Do you like meth heads? If so, it’s a great option.

Ouch
Good data point - duly noted

I’ve never been up there but my lovely bride noted a House there that seems like a good deal and nice layout -

sounds like a good drive thru may alter her perception on that one -

the townhouse lease runs to March but we have a unique situation where Merrick mgmt may grant an early out in October so...house hunting heating up again....

Housing market in Lexington’s area is — strange

it’s strange...

You need a place with some land near the river.

I’ve been way in front as an outspoken “gender reveal parties are dumb and should be stopped” and I’ll just sit back here with a hot cup of “told you so”.

A gender reveal sparked a wildfire in California that's grown to 7,000 acres
https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/07/us/california-fire-el-dorado-gender-reveal-trnd/index.html

Gender reveal parties are dumb.

Gender reveal parties with pyrotechnics are dumb and trashy.

Gender reveal parties with pyrotechnics in a September heat wave in southern California during fire season, in a highly fire-prone area, are criminal. Literally.

I got a bottle of SmokeWagon Uncut/Unfiltered. A lot of proof and flavor for the price. MGP juice but barreled in Nevada (Dave Pickerell). Surprised by complexity.

Nice.

-Absolutely smoked this weekend on horsey gambol. Haven't been that cold in a few years. Just couldn't get anything going. Oh well, we had a fun little <10 (GGP AB) gathering. Made the most of it but hopefully the last time I deal with that on Derby Weekend.

-Shout out to the rioters for not destroying our city on it's most important day. Very respectable.

-Virtual B2BC this weekend. Yet another bummer in this dumb time. If you feel like donating -> CLICK HERE

-New burger press worked so much better for smash burgers. No more searing my knuckles.

-Took the weekend from most political and covid talk, really good call. Not going to ignore it moving forward but certainly chill tf out. It's all exhausting.

-Watched Cobra Kai over the last week. Lol, what a great show. For some reason it's not what I expected at all but I really enjoyed it.

-CFB has been ****** so far. Ready for some real teams to play.

-Speaking of rioters, I'm sure most of you saw this, but it's been making me laught for 2 days. The music is perfect. -

Fun weekend, went by way too fast.

Highlights were streaming the derby on the water, dockside blackstone steaks, but all that was upstaged by some maniac in a white helicopter.

This guy (An alleged dry wall contractor) put on a show in fishing creek that thankfully didn’t end in disaster. He skimmed the tree line, chopped a few branches, then dropped about 500 ft over a bunch of boats and hovered about 5 feet off the water, rotor wash blasting away, before taking back off, flying under high wires, and finally gtfo. I mean, it’s one thing if you wanna kill yourself, but taking about 30 boats with you isn’t cool man. Just saying.

Quick week, ready for some real football.

* I'm used to seeing a burnt out, barren desert of a lawn this time of year. Plants / bushes / lawn still healthy and green thanks to one of the mildest summers I can recall. Go ahead and sign me up for every Memorial - Labor Day like this past season.

* Saw Tenant last night with a total of 6-7 folks in an IMAX theater, which essentially feels like you have the place to yourself. And Nolan is a genius. Feel like it deserves a rewatch to pick up on all the subtleties like Inception.

* Can't get worked up one bit about the attendance policy. A) seems like it mirrors every other SEC school and B) if someone wants to go, I'm sure they'll be able to attend a game(s).

* The Slugger Museum bat was doused with a can of paint but yeah, definitely tame when compared to the random destruction that happened this summer with far less involved.

* Big Hilltopper fan this week.

* Does mineral water really work?

Went to a travel baseball game in Ft Thomas Saturday and thought "I believe ol' wcc lives around here somewhere." Glance at the centerfield wall and see a huge Schwalbach Construction sign. Not sure of the connection, but Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon has NOTHING on Six Degrees of GYERO. Lost 10-0, but still. Very nice area. And if you're not religious, ride shotgun while your 16 year old kids drive the 71-75-275-471 roundtrip; you will be religious after.

I like Nolan but was not a fan of Inception. I know we all love Dark Knight and rightfully so. But Dunkirk is his masterpiece.

- Chicken thighs have become the grilling/smoking/slow-cooking MVP of summer. Unreal how good those things are, with even minimal effort.

- For Cal's sake, Reed Sheppard either needs to be a no-brainer 4/5-star kid with tons of high-major offers, or a universally-accepted low/mid-major prospect that would be best-suited for OVC, Sun Belt, etc. Because the first-ever prospect born to two Kentucky basketball stars (at least, that I know) could be a real headache for the staff, pressure-wise, if he's anywhere in between. His dunks are pretty solid for a 6-1 sophomore, to be sure.

- Really enjoying Ryan Holiday's books on ancient philosophy, and his podcast as well. His work is taking the sports world by storm, especially the NFL and college football. Fascinating stuff.

