I'm in a contest with a guy from work to see who can run the most miles in May. As of 5 minutes ago I’m at 91.57 on the month. I can assure you I’ve not enjoyed a single moment of it. Gained 3 lbs this month too.

It's just impossible right now. I've been working out like crazy and can't drop any weight. Too much free time and accessible food. I basically just graze constantly.

Used Willy's advice on Toyota production to convince the Missus that not only did I need the truck, I needed the tech package, TRD etc. as cost will be through the roof and availability will be impossible in the fall.

So, much obliged Willy. The Tacoma is an incredible truck (in my one day of experience).

- Granted I’m not extremely well versed in the genre, but mommy bloggers seem to me to be one of the most annoying sub-cultures out there. Right below “golfers” and above “the Atlanta region African-American synchronized rollerskaters.” In my best Logan Roy, “F off.”

- Jesus Christ- Joey could work his high school track accomplishments into any conversation. We get it, Usain. You were fast. And I didn’t want to bring this up, but I have some strong contacts in the early ‘00s Boone County T&F scene and to say there were whispers of doping would be putting it mildly.

- I need a night OUT drinking. Frankly, I think my wife deserves it. I believe I’ve been getting on her nerves. Guess I’ll hit the domesto train on a neighborhood patio and give her what she wants.

- Getting a lot of mileage out of my “you look like you’re about to rob a stagecoach” masking joke. Feel free to use. No footnote needed.

- GYERO Dudes I Wish I Knew:

1. 1973: The LA Years
2. Richie: The College of Charleston Years
3. Anth: Roughneck Brawler Days

- Imagine you’re a righthanded pitcher in the late 20s and somehow some way you get past Babe Ruth only to have to see Gehrig there waiting for you.

- “Notorious Thugs” will get me hype no matter the day or season.

Just wait til you actually have the kid and see what mommy bloggers have to say about all the questions you (and mrs. wcc will have). B) and I not so affectionately refer to them as meow meows.

-Murders Row, 5 HOFs, 5 guys hitting over .300(most well over), Ruth and Gehrig at peak. Shew.

-You mean Jeremy was upset you were teeing up out of turn, hitting into the group ahead of you, leaving the tee box after you hit, and in general just being a complete *******? Strange.

-Haircut scheduled for June 2nd. LFG.

-Ride last night was just ok. Neighbor joined me. HR and MPH was a little low as I just didn't have my normal legs. Wind was coming from a weird direction so that was nice. Strava listed it as 81 relative effort, 31.02 miles, 132aw, 902kcal. Gets me 365 miles in May and 31 hours of working out.

-I'm giving myself a week quarantine from the covid rabbit hole. I've gone too deep.

-Starting to loosely plan, even if we have to cancel, a late summer beach vacation. I just need something to look forward to.

-Scored a bottle of Blanton's on their online shop, so going to cruise up there in a bit. Turn some tunes on, open the windows, unwind a bit.

-If there was ever a time for college athletes to pull a power move it's now. If they said, "f*ck you, pay us or we're not playing this season" the colleges and NCAA would have no choice but make a move. For the first time the athletes are being exposed for what they are and have all the power.

- If you want a good fiction read of the short story variety, it's damn near impossible to beat George Saunders. Also, I will continue to toot the horn of Charles Portis - go read "Norwood" or "The Dog of the South." You can get them dirt cheap on your Kindle right now. It's infuriating that someone can write that well. He's been described as "Cormac McCarthy if he wanted to be funny" and that's about right.

- A rabbit has taken up residence in my yard during the past month or so. He eats some clover, chills out in my kids' soccer goal, takes naps right out in the open, and is tolerant of our presence. The other day another rabbit popped up and then a third, but those two are gone now. I don't know what happened. (Turf war? Murder?) I have enjoyed it tremendously and it gives me peace for some reason.

