whatever happens this season being marked with an asterisk and a notation that several teams didn't play. I'm also not going to the stadium. Yes, it's my choice and I'm going to live with it. However, even if I did and I was one of the chosen 12,000 the lack of tailgating and noise/vibe in the stadium would be huge let downs. CFB is one huge bummer to me right now.

:: During the pandemic we began saving our veggie scraps...peels, ends, shrapnel, ect...and freezing them. They were taking over, so over the long weekend I threw all those in a stock pot with some water, a whole chicken and some scraps we saved along the way. Five hours later we have about two gallons of liquid gold that will turn into chili, grits, gumbo, etouffee, risotto...you get the idea. That is what good cooking is to me. Taking a bunch of "trash" and turning it into something awesome.

:: Ooni folks...are they worth it? Pizza is H's absolute favorite and I know he would get into creating his own. I think the three of us would have a blast on a "pizza night." Even though our gas oven is great it doesn't get hot enough for good pizza. Once we close on the old house I'm thinking about taking the plunge...and yes, the "family pizza night" is how I'm selling it to the wife.

:: RIP Diana Rigg (Lady Olenna Tyrell). She was great as one of the best characters in the entire GOT series. I had no idea she was also my favorite Bond girl of all time until today. #dumb #old

I'm as big of a proponent of keeping the controversial topics in their message board silo as there is. And I hypocritically started a string of bull **** this morning. My bad. I should've posted in the COVID thread, but I couldn't help myself.

It's fine, dude. This happens every so often. WCC starts a political conversation and we argue for a bit accomplishing nothing.

When you rightwingers decided- against my protests- to let political conversation into this great thread, I warned you. I apologize for nothing.

I pride myself in being a very centered person in my beliefs, fiscally conservative and socially liberal. Trump makes blunder after blunder and his mouth has created so many of his issues which is unfortunate, but its impossible to say he's not done any good while in office because he has. I don't agree with everything he says or does, but I kind of have the same feeling this election as I had 4 years ago. Is this the best we can come up with to pick for a president? Its unfortunate that the election is not about who will be best option, but who's not the worst option.

What does Joe Biden do to make America better than the path we were on before Coronavirus? Yes there were numerous social issues, but those have existed for DECADES/Centuries, and just not the current Presidents fault? Has he done a poor job of helping created unity? Certainly he has, but there hasn't really been a great president at tackling the difficult issue of racial equality since when in recent memory? If you say there has been a great president at racial equality, explain how you came to this?

Economically, the country was in amazing shape before covid and honestly I'm surprised its rebounded as quickly, and as hard as it has with the pandemic continuing to go on. How do you see that Biden is going to make our country's economy better than the direction it was headed?

Sure, several people on here think Trump is evil, the worst president ever, and have very strong negative feelings about him, but why do you think Biden is going to be our better option in this election and what in his track record makes you feel so strongly about that?

I'm here trying to understand those of you who are voting for Biden, not point out Trumps mistakes.

Clearly you didn’t read it. Wouldn’t worry about it though as you probably couldn’t digest it.

Keep playing doctor and epidemiologist on GYERO though, you seem to enjoy and have all the answers.
I didn't. I stopped at The Atlantic website and, "Why have Republican leaders abandoned their principles in support of an immoral and dangerous president? If it doesn't do that, then let me know, and I'll read the other 10k words.

Also, the armchair epidemiologist argument is so tired and ignorant. Takes more than a virologist to navigate a pandemic. For instance we have a bunch of mediocre former lawyers making decisions for our states. I guess law school prepped them better to understand the virus.

-op-ed piece gonna op-ed. Unlike Chase and prolly every other person in this thread...ive read/am a fan of milosz...as i have/am with all anti-communist writers and such. Applebaum is cherry-picking and skewing things to her opinion...as all good polemicists are wont to do. It impresses some "types" but there ain't much weight to it.

-she references a few other folks and their experiences with authoritarian figures...ima have to check em out.

My takeaway from skimming the first part of the article - Democrats prefer Republicans who can be appealed to through emotions and not ones that are willing use their tactics against them as Trump is wont* to do.

*Thanks Rudd.

Hey guys, NCAA announced it has no plans to expand the NCAA-T.

Suck it, ACC....

#sportsoverpolitics
Was a strange twist for them to suggest that. Just wanted to beat the B10 to the punch I guess.

Didn't read their plan but I assume it eliminated conference tournaments for this year which is a big money maker.

Also not an infectious disease specialist, or epidemiologist. Did have some virus training and research back in college. I think Anth has done a fine job with the Covid takes, find myself agreeing with him. Now if he could roll that energy and enthusiasm into cooking a steak properly...

What Trump knew back in February was the same information that Dr Fauci probably told him. Fauci has said on record several times that when he told Trump they needed to do something, they did it.

Potus caught holy hell for shutting off travel to China, Biden and the left with their classic painting of xenophobia and isms, and then oh that happened to be a good idea...so please GTFO with those oh the Democrats would have handled it so much better takes. Wrong.

We flattened the curve, that’s what we were supposed to do. Hospitals were not over run, except maybe in New York. Nobody that needed a ventilator didn’t get one.

It’s a new virus folks, there was no vaccine or proven treatment. Maintain good hygiene, social distance, try and stay healthy...

I'll put my prestigious University of Louisville MBA up against any of y'alls silly *** medical degrees.

If anyone needs to know epidemiology, just ask me.

I was sure Kyle Lowery would be at best a role player in the NBA.

I’m pretty sure that makes me qualified to be an NBA GM. See ya later, posers.
I thought/said Steph Curry shouldn’t be a high pick because he was another Eddie House.
