Pretty disappointed that Boat didn't hold off so his kid could be part of the Class of '69. Although I suppose that's still possible.
(But seriously - congrats!)

I'll be 62 if still alive, and just 3 years away from mandatory euthanasia.
Hell yeah, baby - the sweet release of death. And just in time! Enjoy Waterworld, Generation GFY!
Only time I didn't even attempt to hide a flask walking in. The 20 year old dude at the gate asked me what was in my pocket. Pretty sure I just stared at him and walked on in without showing him a damn thing. Man, what a night.
Great memories. Many of my best football memories involve dark, cold, sleet, blackout, etc. Those November games can be the best. So many beautiful clear blue sky 50 degree days too. November football. God I’m hoping and praying for it.
Blackhaus, Huber had jars of moonshine and people were catching on fire. Awesomeness.
73, I’m pretty sure you drove me back to 80’s crib after the game. Sounds about right.
I was sober for that game. I think I drew the draw the driveway the van back home (this was before we moved to Cooper). I also think I was hungover. What a miserable (but fun) day. I burnt a hole in my pants on the heaters.
Just had a few Tumblin’ Dice Barrel Strength (PM Spirit pick) at a BYOB restaurant. I don’t know if it’s proper etiquette to bring whiskey and Glencairn... but, by golly it was awesome.
Kinda like bringing a baseball bat to an NBA game, but I had positive results.

Word... but then again I recall the game against UT my freshman year where it was like 35 degrees and overcast for a 1:00 PM start to watch Peyton Manning kick the **** out of us.
One has to wonder if it’s MobileCatFan’s shadow driving Anth’s immersion in the Covid thread. “Yeah lil bro may have sports but I know more about this virus.”
True. There are some turds. But this is true with anything in life.
How about that 2011 Matt Roark game. That was one of those I described - blue bird sky, the temperature such that you couldn’t even feel a fleece. Equilibrium.
And I had the perfect buzz at that point of the day. Roark being hoisted up against that blue sky with “Don’t stop believen” blaring over Commonwealth’s system.
edit: I forgot about the best part of that day. Walking through the concourse on the way out, I passed Lee Todd. He had on the most excellent black UK bomber’s jacket ever. We made brief eye contact, and he gave me the knowing nod.

The President of the United States of America is using Twitter to post sh***y flash animations to make fun of his opponent.
This is the world we live in.

Lol. Where did we spend the night? 80s? We had to have ended up downtown at some point. I drove???
Thanks for the nonsense, Chief.
And if you want to view this how the mobs will view it, they will recall that the traditional image of a person doing the pump train (? nomenclature) thing is of a black person. Think back to O’ Brother Where Art Thou and the black dude who pumped that train car thing (Robert Johnson ??)
I mean I don’t really give a ****, but that seems like bad political advertising choices.

I’m pretty foggy on details. I remember shopping for warm clothes pregame with 80 and B$. I don’t really remember much else other than flames, sleet and I thought you were driving a pick up truck? I could have been hallucinating.
I must be dead inside, Chief. That wasn’t even remotely funny.
- That’s not a flash animation. That’s probably a Blender animation (Free, Open Source 3D modeling app.)
- I think of white silent film actors (Keystone Cops, Keaton, the hero catching up to untie the girl on the tracks) and Wile E. Coyote pumping the handcar. Where else does the handcar show up as a black trope in pop culture? That’s a bizarre reach for a race lens, IMO.
- From TV tropes:
In old comedy films and some classic cartoons, when a scene involves a railroad, there is a chance of a handcar pursuit where one of the character chases another character, also in a handcar usually, by operating a handcar. Usually gets ridiculous with the characters pumping frantically when the handcar is able to catch up with a locomotive or is being chased by one.

Now post one other clip of a black guy on a handcar. (That’s what I meant by “where else.”)
<------------ furiously searching the Interweb for a bitching black UK leather bomber jacket.
In retrospect, Lee Todd was pretty awesome, tbh.

O’Brother is loosely based on the Classic Greek epic, The Odyssey. I think the hand pump dude speaking in riddles is supposed to represent Tieresias, a famous blind prophet that appears in multiple texts of Greek literature.
Tieresias has a pretty prominent role in the Oedipus trilogy as well.
You’re wrong. It’s a racist trope to have black guys perform physical labor in any context. That’s what the Coen brothers were trying to do with that scene: poke fun at BIPOC.
Actually its racist to say that the main black character in the film is that same one who was pushing a train car or however we want to say it and call him 'Robert Johnson' when it was actually Tommy Johnson who was a real person and as mentioned the train pumper (lol) was unnamed and was based on greek mythology.
Full marks though Joey on reminding us that the Coen brothers directed the film.

Congrats in advance to Boat's son on having the only "Porky's"-themed nursery in history.
