There has to be a correction factor in the metrics for after you lose to a bad team where their coach knocks up a coed, gets fired and they never win another game.

Evansville was a terrible loss but there are extenuating circumstances of why they were even worse in their conference play.

Nobody reads GYERO on Sunday Randoms:

- Trying to watch Sportscenter this morning. Highlights. Old school format. Genuinely curious, but . . .

The co-anchors were ranting about pork products during the Top 10 (wtf?). There was a 30 second segment on Ja Morant’s MISSED dunks which led to a segment on creative math/metrics that demonstrate ZION is messiah. And the female anchor yells so loud during hi-lights that you can hear the echo throughout the studio. Guess I’m an old.

- Lost in the first round of district. Don’t want to talk about it yet. Wasn’t supposed to happen.

- That means I get to be “just a fan” a whole lot earlier than I intended to this season.

- WKU assistant coach comped me 4 tickets to that crazy game in Diddle Thursday (he knew I was feeling down). Took the family for a little quality time. Pretty cool event. Great seats on the floor. La Tech has monsters on their team. Looked like pro wrestlers.

- I’ll be doing radio stuff now during post season. Wanted by two different stations to volunteer my time. Absolute bidding war!

- Boys Sweet 16 is being played during the first weekend of The Dance this year, as it should be. Looking for an Airbnb for 3/19-3/21. Anyone have any recs or could I just crash on one of y’all’s couches?

-yesterday's game was a never in doubt. Wildcats *handled* a good/well coached team.

-*balanced*. Got good things from brooks/ej/nate. Starting to like my team *alot*, gang.

-picking up daughter from volunteering at church yesterday...and i see willy and chad walking by. Awkward bro-hug and such. It always tickles me when the wife/kids say something like..."so that's wildcatwilly."

-lunch at wallace station, solid cuban. Then to pop's...to grab some records: nina simone, john prine, tool and a monk/coltrane collab.

- late lunch at dad's today. My uncle who is being looked after by hospice is hoping to make it out...so he can see our part of the extended family, "one last time". Should be nice.

-go cats.

Thought Rupp crowd was good yesterday.

Sec 223 Row A with Dad yesterday. First Rupp game since last year's LSU debacle.

Loved seeing Erik Daniels on the jumbotron. What an underrated guy. Would kill for another ED.

We were in row E. How did we miss your theatrics? Are you better behaved when you are with your Dad? Glad you got to see a winner.

Funny running into Rudd on the way to Rupp. Always good to see that dude.

Chad was in March form a day early. Perfect wingman.

Sawyer burger pregame. Shots with Anth & BBdK pregame. Both excellent.

Only bad thing for the day was not getting to stay for the Schembourbon Tasting.

Has Krazy told us how he got his baseball bat signed by AD, LBJ, Jordan, Pippen, and the entire Dream Team? Because he made his own gd bourbon, so I doubt he had any issue with a little ol baseball bat. Someone tell him he can’t find the cure for corona virus.

Always liked this quote from Rupp on The Fiddlin’ Five:

"We've got fiddlers, that's all," Rupp said of Kentucky's players. "They're pretty good fiddlers, be right entertaining at a barn dance. But, I'll tell you, you need violinists to play in Carnegie Hall. We don't have any violinists."

Rupp has some classics. Always appreciated (paraphrasing here) his one about Kentucky mothers first hope their sons follow in the footsteps of another Kentuckian- Abraham Lincoln. But if not president, she dreams he grow up to play basketball for Kentucky.

Schembourbon Tasting Notes:

Will be busy at work tomorrow, sorry to disappoint Booker, so here tis.

Overall just a really fun time and great event. Thanks to our lovely hosts, I think Sloot enjoyed the job of playing Vanna White and revealing the winners after each round.

Format-Blind tasting, three bourbons/flight with similar proof (1/2oz pours). Notecards provided, the group would discuss features and ultimately pick their favorite and identity of each bourbon. Medicine dropper of water provided, as well as coffee beans to cleanse the nasal palate, although a certain self titled "bourbon connoisseur" chose to eat them.

First round:Evan Williams 12 red label, Michter's toasted barrel, Knob Creek quarter oak.
Winner-Unanimous decision EW12.

