I spent a couple years in Grand Rapids. Pretty solid place even if the weather sucks. Great place for families.
@RibsAndWhiteBread would be happy to know my dad and his wife live there(Holland) now in the summers, I’m sure. Haven’t visited and don’t care to.

-Gym, pool, happy hour food at Hurricane Hole, home for another backyard workout and then back out for actual pool/billiards. Home now listening to music on the back porch at 72 degrees, little too warm so far this year.

Give me my 60/70s for 3-4 months please. 80s all week already. At least pool season is back, I guess.

-Tomorrow same lineup basically but different places, tough living.

-Watch so little basketball since PSVue quit, not cool. Watched all the UK games minus Vandy still though. You can find a way, it just takes effort.

-Off work randomly for the next four days, no idea what to do with myself besides bar/beach hop a bit, read and get some sun. If you can’t read in a bar with a beverage you’re in the wrong bar

-Basketball recruiting is by the wayside minus what you guys put in here(much like others). I just can’t drag myself into it anymore, but thanks for the highlights gang.

-Hooked up with an old fling recently...why are you still here at noon, sweetheart? #refusetosaybyeeeee

-Been on a Kygo kick, can’t lie. It’s so off my normal stuff and I didn’t like it at first but damn. **** jams. Makes me think of exes sometimes but mostly happy rest of the way.

-Working very randomly now because my best friend and 96 year old grandmother broke her hip and her wrist recently. We TEXT daily (because she’s a beast) and drives herself, lives upstairs at the house she and her husband built before I was born.

He was a P-38 pilot in WW2, flew all the sorties he could, 150, before they sent him home back to gma. Had AA flack hit his cockpit but it didn’t blow up twice. Was hailed in the papers as a legit hero Lucky **** that man and the best guy I ever met, he deserved it.

Anyway, love that woman and will move away if she needs me but hoping I don’t have to. Already took off three weeks around December/ January to help my mom and her out.

Sorry for the late night vent gang.

I got this email today from a potential employer about a job I was one of three finalists for. My question is - Does this likely mean I have the job locked up unless I totally screw up at the interview?

If anybody can answer this one, today I got an unsolicited email for a job on LinkedIn where the recruiter said “name your price, we’ll pay it.” My question is whether that is legally binding. I’m thinking $13.41M for the salary.

When I joined LinkedIn, I almost immediately got several emails from recruiters telling me I was a perfect fit for job openings they were trying to fill.

I hadn't even filled out my profile.

yea, tons of effort. Like 3 clicks to download the YoutubeTV app using the same username, password, and bank account as PSVue previously. Exhausted me.

Damn I love this Memphis team. Young, full of players I hated in college, but are a perfect fit around Ja and Jaren Jackson. They need that 1 guy though, like a Bradley Beal who will be available, to keep their young core focused.

The new 3 batter rule in MLB supposed to speed up the game. It's going to turn into the equivalent of defensive players in FB faking cramps to slow down hurry-up offenses. Now instead of the MGR just going out to make a change it's going to be the trainer "assessing" the injury then discussing with MGR, then making the change.

Throw a * in there, if a player leaves because of injury issues he is unavailable for next 3 games.

Parrish made a good point on their latest podcast. Of the top 12 recruits in the 2019 class (not sure what service he was using), only 2 of them -- Carey and Maxey -- are guaranteed to be in the NCAA Tournament. The others have either quit (Wiseman, Whitney), or are on teams that suck (Anthony, Edwards).

What a stupid class.

If you do get the job, please do not try to peddle the **** on the Paddock. Do your Facebook thing, but not here.

*UGA at 11-9 isn't making it.
*UNC has a ton of work to do.
*Wiseman already gone and Memphis reeling.
*Washington is 12-9 and in last place in the PAC12.
*Hampton/Ball both overseas.
*Iowa St isn't making it.
**SLOWCLAP** to everyone involved.
If things finish as they appear we'll have maybe 2 or 3 of the projected lottery picks in the NCAAT. Really great stuff, guys.

Similar take, only I used projected draft picks rather than recruits. This class is stupid and not very good but general point is college basketball talent is running away from the sport as fast as possible. What's great is that egghead Emmert is doing everything he can to involve politicians in an effort to "save amateurism."

-Speaking of old people being stuck in their ways. Baseball changes sound great to me. It's boring, really boring. For at least 30-50% of the year half the teams have no hope of post season play. That's crazy and in the end the post season is so small. So speed up the game, score more, keep fans attention for longer.

-Marrow/Stoops putting on the full court press for raises. Good for them. Deserved.

-February [poop]

-Trap-ish game this weekend. We've been playing down, just had a little confidence off that 2nd half in Nashville, Tyree/Shuler are TUFF, and we play sluggish at home. Can't drop any unexpected ones if we want to move up.

-Slow clap for Clappy Crean. Really nice job, Tom.

-Banchero seems stuck on '21.

-Don't expect much but BatCats kicking off soon. Fun to walk over with G and grab a beer/hot dog. If anyone ever wants tickets, holler. We only make 8-9 games per year.

Scoring more in baseball has absolutely nothing to do with speed of the game or excitement. Baseball is fun when there is back and forth, the ball being in play, and pitchers and hitters countering each other. A glorified home run derby is what the MLB has been for the last few years and it is decidedly not more fun to watch

Watched a documentary the other night about the 80s Cardinals teams and, tbh, that was the group that got me into baseball and they were lucky to hit a dozen home runs a year.

Not to sound too get-off-my-lawn, but every time I see a guy strikeout swinging as hard as he can when the other team has shifted to the point that no one is even to the left of 2nd base I die inside.

BUT HE MIGHTA HIT A DINGER!! FUN!

- Just got back from the first ultrasound of my first human child. Good heartbeat and rolling solo so all in all a good trip. After raising three cats and a golden retriever, this should be a breeze.

- Early frontrunner for names:

Noelle Alexandra
Lucas Alistair

Although, I also really like a couple of names in honor of my great grandparents- Arch for a boy and Elsie for a girl.

- The lass grew up loving Broadway shows. Was big in her family. Her favorite is Les Mis- knows all the songs, seen it 100x but never live. So bolstered by a handful of bourbons and in the glorious haze following UK’s win over Louisville earlier that day, bought us some tix for their show last night at Aronoff. Was very good and she was locked in like I am during a UK game. Would like to see another show soon. Need to get her some sober fun nights obvi.

Thursday Shorts:

-As far as married date nights go these days, nothing is better than dinner & a good Broadway show, imo

-Lost a lot of respect for Chad when he put 'Blank Space' all the way down at #3 on his Taylor Swift Facebook Tribute. [eyeroll] FOH

Congrats on the churrin tho. About time.

-On Season 3 of 'The Deuce' on HBO. Gotten progresively better, and I enjoy -- David Simon definitely has a style. Man, 'Abby' in Season 1 is about as hot/sexy of a 'new' (to me) chick as I've seen on screen in awhile. :fire:

-Man, what a blow losing Marrow would be. :grimace:

-Grassa Gramma tonight for an early Vday dinner.

-Louisville getting NYC's Emmy Squared? :eyes: Seems they are expanding that out to several cities. Would have preferred Emily, but nice little pickup either way. Both pizzas are fantastic, but that burger will instantly be the best in town.

-Narcos Mexico S2 out today. :fire:

-Big Dirty Chai kick lately. Iced, of course.

-1 month til SECT/March Madness gets under way...**** creeps up out of nowhere. :basketball:

-Pop Smoke
