-yep. We have the best healthcare/life expectancy (its a shade down from its peak...but the point remains)/tech/food security and such. Most first worlders have no *real* problems...so we gotta find/manufacturer **** to be stressed about. Boredom is dangerous.

I'm pretty sure research disagrees, but admittedly I just did a quick Google. I think we're 53rd in life expectancy and WHO's rankings of overall healthcare systems put us at 37th.
Love to be wrong though and still be AMERICA F*CK YEAH in every category of all things.

-since you brought it up: the delta in life expectancy is only a few years max in all developed nations. Drug related gun violence skews the number a bit...take that out and we look a bit better.
-cost to individual is what drags the US healthcare "rank" lower...not quality/innovation. While id like to be ranked as high as western Europe/Japan...they've had a head start/extra cash what with not paying for their own national security for 70 years. In essense the USA subsidized their healthcare systems that they crow about.

Canadian healthcare sucks. A couple years ago, I had a double MRI on my knees (got the second one just because I asked for it) and it took 10 days to get it. In Ontario, at the time, the wait for one MRI was 100+ days (and I doubt they’d just give me one at all -just from asking for it).
On the violence tip, Re:Great Britain, last year I ran the numbers and found that I, as a middle-aged white guy, was 7x more likely to be a victim of violent crime in GB than the US.

I love and drink scotch regularly and drink black label, J&B, and Dewars at bars as my go to. Bourbon is too sweet for my tastes *ducks*

I would like to submit my Tuesday example to those who say minorities don't get equal healthcare. I pulled up to one of my apartments on Tuesday afternoon right after lunch, to see an ambulance with lights going. I asked several tenant onlookers what the emergency was.
Me: what's wrong, who is hurt?
Mr Crawford: it's Merriweather
Me: what happened to Charles? ( He is late 30's, fully healthy male)
Mr Crawford: he think he got the flu
Stretcher comes out of apartment with Charles on it, because he thinks he has the flu. It's cheaper than taking the bus I guess.