- Found out this morning that a former co-worker is on a ventilator due to COVID. Late 50's, a bit overweight but not crazy-obese, and (to my knowledge) no underlying issues. Stark reminder that the thing is real, especially coming on the heels of a weekend that felt the most like a "normal" weekend since the pandemic started.

- Freshly-painted front porch, new outside lighting fixtures, dishwasher repaired and working like new....high times around the Llama compound these days. Of course, now the dryer is on the blink. It's always something, I guess.

- Fellas...it's time for a Diet Mt. Dew.

William Zabka deserved an Emmy or something. Glad it found a wider audience moving to Netflix. Looking forward to S3.

I read the sound mixing on Tenet is terrible making it hard to hear and understand a lot of the dialog. I can't bring myself to go to the theater yet.

The Prestige might be my favorite Nolan film.

Gender reveal party setting California on fire seems normal to me.

Memento is right up there on the shortlist of movies I don't want to admit I've never seen. It's supposedly crazy good.

-My K Fund Point Number is in the very low 4000s in K Fund Ranking and still down think I'm going to make the cut. There's a friend of my wife's family who owns a big business in Pikeville and has 75 football tickets in his name. We have 9 tickets ourselves. I'm guessing most have 4, and with 4000 people in front of me that's a minimum of 16,000 tickets (20% Attendance =12,000 tickets). How many tickets are they going to keep for students? If you're not an Anth or Todd MFin Harris, your chances of getting in are pretty slim too.

With our first home game against Ole Miss less than a month away, I wish they would go ahead and just make the call so we can get a game plan together. Football season has always been my favorite time of the year, and I'm so happy they are playing first and foremost, but either tell me I'm getting my tickets, or send me my money back. How much interest are they making on all that money sitting in their account before refunds?

-I know of a few dudes in Versailles who have helicopters and house boats on Cumberland, often flying down there instead of driving. More than likely DrBoat, whoever it was is a Woodford Countian.

-Dove Shoot was a success. Limited out within an hour. 3 more planned this week at different clients farms. Not a better type of hunting for me as its pretty social, you can drink beer while doing it, talk loudly to your buddies next to you, and blast birds nonstop and the keep coming back for more. None of the problems you have with Deer hunting.

-Jeep weather.

-Always felt Gruden was a total headcase. Happy Lynn will have a better opportunity to focus on playing his nature position in Miami as opposed to be forced to workout with the QB group, RB group, and WR group. Just get him the ball and get the F out of the way.

-Been house hunting for over a year in Versailles and have seen absolutely nothing that checks all the boxes. Had a multiple people ask about us selling our house, wanting to buy, but where the hell would we move to. When something remotely close comes on the market, its under contract in 10 minutes. Contemplating just building at this point, but not sure if I would be able to stay married through the process or not.

-Online school is a "F"ing waste of time. This generation of kids will be more dumb than the Antifa generation we are seeing now.

-Oh yeah, and Happy Birthday BBdK, you a$$hole you. Hope you have a great day bud.

Prestige is a personal favorite on my very modest list of movies that I genuinely enjoyed

tenet looked like it was going to touch on one or two of my favorite themes / technology ‘concepts’ - so I fully had planned to catch that one in theater if possible....but I have some misgivings now ...probably bias ....hope to hear from ppl who have seen it

Weather is giving me the joy

I traveled to kettle island , Kentucky TWICE this weekend.....didn’t see that coming

(Upset that their roads are better than middlesboro’s)

planning to attend middlesboro and pikeville football games this season

wood-shedding in guitar right now - playing music at a three day event on Norris lake next weekend

(an event that I was temporarily banned from for four years so - it’s gotta be good!)

I don’t understand how Nolan always screws up the sound mixing. He is missing some QA/QC triggers in not accounting for the variance from his perfect setup in the editing bay to the 1000’s of actually crappy and not perfectly calibrated theater set ups around the world.

Related: I wish there was a hybrid offering wherein you could listen with your own Bluetooth headphones and still have the theater pumping out the bass to feel it. BUT THAT’S JUST ME.

Because they move and others move and they don’t want to keep taking the masks on and off every time they do get close to someone else?

No. I’m taking about my neighbor who had a friend over last night. Her friend had to stay on the sidewalk 10 yards away while my neighbor stayed on her screened on porch. They both had masks on. Granted she’s been tweaked out about Covid for the last 7 months running.

She won’t come outside with her kid until my kids and the other neighbor’s kids are inside for the evening.

It’s ok to sit at a restaurant table without a mask 6 feet from other tables. As long as you’re eating or drinking. But if you’re walking around and 6 feet from others, probably need to wear a mask.

Because that’s what SCIENCE tells us.

ANDY going to allow tailgating or will he allow the collateral damage of people crowding into indoor bars or restaurants before/after games to happen?
