I'm kind of with PTI on this one.

Murder, while not the norm amongst pro athletes, is fairly commonplace. Raping 70 year old women though, that's carving out a whole section of weird, all to yourself.
It’s a tough call, really.

We all lose this one.

From KSR just now, apparently Shawnkel Knight-Goff has decommitted.

"Even though Shawnkel Knight-Goff recently decommitted, Stoops said he still feels good about what could be an historic recruiting class."

It is interesting the priority people place on issues.

Finally listened to the Jocko podcast with Dakota Meyer...damn. Talk about having a bad day. Pretty crazy how much he hates his medal. I mean, he totally deserves it for his actions being placed in a completely awful situation. Valor above and beyond the call of duty. But he sees it as his greatest failure since he wasn’t able to save his friends. Worth a listen.

That was a great listen, but it will piss you off how those guys were flat out denied support. I don’t understand how/why that happens.

Yeah. Whole mission was very poorly planned, he knew it and nobody listened to him. Just a perfect storm of everything going wrong at once.

He was really good on the Rogan podcast recently too. Must say i admire his perspective given everything he’s been through.

Getting My Everloving Friday Random On:

- Lass and I taking the kids to a pumpkin patch later this morning. Whole school is going, so I’m sure it will be very organized and relaxing.

- After lots of consideration, little man settled on the Into the Spider-Verse (awesome movie, by the way)/Miles Morales version of Spider-Man. So fun watching how much they enjoy this time of year.

- I know the checkerboard uniforms cause a lot of controversy, but that Secretariat statue at the roundabout is incredibly impressive. Awesome way to welcome tourists coming from that direction into town.

- We ended up settling on AT&T TV for streaming and are very happy. Problem I see coming down the road is all of these companies starting their own streaming service (e.g. Disney/Marvel/Fox, NBC both coming soon) and eventually having to pay more and more for everything you want.

- I’ve made it clear I want him on the team very badly, but people need to chill out on Cade and let it play out.

- As a father of a young son, that story about Wenyen and Hami cussing someone just for asking for an autograph is pretty disheartening. I’ve always maintained athletes are not necessarily supposed to be role models, but not cool.

- Basketball around the corner has me ready for my annual viewing of Above The Rim. All. Time. Classic.

- Throwback Campus Snackdown: Ovid’s Spicy Beef Wrap. Thankfully I had the metabolism to handle it back then.

- Not looking great for his team right now, but pretty cool that Altuve was a LEXINGTON LEGEND.

- Are people serious with these scooters?

- Tiger

- Cats pull off the win tomorrow in a gritty, old school gridiron showdown.

I just can't understand why people get so bent on abortion/pro life.

Because it's a matter of protecting the sanctity of life for those of us that are pro-life and believe life starts at conception. Abortion is the single greatest genocide that this nation has ever known. It has been used as population control, gender control, and even limiting the black race if you want to go back to Margaret Sanger beliefs.

RvW will never get overturned, but adding clauses and certain restrictions which limit the free reign to get abortions has decreased the # that occur the last few years. I get it's a subject that will always have debate politically and socially, and each party has members that are for/against.

I may be a one helluva sinner in some facets of life that I work on daily, but I am a strong pro-life advocate, and it plays a role in my Christian values.

I am friends with people on both sides of the subject and everyone has a right to their beliefs. Same w/ the people on here I have met....I would buy anyone here a beer and talk about anything....a lot of good people on this board but the message board banter can lead to wrong impressions.

-WT should be about 2' under ground level now given that it's been sinking 2" a year. Can't believe the architects didn't take the weight of the books into consideration.

-I'm the bread winner, so I have life insurance. $1M per kid which I've been told is responsible. Pushing my part-time working wife to get a policy for herself. I mean, that would be a decent little silver lining? After the funeral, everyone gets back to their lives, and this sly old dog gets a real nice chunk of cash, folks. WOULD HELP is all.

-Fall 2019 breakfast: toasted wheat with peanut butter, glass of 2%.

-I didn't hate the no helmet stripe look as much as I thought I would, but I still prefer it. Hoping to wear blue and white tomorrow night but have a feeling it's an anthracite out.

-Shelve the chrome lids for a bit. Tired. JMO.

-We build public monuments for horses that win gambling competitions but won't allow casinos. K.

-Oktoberfest season for me. I need the holidays in sight before getting off the true pilsners.

-Still brokering RE deals, but took a position over the summer within a niche industry of the CRE world. Work remotely. Not one person in the firm is over 38 years old. Only way to live in 2019, folks. It's going to take a lot to get me back in a traditional office setting full time at this point. Or working for baby boomers for that matter.

-DISCLOSURE: feeling a bit excited about Kentucky Basketball this season.

-Songs about youth, childhood, growing up, parenting, etc. are killing me these days. These aren't revolutionary or obscure pieces of music, but the sentiment is what matters.

A few favorites:

"Father and Daughter" Paul Simon
"Beautiful Boy" John Lennon
"Growing Up" Bruce Springsteen
"In My Fathers Eyes" Eric Clapton

-It might just be the new work, but enjoying the moment a bit in life. It's short. Bad times and things are going to return and I accept that, but being cognizant of the good times is necessary.

Every so often I'll stumble across one of these articles, and it always helps me remember:

This is the worst it will ever be. :cool2:

Middle age is miserable.

At least, that’s the implication of a new survey of 2,000 people from U.K. theater chain Cineworld, which found that life is “least fun” at age 45. Additionally, more than half of people say that finding fun in everyday life gets harder the older you get.

Previous research supports the idea that middle age is rough. Data from the U.K.’s Office of National Statistics (ONS), which looked at the well-being of more than 300,000 adults over three years, found that people ages 40-59 were the least happy and most anxious.

In fact, there is a “happiness curve,” and it bottoms out in midlife, Jonathan Rauch, author of “The Happiness Curve,” explained to MarketWatch’s Alessando Malito. “The happiness curve is how aging, independent of other things, affects your happiness and it is U-shaped,” Rauch said. “It turns out the aging process drags your happiness down through your 40s, bottoms out around 50, and then aging increases your happiness for the rest of your life.”

So what causes this midlife slump? The ONS researchers suggest that the juggling of the multitude of responsibilities in middle age could be to blame, including “the burden caused by having to care for both parents and children at the same time.” Some 23% of American adults balance caring for their kids and their parents, and they often face financial challenges as a result, a 2015 Pew Research Center report found.

So while you might think that you're frustrated about a close, low scoring loss in the Elite 8 to an inferior team, but in reality, it's your kids that you should be angry at.

Her: MFer I’ll leave your *** right now and take half everything you got......how about that for insurance

Your wives 100% need life insurance, and it’s preposterous if they get offended, insulted, or upset by it.

Without serious health issues they should be able to get a million dollar policy for very cheap. One would think they’d like it if their husband could take a little time to grieve, pay off the house, and put the kids through college in the wake of her devastating death. Get your wives **** together, boys.

^ No kidding. It should come as a shock to no one that if my wife dies, dog dad is raking. (but I hope she lives to 100 :))

-Also, that little nausea pang SAE gets when one of us talks about wearing sandals -- I get the same thing when he talks about drinking a glass of milk, especially for lunch.

Sorry for sharing the good news about American agriculture, Adrian

A couple glasses a day of ice cold product is a must.
