I respect your intuition on that, and it’s a natural reaction, but rural healthcare in our state is pretty bad. I get to see a lot of those facilities in my day to day business, and it’s a pretty big eye opener when you compare them to what we’re used to in Lex-Lou-NKY.
Those EMS guys probably save a lot of lives by making the drive to Lexington/Louisville (and also make a lot of $$ for the runs).
They’re also often bound by insurance policies etc to not drive above 65, (ir)regardless.
I can’t imagine how many cans those dudes run through driving all over the state all day.

Plus, Medicaid reimbursements. They’re not letting anything go that they don’t absolutely have to.
Correct, also the Medicare premiums for procedures at rural hospitals are slowly disappearing...as will rural hospitals.

-Intrigued by this Georgetown/Duke matchup tonight. I think Duke wins by double digits, but I could see it still tight at the under-4:00 timeout mark. Omer Yurtseven is a vet who can bang with Carey, and GU's backcourt doesn't mess around. If you haven't seen that honk guard for Georgetown(yes, I said that right), you should check him out. It's a bit startling to see a caucasian in a Hoya uniform(he and Nate Lubick are the only two I can think of in the past 35 years), but he can really play.
-Speaking of honk guards, guess I underestimated Nico Mannion. Knew he'd be good, but I thought pubs putting him 1st Team AA were way overestimating his impact. I still think other guards are better, but he's strong, and fun to watch.
-Watched a few minutes of UCLA/Hofstra last night and saw some nice offensive possessions for UCLA, and traditional Cronin toughness on the defensive end and the glass. Thought to myself "well, maybe Cronin will get them into the tourney this year after all." Woke up to see that they lost to Hofstra. So yeah.
-Only 10 hours until we see Rupp Arena empty seat pics. Can't wait.
-Youngest is pumped about "Frozen II". Oldest is a teenager so she's not pumped about ANYTHING BECAUSE EVERYTHING IN THE WORLD IS TERRIBLE. I'm pumped about "Richard Jewell". I think that film looks outstanding.

Every time I go to the DMV, Wal Mart, an amusement park, large outdoor concert festival, or sporting event, I look around at the crowd and think......"wow, the health care in this country is amazing."

The biggest difference is message boards are typically people with, for the most part, the same interest. Twitter is everything under the sun.
Brian Kelly was a part of the Hoyas rotation in 90/91 and 91/92. He was a juco transfer from Cincinnati State. Wasn't great, but he played a lot.

You see a lot of bad health 'management" evidence in those places as well
And sometimes people's choices override their options - and even the quality of and access to- healthcare
I think it's really more of the preventive angles -- the public health / behavioral epidemiology component that's TRULY bad
But.....there are healthcare systemic issues on more than one front as well
just sent my final undeniable piece of documentation for the Lexington move - still can't believe that I'm going to be there ....living......and.........interacting and stuff
So - just quick opinions on which one of these places you'd move to in the order of "overall best place to live"

I just hope that those ambulance services shop Kroger so that they can save using Kroger fuel points. I would think they use a lot of fuel making all of those runs.

Focusing on the places where you can actually get a few acres, Georgetown and Paris are going to be the "nicest" places on the list, but Richmond probably has more conveniences than those two.

Boones Trace subdivision in northern madison county seems pretty cool. You don't want to live in Richmond. Boone's Trace is conveniently situated close to Richmond and Lexington, in a somewhat secluded and guarded neighborhood on a hill surrounded by the KY River.
