Watching “Fear”- what a classic 90s film. Ridic soundtrack, made Reece Witherspoon a star, legitimized Marky Mark, showcased Seattle during its grunge peak and furthered Alyssa Milano’s argument as one of the hottest babes of the decade. Have probably watched this movie a dozen times but none in the last 15 years.

It is not going to work, but keep trying.

George is the best county name.

George Strait
George Jones

Merle is a pretty good one also.

Alyssa Milano should have won an Oscar for "Embrace of the Vampire."

:pimp:

Got "Wife is still pissed" drunk Saturday night. Effin UK.

Cassina Saturday sounds perfect, actually. Some good games to sit back, have a few, and thrown some coin on every game being broadcast.

Man, induction cooktops are dope AF. Big time chefs are switching from all gas to electric cooking.

Had one in a condo once. Nice, but have to use cast iron or stainless steel pots. Rudd probably has fancy copper that won’t work.

Does get hot AF with a quickness.

Have too many various kitchen gadgets/appliances. The most in-use at the moment is an egg cooker. Those aren't bad to have around.

Why hate on Vern Gosdin? "The Voice" could croon.

Conway Twitty is the total embodiment of the the misunderstood history of country music, particularly as it's compared to today's garbage. There exists this unsubstantiated belief that the genre has changed, and that decades past showcased artists who were nothing but rebels and outlaws, and that couldn't be further from the truth.

Here's the rap on Twitty....

- barely played instrument
- dad bod/chubby
- wore size smedium tops, unbuttoned, with poofed out chest hair
- had a terrible whitefro
- spent his first decade as a rock musician and a bad actor
- barely wrote music
- his entire catalog was corny love songs

He's got some bangers, but he's nothing more than an Atlantic City lounge act with a twangy voice. I mean, the dudes from Florida-Georgia Line are country boy, redneck, backwoods badasses compared to that cat. He's whatev, but just know......the genre has been putting out complete and utter pansyfied horse manure forever. And he's your proof.

[pfftt]Idiot. Stick with what you might know. It's not country music.

No, there doesn’t. I’ve seen no one else pushing this premise, anywhere, other than you.

It’s cool you apparently discovered a used copy of No Depression floating around a barber shop circa 2006 and thereafter decided to curate a persona built around trendy Americana and Outlaw! music, but you clearly don’t know **** about country music.

If I ever get on twitter, it is solely going to be to tweet Conway Twitty lyrics to THE WOKE.

"@vegancatmom I see the want to in your eyes."

The genre has changed...if you can't see that, then you may want to stick to watching doorbell vids.

Conway was drafted which prevented him from joining the Phillies and playing MLB.

He lived in Northwest Mississippi and Helena, AR.....you aren't getting more backwoods than that.

He wrote 11 of his 40 #1 hits.

Mentioning Conway and Fl-GA Line in the same breath pretty much means your ignorance knows no bounds.

Awful, awful, post.

Shorts:

- This Askew recruitment is getting interesting. Mack’s throwing the kitchen sink at him but I think the team and role we’re offering maybe too much to pass up. Tucker seems fairly confident and I never doubt Joel Justus.

- Won’t be as spectacular as others but this backcourt with two guys returning has a chance to be one of Cal’s more solid units- especially defensively. Hagans needs more discipline- but that can come with experience. Quick does a good job. And Maxey has a great two-way rep. Should be able to dog people starting their offense.

- @Wildcat Willy - how was San Francisco?

- The Spy with Sasha Baron Cohen in a serious role is pretty good on Netflix.

- Last night’s Country episode was pretty much all Hank, and of course, outstanding.

- Meh - Chase and PTI are actually two of my favorites on here.

- Media needs to get a little more specific when reporting sexual assaults- are we talking rape or groping. Neither are acceptable but there’s a huge difference.

- My all-time favorite documentaries:

1. Civil War- Ken Burns
2. OJ: Made in America
3. Hoop Dreams
4. Baseball- Ken Burns
5. Making a Murderer

This is pretty accurate actually, if you swap out a few details.

He moved to Knoxville, heard 'Carry On' by Pat Green, immediately bought a truck and became Americana Outlaw super-runner Ursch seemingly overnight.

* So, we're competing with Alabama and Georgia for a dude named "Vito Tisdale?" Yes, please.

* Headline from The Onion....

Ben Roethlisberger Assures Women of Pittsburgh He's Not Done Yet

[thumb2][thumb2]

* I get it. I like Conway Twitty ironically, too. But Luke Bryan is a rebel outlaw redneck country backwoods badass compared to that guy.

Don't f'ing blame me for spittin' the truth. FYI: here he is in a pink leisure suit and white patent leather shoes singing a cheesy romantic song in a cheap Reno casino lounge. What an animal.

* Good night for legacy MLBers last night. Mike Yastrzremski hits a homer in his Fenway debut, and Cavan Biggio goes 4-fer-5 in hitting for the cycle for the Blue Jays.

* My confidence will increase each passing hour until Saturday's game. Just have a really good feeling about this team this year. Hope they prove me right.

Did Pti even pay attention to the country music era when Conway was rolling? The styles were all over the board (unlike the untuckit/jeans look EVERYONE wears now) Jones, Conway, Porter, Campbell, Rich, Cash, Waylon, etc.....

Yeah, they all dressed like that. I'm not going to sit here and defend Conway F*cking Twitty, regardless if I'm(and MCF) probably the only one who's been to Twitty City, Tn.

However, Pop Country has been around for decades, Bro Country is terrible.

A person born and raised in the southern United States in the first half of the 20th century has more “authenticity” (if that’s what we’re calling it) in his left patent leather loafer than someone born in the same region after 1975.

Learn society.

I hope you aren't knocking cowboy boots. Own 6 pair and wear almost daily.

Stages West in Pigeon Forge, FTW. Only time I ever go up to that area.

Chicago:

-Woke up Sunday to a raucous 4 year old ready to board an airplane to Chicago. Felt like I was walking on small boat in a rough sea after way too many draft beers trying to calm my nerves Saturday. Large coffee, in my last clean Tervis, a couple Coca-Cola Classics, cheeseburger, and a beer got me back on track.

-Thanks to Clark for the Hotel Zachery recommendation. Perfect. Room overlooked Wrigley.

-Happy Camper, serves a lovely wood fired oven pizza that's not 3 inches deep with thick *** dough. Watched the Bears pull off a nice comeback with a tavern full of fans.

-Shedd Aquarium. Had the place to ourselves and saw everything by 11:30a right as the crowd was rolling in and followed up with an Italian Beef. Place is amazing. Props to them for sticking a gift shop every 5'.

-The Wrigleyville setup is phenomenal. Once G saw that turf field it was all I could do for the next 24 hours to keep him off it. Finally got a ball and went out to play catch a few hours before the game.

-Wrigley itself is fantastic. My only gripe is, it's too well done, everything is basically brand new in the place. It didn't feel like I was watching it in an old time park. Regardless, I really enjoyed it, place was awesome as I assumed, and the fans were great.

-Early flight out yesterday and home by noon. Little dude was a trooper.
