I would say that the shutdown wouldn't apply to "essential" personnel, which - obviously - would include the basketball team.

Bragging about being a state with "zero cases" is great until you find out they just arent going to any lengths to test for it.

Alabama should be fine. Pretty health-conscious bunch down there.
Also, a 0.6% death rate and they're testing like crazy with like 200k people tested.
They have this novel idea of testing basically everyone under the sun - and they actually quarantine when infected.

Short of visiting a retirement facility or going on a cruise, and that's because the off chance of being stranded on a cruise ship for 3 weeks is awful, I can't imagine this stopping me from doing anything. At least with the info we have right now.

I never said it was like the flu. I said it could happen to them like various cases of the flu. Tens of thousands of people die every year from the flu. Some of those people unfortunately caught it from their college aged relatives. Or from their grandkids.

Even if it ends up being very bad, it will only be made worse by the talking heads blathering on. Swine Flu killed 15k in 2009. If Coronavirus kills 10k it will be objectively less deadly than Swine Flu, but it will cripple this country. At this point, any thing over a couple hundred deaths will be seen as vindication for the doomers and the panic level will reflect that

US has only 22 deaths (@ 3.6% death rate) for something we have almost no info on and we're shutting everything down. That's all good and well until you realize what the cost is compared to the likelihood of preventing the spread.
I am curious to see how officials respond without a crowd to play to.
