I think it's fair to say that both systems suck in their own way. People will argue until they're red in the face that the other system is awful, and both have legitimate points. If healthcare was easy to solve, it'd be solved already.

Further, hard to solve problems become even harder to solve when each side has a galactic sized financial stake in the outcome, and the people in charge of solving the problem are beholden to both voters and donors, each with competing interests. Thus, nothing ever gets done, and nothing probably ever will get done, except in a half-assed way that everyone hates, but for different reasons. So here we are.

Enjoy your day!

People are human. How in the world do you solve their health, and why would you even care to try...if it weren't about money.

Do we have a full roster tonight or nah? I care about our teams health because I'm a selfish bastard, and these kids need to be in tip top shape so they make my big blue dreams come true.

“I don’t know, Mashburn. You’ll have to check with the doctors and trainers. I haven’t seen EJ since we left New York 2 1/2 weeks ago. We’ll see who we can go with.”

What does the physical appearance of someone have to do with the health care system?

Well, considering at least 40% of Americans are obese, and 8% morbidly obese, which leads the industrialized world, that’s a problem. And considering that obesity directly leads to high blood pressure, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, arthritis, cancer, stroke, and the majority of the health care cost in the country, the majority of what is almost entirely preventable, not to mention barely even exists in scores of other countries around the world, many of whom spend a tiny fraction of what we do in the US to treat illness....I mean, I think it’s at least somewhat relevant.

JMHO, you F’ing nitwit troll.

But it also will show things people you follow like. I follow Kyle Tucker for UK stuff but if he likes a tweet from AOC I see it whether I want to or not.
People can and do talk about politics on message boards too including bringing up AOC. Also one of her tweets can easily be posted here too.

What's funny is the sections that were completely empty, and the photo that is being used, are all student sections. Those bastards never show up.

Hearing Cal's fan shaming every single year will take a combined total of 1838 days off Billy Joe's life, I guarantee you that. He can kiss all the asses. Nobody is leaving their well outfitted home to go watch LAMAR on a rainy fall night. That fat man is just jealous he can't sit in his recliner and watch this crap on his TV above the fireplace with a nice steak in his lap wondering why we have 7 total players + Joel and Tony on our bench.

Have fun, funk. Hope it doesn't ruin your relationship with your family.

Television has slowly killed the joy of attending sporting events in person. The momentum-killing long timeouts, the watered down home schedules, the over commercialization and advertising.....I get it.

I missed like 2 home basketball games as a UK student. Was I turbo psyched about every opponent? Hardly. But I realized pretty early that I probably had a limited time where I could easily go to every UK home game and I was taking advantage. #diehard

What do student tickets cost these days anyways?

Hopefully we can keep it close tonight and have a chance at the end.

Pretty sure like 30% of healthcare costs are for end of life care in a sick or elderly persons last 6 months of life so just kill the terminally ill and it’ll help a lot, frankly.

also if you’re a disgusting fatass with lots of health issues because of it you don’t really deserve cheap, world class healthcare. Just my opinion of course.

I went to like 10 b-ball games my entire time in undergrad

You should have listed this obvious explanation to begin with versus the completely irrelevant and shallow (typical for you) judgement of others. Color me not surprised, but I am impressed with your concern, which you typically dismiss.

-this thread is much better cause a lot of the folks either know or have at least met other posters. Most that don't/haven't have at least have knowledge of/history with others that spans a lot of time.

-that said, post something interesting or get back to lurking.

Ok - anyone live near Merrick Place?

That’s apparently the neighborhood where I will be able to initially get set up and started

My aunt offered it up since it’ll be empty until around March and I can use the interim period for settling in....

I’m often a late night walker ....so - the “i might be your neighbor soon” public service announcements may as well begin there ...

apparently I was a topic of concern with my neighborhoods Facebook page and associated “bestie groups “

Florida is loaded with ballers 10 deep. Once they get their **** together they're gonna be tough to handle - they *should* be a top 5 team this particular season imo.

I probably went to 7-8 home games during my 3.5 years at UK. Have always preferred watching hoops at home.

I'm one of the sad sacks going to tonight's game. 2 hour trip each way. And I'm going solo because nobody else wanted to go.
Not sure if that makes me stupid, dedicated, or somewhere in between. But I still enjoy watching games in person.
I only make it to about 5 home games a year these days, though.

The student section is a joke. Touch those spoiled little brats. It has been sad for the past several years.

Students aren’t going because it’s a boring, ****** game. All this super fan flexing is rather ironic and comical when the arena is mostly empty. I mean, student tickets ($5) are about as expensive as general admission — free, basically.

I’m certainly not going to stress too hard wondering why more fans don’t attend an uninteresting event.

Students used to go to the ****** games. Now they don't.

Hell, we used to fill every seat for the blue white game. Now we don't.

I guess mindlessly staring at your phone for hours on end is more interesting to most people these days.

Dammit. You'd rather play on Tinder and run 100 miles than help our Cats win a hard-fought game over the Evansville Aces. It is your fault we lost...

That gets you a spot on the ***** bus.

The November Mount St. Mary's game wasn't on TV 10 years ago (or 25 years ago when some of you were in college)

It's not exactly a huge secret why people went to the game then but don't now.

Wouldn't be caught dead at Rupp for a Friday night game when I was in school...game time would have interfered with my nap before going out for a Friday evening bender.
