-Vegas open for Business today :fire:
-Pete Dye @ French Lick - Wow. We played it around 7000, with constant 15-30mph winds all day...felt like 7400. You have no chance there as a first timer without a caddy, which weren't available...classic Dye, everything is an illusion and designed to look impossible, but actually isn't if you know where to go. 90
joy
, followed up by an afternoon 76, which would have been under par about anywhere else...not sure I could top a 76 if I played it 50 times tbh. I wouldn't call it 'fun' by any stretch, but it's an experience any local golfer should seek at least once - the views/etc are just unreal up there.
-JM Butler, Trinity kid & Mr Golf (headed to Auburn) was there with us. He shot a few under in the morning, and then played the 8100 tips by himself, which is 450 yards longer than the longest PGA Tour Course (Torrey Pines South), and shot a 75. They've had numerous big time tourneys out there, and never used those tees. Course rating of 80, which essentially means that's what 'par' would or should be. 330 yard Par 3, average Par 4 around 500, Par 5s 650. Lmao.
Believe he's at LCC, Brooksie? He won the Dye National Junior at Crooked Stick last weekend by 4 shots, besting John Daly II, among other top national kids. Kid may very well be on the Tour someday.
-The longer this goes on, the more I think all this Covid hysteria was complete ********. At least, for the past month or so. From what I'm seeing, for most people it's out of sight/out of mind.
^ Pools not being open is the biggest joke of all though, imo.
-Finally starting to feel like summer, a little. Still doesn't really though, despite the weather -or maybe that's just me.
-Anyone have a beef jerky gun? Had my eye on one for awhile...recs/link?
