It seems like everywhere you look people are terrified of Covid liability. To me, this seems like a nearly impossible claim to prove. How can you prove someone got it specifically from either someone at work, or during football practice, or whatever.

Yeah, you may have been around someone that had it, and then you may have gotten it, but that doesn't prove ****. Unless you were literally around no other person, you could've gotten it from anyone. Did you go to the grocery, did you go to a bathroom more than one person uses, did you walk within 6 feet of ANYONE else at ANY TIME in the last two weeks? There is just no possible way to prove you got it from a specific person. If any business or school gets sued over it, they should have the nuts to defend that claim vigorously and not payout due to social pressure.
OTOH it’s a sticking point worth holding up negotiations for a federal relief package.

Hey guys, we really have nothing to worry about. All we have to do is just wait until there's a vaccine in late 2020 or early 2021. That'll eradicate COVID-19, you'll see!

(checks notes)

Oops, looks like vaccines will only have between a 50-75% effectiveness rate. In that case, I guess we'll just keep people locked-up indefinitely. Enjoy the ride!

And only 60% of people will take them AT BEST.

Joe Biden's campaign slogan should be a simple "I'M NOT HILLARY." Really all that matters imo.

And he can't even do that.

Trump* was gonna get smoked in 2016, too. People forget that.

*He's awful but he's not a "raving lib".

The Big 10 waited until it was impossible for anyone to bail. They knew what they were going to do the entire time but didn't want to get ransacked by others. Chickenshit move but what do you expect from them, at this point? Puppies to Willy.

-the fastest vaccine ever created (ebola) took 4 1/2 years. Given the attention and uninhibited bonanza of tax dollars(world wide) being thrown around...we may best that, but it aint happening soon. Fall of '21 at best. Then as stated above...vaccines aren't 100% and some people won't get em.

^nature is gonna nature. Mitigation/prophylaxis is the only play...shoulda been from day 1. We've done so to some degree from the beginning. That said the segment of the population that wants to have covid "squashed" before we do anything are suffering pipe dreams.

People keep trying to say, "Do you really think sports journalists really want the reason their job exists gone?"

The answer is yes, because I think deep down the Wolkens of the industry see this as their opportunity to write about something important and not a "game". These people went to Journalism School, not Sports Journalism School, and want to be seen on the exact same level as Pulitzer Prize winners.

Is anyone near as bad as Wolken? Most the others seem to be OK. Dan can say whatever he wants but he's been actively rooting against sports since early March. Maybe he's just digging in because he's been constantly roasted but it's not just some BJW redneck crew calling him out. Forde and Thamel have me blocked.

Hell, Eric Crawford has been one of my favorite Kentucky Covid follows.

I respectfully disagree based on what I'm hearing. And this isn't from Twitter, it's from actual people involved with the roll-out of the vaccine - which I am now helping with.

Gates also believes early rna vaccines could be here on a similar time line.

-would be happy to be wrong. Thats awful fast.
Very fast, but this is likely the first time in human history so many people have pursued a vaccine using so many resources. That has to make a huge difference.

With that said, there have to be a few corners being cut, as far as human trial length, for it to happen so quickly.

Hopefully, in addition to a vaccine, we can make some real progress on treatments that’ll take this from a death sentence for some people, to meh I feel like *** but it’s not so bad.

List of CFB wants (in no order):
Want the SEC to play
Want the Big 12 to play
Want the ACC to cancel
SEC/Big 12 invite Clemson and only Clemson to play for a season (rendering the rest of the conference even that much more inferior)