- Louisville FC now has a full-blown youth academy and it has wreaked havoc in Kentucky youth soccer. They are recruiting like crazy and pissing off everyone. My oldest kid's age group lost a bunch of kids to them - and these are Lexington kids. It's stupid and funny and a deadly serious matter.

- I have been exercising regularly but haphazardly in terms of what I do on a particular day. I would love a program that combines cardio, yoga, and weights in a coherent fashion (with maybe more of an emphasis on the yoga). Also trying to cut down on drinking somewhat successfully. Depends on the day.

- "What We Do in the Shadows" is the current "Best Show on TV."

- Please enjoy.

My understanding is US Soccer dropped their regional developmental programs as more clubs in MSL and USl have been already going their own way or are now forced to do so.

Development teams only affected high school really but these club teams are zapping down to early ages.

That's exactly it. They beat Cincy FC to the punch, which really surprises me.

Should be fine. There is a whole world going on outside of KY borders right now
Nashville is back on track. Just today we had high-speed car chases, police shootings, murders, major wrecks shutting down interstates....you know, the “old” normal.

Worried school will be moved up. So trying to figure that out.

Nashville last weekend was deader than Nicholasville (transBrannon). Pulled off the interstate and saw two other cars downtown on our way to the hotel. Creepy tbh.

We would have an abundance of animals playing in our yard except for the fact that our duo of 80-pound rescue mutts are stone-cold killers. They've amazingly killed adult raccoons multiple times and have never even had so much as a scratch on them following those battles. On the plus side, I've only seen two snakes in 8+ years and mice/rats know to stay TF away.

-was waffling between as soon as possible and early August for beach trip. Wife was worried about a possible spike/ensuing hyperbolic re-shutdown...so we went with the former.

-renting a brake and buying some copper sheet for re-flashing a few windows tomorrow, exited gang.

-made a nice jambalaya as well as an Asian/beef noodle thing this week. Tryna mix it up for the family...weeknight meals are challenging.

-go get some longaniza(sausage) at your local super mercado. Thank me later.

-thinking about a new(used/cpo) truck. Will likely stick with Chevrolet...cause they're the best.

-buster the beagle has taken to killing opossum of late. I support his evolutionary needs, but the opossum is a nocturnal creature, which leads to the dog baying at the back door about an hour after bed time, nightly.

-this weeks acquisitions:

The eraser-thom yorke
Helplessness blues-fleet foxes
What we saw from the cheap seats-regina spektor (ltd red vinyl)
Ocean Rain-Echo/Bunnymen (jap version with obi in tact)
Phase zero-morgan delt(ltd red vinyl)

-3 days off.

Supermercado Guanajuato in Louisville (on Preston) is unreal.

It's the size of a old smaller Kroger, and the butcher selection is incredible. Sausages of all types hung up, Carnitas, Fajitas of all types, Pastor Spinning on the Spit, & every cut of meat all sliced to order

Two Mexican Grandmas in the middle of the store pressing fresh flour & corn tortillas (and frying chips) all day long, and they're about 10 for $1. Fresh Tamales as well. Rest of the store is every Mexican cheese, product, etc you could imagine.

Full Bakery & Homemade Ice cream shop, and also a Full service Taqueria Restaurant & Bar inside that uses all the product from the store.

Worth a side trip if you're ever in town, for sure.

That new stadium is pretty dope actually.

It’s very dope and it’s a really cool anchor for the entire Butchertown neighborhood. I actually enjoy the games I just wish people in this parochial town would realize that despite Louisville having great amenities... Awesome neighborhoods, solid schools, wonderful restaurants, cool parks, and a respected art scene but there are not enough well paying jobs here compared to our peers and we’ll never get a seat at the big boy’s table unless we get a major league sports franchise. Those 2 missing components go hand in hand.

Focus on getting a NBA franchise. It’s unfathomable what it would do for the city and state.

You seem to be just completely oblivious to the financial burden major pro sports dump on city and local governments today, and the concept of an NBA team somehow creating net positive job gain is wishful thinking at best.
