I'm most likely wrong but I always felt like the Kap thing was presented as the police are killing thousands of unarmed black men per year. That simply wasn't the truth.

Taking bets on which woke *** sportswriter is gonna be the first to write an article about how this is the perfect time for the NFL to extend the olive branch and bring Colin Kaerpernick back into the league.
Easiest bet in the world considering he's gotten his panties in a wad over colleges practicing the art of human sacrifice err.... playing football this fall.

I’m not sure about anyone else but I’m legitimately interested in how these things are coming down. Rax, I know your proposal to have your boys mash at them until they fell was rejected but how do you think these guys are doing it?
Was actually in that parking lot this morning watching them. UK requested they be brought down mechanically which means you have to use small machines. We proposed using a machine called a Brokk, which is a robotic excavator you use with a remote control. Has a jackhammer attachment on the end. Basically you have to start at the top and go floor by floor all the way down. Debris was being pushed thru the elevator shaft. These guys seem to be using mini excavators and skid steers, which basically do the same thing just a little scarier imo.

- 19th anniversary is today and we're heading for our first sit-down meal at a restaurant in what seems like forever.

- "How the Universe Works" on the Science Channel is solid to have on in the background without paying constant attention.

- Can't get anyone to renovate a bathroom/tile shower. I get that it's not a big job but I've been surprised.

Kaep is really the same guy as Tim Tebow -- was absolutely capable of being productive on an NFL roster for several more years, but their off-field headaches started to far outweigh their on-field ability.

Not a good spot for a professional football player. Or any other profession, really.

As a Panthers fan, I was terrified of Kap. Dude was legit. Seemed to have a down year, then did the kneel thing, then poof, gone. I get the feeling he was probably kind of a goofball, which also didn’t help.

edit: Kap was by far a better NFL QB than Tebow.

I just wanted to reminisce with my fellow Colonel about Tazwell's. Nobody pulled your string.

-in college, once took a "date"(i think she was using me... a "known scoundrel"... to make her on again off again BF jelly)to tazwells. She got a little too flirty with the lead singer of some band* for my liking...so i left her there** and went home with another gal*** .

*pretty sure it was my later in life friend Greg Austin.

**still not sure how she got back to gtown.

***super hot, (we had alot of sex pti)but turned out to be a bit off/ a stalker so i had to cut bait.****

****maybe prematurely as she introduced me to her boyfriend *and* girlfriend a few years after college when i ran into her at lynaughs. Oh well.

My point all along was going down there at midnight full force was avoidable. The decision to engage escalated everything which resulted in a shooting. It was reckless, stupid, and again, avoidable.

Blow me. And I never accepted anth’s apology in the first place.

They were called down there dumbass by a black business owner. The call for police was released.
Last night there was also no police presence. Except for the 7 police cars for about 15 minutes to support the fire truck putting the fire out on Dino's roof, the same black business. After the fire was out they all left together.
While they were called down there the first night, David Mcatee shot at them and they shot back. What did you expect them to do?

Sending the national guard down with militarized local police was the best option. Now I get it. Thanks for clarifying, rob!

I’m done here for a bit. Probably the right time for a break. You all be good.

I still can't take my kid to the pool or a daycare and have to quarantine if I travel to a different state. K.

I'll just wait until the rest of the evidence comes out before making anymore assumptions. Obvious this thing isn't cut and dry. It was probably a dumb idea to have Nat Guard at 26th & Broadway and a really dumb idea(by limited video evidence and guns recovered at the scene) to be shooting at cops. Not sure what they're supposed to do, just let them continue to loot and destroy businesses? They hit 2 pharmacies last night. I know, I know, that was out of state white nationalist operatives down at the Broadway Kroger and Palatka Walgreen.

Enjoy your break.

I think the clear solution is Minority Report-style “Precog” cops and National Guard so they’ll know ahead of time where problems will actually occur.

They won’t have to answer the calls where they already know people aren’t going to do anything bad.

Instead, they can focus on the groups that they know are going to do something bad in the future and let the other groups just serve as a distraction / drain on other civic resources during the state of emergency curfew.

Pretty cut and dried.

How do we know the police didn't fire first? Why would their body cams be deactivated? Macatee was a respected, well known person in the community who from all accounts had a great relationship with the police. I find it hard to believe he would just start firing at law enforcement unprovoked. Based on the LMPD's behavior in the Breonna Taylor murder, it isn't far fetched. Imo, it's more than likely.

Not to get into semantics but it appears from the video they did fire first but they were paint balls and pepper spray. Regardless, and not taking to account the debate of them being there in the first place, IF(the video isn't very clear)he fired shots at the Nat Guard the timing is kinda irrelevant.

Also, this is probably why they were down there.
