Sometimes I enjoy sitting at the bar, but if it’s crowded AF or I’m not in the mood, I enjoy a table for 1. Probably doing the bar tonight before I meet up with old Air Force buddy, my former neighbor above Crab Island.

Chomp.

I drove to and attended the Belk Bowl solo and it was glorious. Ended up sitting with a law school buddy who I didn't know was going until I was in the stadium.

My 12 year old son and I went to the Belk Bowl sans the women. Neither of us are talkers and the car ride was mostly silent. It was great and it drove my wife nuts that we didn’t talk about anything.

--Way back in the day I used to really enjoy snagging the table at the original Ramsey's, the one in the corner right by the door. Wood take a book, order a few drinks, and when the mood hit get the fried chicken breast, creamed corn, and mashed potatoes w/ white gravy. When the fire trucks would roll out from across the street free drinks for everybody.

--Now in my 40's I enjoy a good movie by myself. Sneak in some Nestle Crunch bites, order a small popcorn w/ extra butter, and a Cherry Coke. The old lady doesn't care to see a movie so it's a nice 2.5 hour to myself.

-- now, if i ever have the opportunity to sit at the bar and eat I'm all about it.

Point is I relish whatever time i can get to myself, loved ones be damned

Sitting alone at a table is weird as F.

Be a man and belly up to the bar, weirdo.

This is rich. Guess you also enjoy sitting next to chatty Cathy on an airplane. The majority of people are annoying as F and too self absorbed to realize the misery they cast on others who randomly encounter them. I’ll be just fine at my table enjoying a quite meal after being social with accounts throughout the day.

I would much rather sit alone than be a dick when Tammy tells me about her tomato plants and her 8 cats while I’m sitting at the bar.

Weirdo

I would say it depends on the frame of mind of the person at the time of said aloneness.
On on hand it’s a pleasure to sit alone and eat at a table. On those occasions if approached by someone else I’ll gladly give a first strike “go TF away now.” Then I’ll go back to enjoying my aloneness.
Most times I actually like sitting among the civilians especially if it’s a bar. I have this uncanny ability to just listen to others conversing quietly and at just the right moment inject a quick statement/stat that completely turns everything upside down. Then I just nonchalantly watch them turn on each other. Usually ending in a screaming match or all out fight.
For me it’s a win-win either way.

Was watching some NBA coverage yesterday on the trade deadline, it's just wild that there was no market at ALL for Andre Drummond - 2 time AS in his prime, averaging 18 & 16 (leads NBA).

The classic Big Man is truly dead.

Dumbest thing you've ever purchased to eat from a gas station?

For me, it's deviled eggs and fried chicken liver (not on the same occasion). Both solid choices from reputable places, but that was possibly two of my riskiest moves. It turned out fine, but damn, not smart.
