Shocking.

Some pasty pale white, awkward looking individual ( is that a man or a woman) who looks like she sits inside her basement 99% of the time.

Stay woke.

It's actually a "he" per the Transy faculty page, Richie. Christ.

I know this will come as a shock to most of you but I already emailed my alma mater with concerns over this issue and received a fairly decent reply along the lines of "every student who qualifies deserves fair and equal treatment yada yada yada and should not face any unfair biased treatment unless they break rules or cause harm to others yada yada yada".

We'll see.

- Lots of northern KY kids back in my day. Ryle, Cov Cath, etc.. Maybe it's my age showing but college life didn't feel toxic like it is today. Being a wet campus helped get us through living in the "bubble", I think.. RA's would drink with you and let you be in the residential halls long as you didn't abuse it. Back Circle sand volleyball during May Term. Tunes blaring. Those were fun times. Place has completely changed now.

SAE had it right, per usual.
Think I'm literally and figuratively drawing the line on my progressiveness at the transgendered. You know, that line some of our grandparents probably discovered when the world passed them by with civil rights, and they just accepted that they couldn't change/didn't understand it, so go on without them? That line.

Going to be old transgender-insensitive SAE for the rest of my days, folks... Enlightenment just isn't going to happen for me with this one. I don't/won't get it. Too much 20th Century in me.

The alums need to start holding universities accountable for hiring freak shows. Studying "Contested Masculinity" is mental masturbation. It doesn't do anybody any good. What a waste of resources.

$40,000 a year to learn about it, Wayne. Must be important 🤮.

I've heard a lot of professors talk about how sports are ******** and need to be reigned in, etc... But I've never once seen a professor discuss the outlandish cost to attend their classes or their ********, criminally absurd prices for textbooks.

Actually, I'm all about transpeople being treated like people, etc. There is some legitimate gender dysphoria and it seems absolutely awful for those people. At the same time, that is a small part of the population.

How did that even become a cause celebre? I guess it does just because (like COVID) it splits people into easily identified groups for politicians to then ***** to.

Just bizarre.

It’s almost like higher education is functioning in a non sustainable bubble held up purely by the fact that it’s all being funded by loans that are immune from bankruptcy. The second that detail is challenged or altered in anyway the entire university system is going to completely collapse.
Wild, BU was 12-15K when I went there. 42k this year. Lol. That's just ridiculous. Especially with like 75% of the kids graduating with generic(or teaching) degrees.

Avery Tompkins may soon find out just how far his/her degrees will take him/her when colleges and universities enter into budget crises and it comes time to seek employment that does not involve the regurgitation of extreme leftist nonsense into some ******** "journal" no one reads.

I love UK, but there is no effing way it's worth what kids pay to go there now. Teaching my kids the fine art of grifting and working on our $5 million Tic Tok dance.
12k for in state? That's not terrible considering the landscape. I mean, private school kindergarten isn't far off and a few places in down are nearly double that.

I think that 12K gets you access to the classes. Everything else like food and shelter etc is where it starts to add up. Also, “fees”.

Ah, yes. The moment a child graduates from high school, the burden of “food” and “shelter” becomes necessary for survival. Previously these pesky needs were free.

$5k to go to BCTCS.
$13k to go to UK.

Add up 4 years of that, and it’s a pretty damn good deal.
Still value in an education, bubba. It's just not for everyone, and parents need to step in if they're kids are going into debt at a 40k per year Liberal Arts school to get a BA in Sociology. Of course, no way our HS guidance councilors are going to step in and give good advice.

Good point. Since we don’t plan on moving my kid can commute to college just like everyone else. Same for everyone else in the state/country.

I agree with this. And I'm open to understanding the issues, but so far I just don't "get it." Probably need someone to explain it to me like I'm 5 because I'm not going to learn about it through twitter diatribes and guilt trips that have no association to me.

I feel attacked "other then the sociology part"

Unfortunately neither of my parents went to college so I was flying blind.
