Can’t really say I remember anything about a shattered toilet.

Not really sure why WilliamJ is so assured I have shattered toilet story, is that a common theme amongst you GYERO’ers?

Actually, now that I think about it that was my buddies that shattered the toilet (fireworks). They stole their neighbors which I thought may have been you. They had a nut that lived across the street which could have been you too.

That adjuster probably got a nice little bonus for f*cking you all so hard.

Not really your fault though, they love to take advantage of people who don’t know how it works (which is about 100% of young people).

Signed,
The side that fu@ks you if the insurance co doesn't.

Don't you just leave the water running when you need a new kitchen?

Or never clean your 20 year old stove, like my brother and SIL, and it eventually catches on fire. Got a whole new kitchen, dining room, and fresh paint through out the house. Hell he was even excited to find out whatever “work” he did on the remodel that the insurance company would reimburse him at an hourly wage Joke is on him though when those new premiums start coming in.

Here in TX the distributors are starting to run out of their summer selections and have moved on to fall.

I have a client in the booze business who called us in January saying they need help diversifying as alcohol is flat. They called us back this summer and said “change of plans, we need help growing capacity. This is the golden age of booze sales!”.

My point is, KrazyKats might be the richest guy I know now thanks to Covid.

I’ve been called an insensitive prick before, so take this with a grain of salt. But I believe if you OD’d and died during the lockdown, you were probably going to OD and die at some point in the near future anyway. Furthermore, there are significantly fewer traffic fatalities during Covid, and the air quality has been better. So I don’t think there’s this big pool of deaths caused by the shutdown, especially compared to the actual Covid deaths.

It’s often been said that the American culture is shameful in its treatment of elders. We disregard their opinions, don’t take their advice, and throw them in nursing homes. In the culture I grew up in everyone would stand when the eldest family member enters the room, and they would be revered. But this response to COVID has proven that completely wrong. The US response to this has sacrificed the young for the old, as we have negatively effected everyone under 70. As a matter of fact, if you’re under 70 you should be as scared of this disease as Tuberculosis. WTF is going on and why is this still happening. Am I taking crazy pills?

They're estimating around 35-40000 lockdown related deaths. That's not including the huge number of missed cancer diagnoses. The long term toll COULD be much larger than virus deaths.

I'll tell Gummi that maxxxpower doesn't understand why he hides his identity when presenting realistic numbers. Hint, so he doesn't get fired.

Meh. 12 Step meetings and mental health counseling have been dramatically effected by the COVID shutdowns. Most addicts need structure and positive interpersonal interaction to stay sober. Pretty easy to see how shutting down the lower level jobs that many addicts are in and trying to act like Zoom 12 step meetings and therapy sessions are equivalent to the real thing is going to lead to a spike in OD deaths.

You're basically saying that addicts just need more willpower, which has been proven for centuries to be false.

So, good point White Wayne!

That alcoholic cousin who kept me from having a glass of wine at Thanksgiving has been in rehab all throughout Covid. So I’m not sure people are missing out on those sorts of programs. Yes, they have had to modify things. But you guys make it out like the moment Americans lose their job they’re like, “hey, pass the fentanyl!”

I know bike riding is for uncoordinated people who can't play other sports, but you'd think at the professional ranks you'd still have to be athletic and coordinated enough to avoid falling off a bridge.

Then again... this:

Someone who is immersed in this (anth), please help me understand something:

-Everyone praises NYC for having the virus under control.

-The entire nation locked down from mid-March until June. Then in July, we started seeing spikes in FL, TX, etc. - when they mostly took the same measures as NYC.

-Seems to me, NYC benefited from the lockdown that covered the entire country, because, coincidentally, that happened at the right time for NYC. We should have done more targeted lockdowns -i.e., NYC in March through May; then focusing on other areas in June and July.

Just tired of hearing that US citizens F'd this up by refusing to comply. Also tired of hearing that "NYC did it the right way" when most of the country did the same thing that NYC did.

Seems to me that everyone bent over backward to comply for 2-3 months. If gov't had directed a more targeted, rolling approach to the lockdowns - i.e., lock down FL and TX at their peak (in June / July) not prematurely in March-April just because NYC was at peak, we wouldn't be hearing how NYC did it the right way and the rest of the country are defiant rubes, and we are solely to blame because this thing isn't beaten yet.

Please help me understand, because I'm admittedly a Stupid. Also, some of my assumptions may not be entirely accurate, I don't know.
