Wait a minute...this guy who killed Tyler Gerth was arrested on June 17, charged with a few things, and had a handgun on him. He was on the streets 12 days later killing a man.

Court records show he was one of 17 protesters arrested on June 17, and a Courier Journal photographer captured his arrest that day in a photo. He was charged that morning with inciting a riot, disorderly conduct, harassment and possession of drug paraphernalia.

His citation noted he was in possession of a handgun "with two full mags of ammo" at the time of the arrest.

What the hell sort of laws do we not have. That's ridiculous, No wonder this isn't being talked about.

* This is about the most ridiculous, idiotic wastes of taxpayer money like ever.......and I'm absolutely praying this happens. Marcus. Our grandkids will foot the bill, anyways.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/jimwan...0-tax-credit-vacation-right-now/#7d18cdcc6977

On Monday, Senator Martha McSally introduced the American Tax Rebate and Incentive Program (TRIP) Act that essentially offers a tax credit of $4,000 per adult to take a vacation at least 50 miles away from home. For couples, it increases to $8,000 plus you get an additional $500 for each qualifying child.

The list of eligible expenses is fairly broad and includes food and beverages, lodging, transportation, live entertainment events, and expenses related to attending a conference or business meeting.

I've never been so excited to see the federal government do the "right thing," and waste billions of dollars. Yay, America!!

* Sacha Baron Cohen at it again this weekend:

I'll give him about a 7/10 on the song (it's catchy AF), but only a 5 on the performance. Not anywhere near his best work. Only mildly funny.

* Heat index of 105 today, which should make for a nice mid-day jog.

* Both LSU and Clemson have at least 30 football players that have recently tested positive and are under some form of quarantine. Not a single one was hospitalized, and all but 2 have fully recovered.

Not that it matters, but whatevs.

* Salute to the Negro Leagues...

https://www.tippingyourcap.com/

Brings up a recent discussion with anth and myself -- what's the protocol on wearing throwback jerseys at all, and specifically Negro League throwback jerseys?

Ebbets Field Flannels absolutely crushes it, but damn. Pretty sure I'm not nearly cool enough to pull any of these off, even if I wanted to.

* Cam Newton's brain is scrambled, he's always hurt, and past his prime. He's either gonna win the MVP this year, or get cut in training camp.

I've got a feeling the travel credit is going to face a lot of scrutiny if it picks up steam. A tax credit will do nothing for people who are actually struggling (unless it's refundable, which it doesn't look like) and will just look like another tax break for the rich.

I'm very, very comfortable with taking part in this tax credit for the rich.

-I'm sticking with my Brooklyn Dodgers hat as a safe nod to the Negro Leagues and of course my Grandfathers favorite team as a kid. After watching Soul of the Game I had one of those brief childhood phases researching the Negro Leagues. Josh Gibson then becoming one of my favorite legendary players. After reading that Gibson article the other day I went ahead and bought Only the Ball was White and I'll throw that in my queue. Man, I'd love to rock a Grays hat though.

I mean, Cool Papa Bell. Probably the best name in baseball history.

I'm such a dumbass for not visiting the museum while in KC. Instead we went to that sorry excuse for a CBB museum. Poor decision.

-More old baseball takes. G is obsessed with 'Centerfield' by John Fogerty which is kind of cool since it's probably Big A's favorite song and he'd play it(vinyl) all the time when we were kiddos. It's neat because the video on youtube is a celebration of old time baseball so he's learning about Willie Mays, DiMagio, Babe, Robinson, Gehrig, Murderers' Row, Ted Williams, etc.

-Watched Hook this weekend and it held up just fine. Losing Williams really stinks because he was such a great talent.

-That is by far the worst idea I've ever heard. How about we help pay rent, mortgages, and outstanding bills with a regulated stipend? Or better yet, focus on getting people back to work. The last stimulus was basically an Amazon gift card.

-Chipotle adding ice cold Mexican Coca Cola to their menu has turned a somewhat healthy lunch into an extra 150 calories of pure cane sugar.

A Soldier’s Story has some good baseball scenes. Also a young Denzel. Might need to revisit that one soon. Good movie.

Agree on the Brooklyn Dodgers. Good safe call. Rocking the Homestead Grays might be a little much.

I've never seen Hook. When I saw "losing a talent like Williams" my mind immediately went to UK sports. Took a few minutes to realize Anthony meant Robin Williams.

Mexican Coke with real sugar has to be healthier than whatever aspartame and other fake stuff they pump diet cokes, etc full of.

Also, good call. I rarely if ever drink sodas but when I do, I only drink Mexican coke or sprite in a glass bottle. Reminds me of the returnable bottles that my grandmother used to give us. (I'm sure she hated Mexicans but Mexican coke does taste like what coke actually used to taste like.)

* If the government wants to really stimulate the economy ---> waive payroll, etc taxes this quarter. That helps the landed gentry and poor rubes alike.

* For my money, this is Sasha Baron Cohen's greatest example of trolling rednecks:

We played in Ohio again this past weekend. You would never know there was a global pandemic where we were. The only difference was the handshake line has become a “tip your cap” line. That’s it. Players together in the dugouts. Parents sharing tents and coolers of food and drinks. Maybe we’ll all die of a horrible respiratory infection or maybe absolutely nothing will happen. Who knows. But until then, we’re gonna keep socking dingers.

I told a guest I was sweating like a slave for ten hours yesterday. Should not have said that.

Probably should have went with "Sweating like a ***** in church" Or that you where "hotter than a fresh *ucked fox in a forest fire" or my personal favorite, "hotter than a blistered *ick in a wool sock." None of those can come off racist or insulting.

"Down to Dumas Walkers", well it is at least sung by KY Head Hunters, I don't think anyone would really be upset of that.

I’ve never laughed harder in a movie theater than at the The Running of the Jew scene.

Yeah, that's the one I'm thinking of.

Join Adam Schindler and the spicy Zoey Deschanel as Adam encounters love, laughs and zany hijinks at a Tallahassee grocery store, local motel, motorcycle bar, zoo, and ice cream stand on a hot summer day in 2020. Awakened by a loud clasp of thunder, hungover after another night of drinking, Adam finds a list on his counter that he didn't write and a quest he never thought he needed. Schindler discovers that not only is his life not what it seems, but his list is as magical as his heart.

Zooey Deschanel as Heidi Jones is a sexy riot alongside comedy stalwart Adam Sandler in this summer's most enchanting and heartwarming romantic comedy. Adam Schindler's List: You'll think you inhaled laughing gas on this train ride of an adventure!

I watched the new Will Ferrell flick this weekend. It wasn’t Anchorman, but I had a few laughs. The scenes with Pierce Brosnan are great. 6.5/10.*

* I couldn’t sleep Saturday night and woke up at 3am, so this review could reflect that reality.

-Borat and the fat guy was the funniest scene for me. Couldn’t breathe.

-Julie Bowen is the GOAT of Adam Sandler 90’s costars. Her Happy place outfits....yes please.

-UCL thanks for the What We Do In The Shadows rec. I can’t figure out why they are funny or who is the funniest yet but something about their delivery cracks me up. Nadja is pretty good looking in regular clothes.

I laughed too hard at the "retired" bit and how they kept his sister in a cage.

Close 2nd was Scary Movie when grrrl was on her phone in the theater and told her friend she was watching, "Shake a Spear, in Love."
