Location is way more important than seed this year imo, especially for The Cats. That Evansville loss is so unprecedented that no one really knows how to formulate it and the computers probably think they’ve been hacked and some nerd is trying to “test” out its algorithms or whatever.

There’s really nothing to measure it up to. It is a total sports anomaly and if UK winds up winning the whole damn thing, it could be one of the biggest upset stories in the history of sports - we’re talking 30 for 30 territory. There’s no way to rationalize how tf that happened.

But all of the computer rankings seem to be a joke this year. The Big Ten, Big East and Duke get way too much credit.

Throw away top win & top loss like they do figure skating/diving scoring... May be a way to get an unbiased, unweighted analysis.

Absurd. We still have a chance to win the national title. Wisconsin is the worst loss in UK history by a landslide. Evansville loss was like accidentally shitting your pants. You go clean up, get a fresh pair of drawers and go on with your day. Wisconsin loss was like being stabbed by a mortal blade. Even with kings foil and elvish care, the pain will always be there.

In this screwball year, just let the Big Blue Mist get in and keep us away from Kansas. I'll take the current bracketology with us in the West with Gonzaga as the 1 and Florida State as the 2 any day.

Agree on Evansville. I didn't care then and I don't care now. That's a meaningless game. Games outside the top 5 or 6 conferences are glorified exhibitions. If these weak *** KenPoms and other computer rankings don't realize that then the guys programming the computers are morons.

-It's not absurd. It's the worst statistical loss/upset in UK history. You know what I was talking about.

-Time to wax poetic on the play of Montgomery. The stats, for him look better, but the dude is doing exactly what we need from him. When is the last time I got pissed because he took an ill timed 17'er? Dude is playing some awesome D, getting 50/50 balls, playing 30+ minutes, fouling less, blocking shots, covering the 5 when Richards is in foul trouble. Really impressed by the big guy.

-After re-watching the game about 3 times in the last 36 hours I'm encouraged by Hagans play. Need him to finish a few more of those layups.

-Quickley with the off game 20/12 :joy:

Very well, some sharts are far more memorable than others. I completely agree on Montgomery. He's also an underrated passer.

I guess the reasons for concern are also reasons for a bit of optimism as well. This team is prone to start slow, let inferior teams hang around late, on occasion we've seen good contribution from Sestina, EJ, Juzang, even good spot minutes from Brooks- but we've not seen a real complete performance or consistency. Obviously Hagans is going to be a focal point. Even if he's taking care of the ball, he's going to have to give *something* offensively late in games to keep teams honest. Some of his jumpers are essentially a turnover.

*But* There has been subtle improvement, and at least we've seen guys show that they belong out there. They *can* compete and beat anyone, and play different styles to get it done. Just a matter of if, at this point.

I wont go as far as saying they are a fun team to watch, but thats probably as much to blame on college basketball as a whole being one big cringe, along with SEC officiating, stall ball with a lead and 9 minutes left, etc... but its been cool to see the guys who have worked hard and been looked over become the top contributors and leaders out there. Feel like thats certainly deserved for those guys. Oddly enough we seem to get as many winning plays from Montgomery, loose ball, big rebound, hit big FT's... good on him.

Those Top Golf balls don’t go very far. If he used the clubs they provide and he hit it over the net, he absolutely roasted it with a driver not remotely correct for his swing speed.

That’s pretty tough to judge by watching, but I’d love to see his swing on a trackman.

That name rings a bell but I don't know him personally. More importantly though, GOOD LORD!!?!1

I am by no means short, and I've never gotten above 120/121 on Trackman. With good contact, 134 is over 200 mph of ball speed. Those are professional long drive-type numbers.
