Your father had a son, his father had a son, his father had a son, his father had a son, for all of human life.If you don't you're the first person in that line not to.

I assume you are just talking about last names? Because obviously females pass on genetics just like males do and keep that genetic line going.

Of course, you could be talking about something altogether different because I am bald and things slip thru sometimes.

I’m convinced that the Dan Wolkens of the world are convinced we can’t do anything now unless we can operate in a zero percent chance risk society.

I suppose European soccer is not subject to any criticism of currently playing because well that doesn’t fit the ***** *** narrative.

I’ve played nice the last few months trying to keep my mouth shut and see everyone’s point of view but I’m done. I can wear a mask in public but also apply some hot damn common sense to all of this without wanting to see every organization give into fear and cancel culture bc of the pushback driven by the media.

Don’t get me started about schools being cancelled this school year and the collateral damage associated with that despite the data driven fact that the benefits of in person schooling far outweighing the risks. Kids need to be in school. There is a scientific data that is endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics showing that the actual % chance of any kid passing the virus onto an adult is beyond extremely low.

It’ll be chaos. Inner city kids who are malnourished at home won’t get adequate nutrition. Kids will experience depression. Too much screen time with the google chrome books. Lack of general educational & social development. No sports. Kids wanting to be with their friends.

If you don’t want kids in school and can’t properly evaluate benefits versus risk then you’re a moron. Plain and simple. Touch this society we live in now where pushback culture driven by social media has all of the leverage over common sense and yes, SCIENCE that backs kids going to school.

I'm lovin' the school cancelled thing. My kids are close to genius level if not above it, and I think going to JCPS actually makes them dumber. So home schooling them - while it drives my wife crazy - puts them way ahead. So the plan is to pack up and move out to Colorado for the month of September.

Not talking about genetics though, talking about fathers having sons and females can't do that.

I still have no idea what you are trying to say and I'm sure it's my fault. But I'm just going to not worry about it, file it under "It Doesn't Touching Matter Anyway" and move on.

If Hillary had won we never would have heard of Covid-19.

Great post, Chumps!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey sommelier, what do you think of this study that rocked the wine world and basically made wine experts look like BS artists:

https://www.realclearscience.com/blog/2014/08/the_most_infamous_study_on_wine_tasting.html

Rose, a good French Rose, in the hot sun is crisp and refreshing, really not up for debate.

Absolutely love port wine, no clue why. Find it delicious after a nice meal, might be the gay little glasses it’s comes in but I love a tawny port.

Re: the Brochet study, it simply showed how perception can be altered by suggestion. Not all of the students got it wrong, though most did. Which brings up a major criticism of the study - these were oenology students, not sommeliers, or wine experts. Big difference. Wine tasting evolves over time. Same with bourbon. You can go over to Woodford or Makers and do a tasting and the folks there will tell you they taste vanilla, butterscotch, charcoal, caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg, etc. If you've been drinking bourbon for years, you probably will be able to as well. If you've just started, however, all you're going to get is the burn, regardless of how smooth it is. In the same way, someone who has been drinking wine for years is going to be able to pick out smells and tastes that beginners can't.

Another major criticism of the study is that it focused on only one part of wine criticism, the most subjective part - taste descriptors. It completely ignored "mouth-feel" - the effects of body, alcohol, tannins, sugar, and acid. Anyone on this thread, blindfolded, could tell a red from a white simply by feel, especially if you're given a Pinot Grigio and a Barolo. That brings me to another criticism - what wines were used? If the red was getting descriptors like raspberry, cherry, and cedar, then it was likely a fruitier, lighter, more acidic red, perhaps a Pinot Noir. If the white was a white Burgundy or CA Chardonnay, then you're going to get a similar feel to the Pinot Noir, and even some overlapping aromas/tastes. That was a long answer, but that's sort of the point. The Brochet study was incredibly limited in scope and the ramifications of its findings were blown way out of proportion. The point was to "stick it to" the French wine snobs, which I certainly condone, but other than that it's of little real consequence.

To your Rose point, it's coming back in a big way. White Zin killed it for a while and gave it a bad wrap, but a well-made Rose on a hot day is heaven. People are beginning to realize that so I think you'll continue to see an upward trend in Rose's popularity.

Tawny Port is outstanding, particularly the older ones. Gets expensive quickly though.

Too bad you couldn't tough it out and see the finish line.

That is the difference in me and you. I am tougher than a $2 steak, and you are a big ole pussa.

If you can't tell the difference between Miller Lite, Coors Light, and Bud Light, you probably need to sit your amateur *** down back over at the kiddies table, grown folks are talking.

The double case of Bud ponies back in the day where the **** (about $15). perfect for hot summertime shenanigans and not worry with a beer getting hot. They did not last long enough. But when they switched to the mini long neck bottle, **** went south quick.

Speaking of Olympia, I used to work at 41 drive thru in Mannington, KY as a young adult. Had 1 guy who came thru twice a week for a case. Same with St. Paulies Girl and Old Style. Each guy where the only ones who would order those beers. Man, talk about a 21-22 year old having the SLIGHTLY underage poon in the palm of his hands. I decided who and who I would not sell to based on looks, flirtation, and invites to parties. Slayed many a 18,19, and 20 7's back in the day.

Yes, just a pregnant lady but one that happens to have Joe Camel on her left knee.

One of those things you will see every time you look at it now. Just happened to be Katy Perry.

It’s not about keeping our kids safe. If it were, there would be a whole lot more discussion about their mental health. Maybe it’s different elsewhere, but I’m seeing the effects here and it’s not pretty. We’re doing our best to normalize things, but keeping children locked up without normal interactions is stunting their physical and emotional development.

We let our kids play with the other kids in the neighborhood, you should do the same. Kids are way more resilient than most of you give them credit for.

We are doing that now, and many other parents here have made the same decision. And it has certainly helped a lot.

The school board meeting a few nights ago was very heated. Half the crowd was everyone is going to die, and the other half was please do whatever it takes to get the kids in school full time. There was no in between.

Toots was at Jeff Ruby's? I thought she died of the covid months ago.

Shaming a pregnant lady is pretty cool I guess. Good one chief.

I miss the simpler times when we had Tiger King and everyone was in awe of MJ.

That is all we can do at this point..allow the kids to have a normal life before the school year starts again. Let them play with the same group of kids as often as possible.

It is absolutely important to have grade school kids back in school. If that means less kids in each class then so be it. Schools are large and lots of other areas (gyms, cafeteria, etc...) can be used to educate. If that is not enough room, then use the middle and high schools. If there is a need for more teachers to cover these additional classrooms, then use the music, art, gym, and even administration to cover. They should all be certified to teach K-12 anyways.

For busing these kids in, stagger the start times by school will solve the need to keep kids distanced.

After you take care of those young ones, rinse and repeat with kids entering middle and high schools as they are in a transition year. Nice to have, but not needed if space is an issue.

Middle and high school kids can continue to be online if needed be. Any day they can safely come in, great, but not imperative.

Kids will be fine, but let's focus on getting the grade school kids in as soon as possible.

My $0.02 and my wife is a school teacher. She hates teaching online as much as kids like learning online.

Where is the shaming? Pointing out her knee looks like a cartoon character? That's shaming? No wonder this country is fvcked.