Second round: Four Roses Barrel strength OBSQ, 1792 Full Proof, Willet Family Estate
Winner-1792 FP

Third Round: Four Gate black label, WB Saffell, Horse soldier barrel proof
Winner-Unanimous decision, Four Gate Black Label

Fourth Round: Old Carter rye, Michter's 10 rye, Sazerac rye
Winner-Unanimous decision, Michter's 10 rye

Best in Show: EW 12, Michter's 10 rye, Four Gate Black label.

Note should be made that through the first 3 rounds, yours truly, TEAM BOAT, was a perfect 9/9, as well as having smacked down a very loud Geesefeeder and a very confused Bonzo. Dinner was served between rounds 3 and four. It was a nice spread of sous vides ny strip, grilled mushrooms, and asparagus. It was a very nice offering, however, Adrian and I were both served very well done steaks in an effort to throw off our palates. Sad to say this dirty trick worked, and while I picked the winner in the last round, I was incorrect on its identity...Sad, a real Nancy Kerrigan move. WHY???

Praise to Geese for bringing the very tasty chess and pecan pies for dessert. That Japanese whiskey was also delcious.

Anth's meat and cheese board was also quite spectacular.

Again, just a blast and I look forward to more in the future, where I will personally cook the steaks.

On my phone so I don’t know how to message you. After reflecting on this message, there is an outside chance I rented from you during last year’s sweet 16. I can dm on twitter or something?

- Showed up hours early to get some gear and to get tickets squared away. Checked with security who let us know AD might not actually play, and that I in fact could not check a bat in with security to attempt getting it signed.

- Went to the game with my BIL who loves the Lakers, and was disappointed that we might not see Lebron or AD at that point.

- Head over to Rendezvous, and I have to say Memphis has a mini Nashville feel to it which was pretty cool. I didn’t expect much but the scene was fantastic and an absolute joy to be in the mix as all I heard was how hood/ghetto the city was.

BBQ was pretty good, but I’ll still take shack in the back or Knoth’s(Grand Rivers area) over everything else I’ve had.

These ******** refused to turn UK on because Texas was on......F’ing Texas!?!

So youtubetv FTW. Go cats, and much like the first game we owned those bitches, but this time we finished!

- The Game:

Ja, man this dude is all world talent. On top of that he is unreal humble. The first guy out for shoot around, interacting with fans, pics, signing any memorabilia.......just a cool dude that I’m happy to be such a fan of.

Lebron nor AD had early shoot around and only warmed up in layup lines 10 minutes before the game, and though I hate on Lebron every chance I get it was still exciting knowing I got to see him play.

Say what you want about the missed dunks. The first one was blocked from behind which caused Rondo/Ja to talk it up which ended in a laugh.......the second attempt Ja had it man and the whole crowd(including LA fans which was 1/3 of the crowd) was on their feet. First person talking to him was Rondo, and on the big screen you could see Rondo tell him to stop it/it’s not happening for you.

All that said I loved watching him go off, I loved watching the Lakers struggle and most of all I loved seeing Lebron refuse to drive, point fingers at everyone on his team despite getting out hustled by white dudes off the bench I’d never seen play for Memphis before.

Getting to see Memphis stick it to LA was awesome, and the cherry on top was after the game Tayshaun Prince is walking back into the tunnel and I was on the lower stairs trying to get his attention letting him know BBN loves him, he looked up smiled and walked over to slap five and I blurted out “you remember killing UNC by bombing 3’s” and he lit up with a huge grin as if I brought up a pretty memorable moment up for him.

Yeah, it's called Beale Street, one of the best strip of Blues bars in the world.

I reckon the chef was partaking in the bourbon flights and lost track of his proper technique of achieving the Maillard reaction in under 1.5 minutes.... bummer.

Wow, if only you had been told that by dozens of people before asking the security guard too!

Tourney talk:

As the likely overall 1 seed, why would Kansas choose Indy knowing it is a potential destination for UK/UL/MSU? They'd get more fans in Houston IMO.

Creighton went down today. Two and three seeds dropping multiple games, left and right. Cats just keep on winning.

When the rep from the selection committee has to answer questions after the brackets come out, someone should ask how many losses the Evansville loss counted for. Was it treated like 3 losses? Five losses? Eight? What if we're on the bubble and we don't realize it?

you don’t seem to understand. Creighton losing to 14-14 St Johns by 20 just shows how deep and awesome the Big East is. It may actually help Creighton when it is all said and done.
