-Also Shady Rays are TERRIBLE sunglasses that scratch with a slight breeze. Not even with it even though they’ll replace them for free.

- And for the guys that can’t get in cold water, try or maybe don’t a cold tub. It’s fantastic and super good for you. I disagree that wading in is the way. If you slowly get into cold water/tub, you’ll never get all the way in. Rip off the bandaid as they say. “Comfort is a Slow Death, Prefer Pain”

-That DR team was probably the worst team we've played in one of these tourneys but it was good to see us beat the brakes off some grown men.

-Man crush on Livingston. They had him down with 8 boards, no chance, he had 10+ easy. He was all over the place. Grabbing loose balls, aside from running breaks/ sweet dimes/ hitting 3's, is a helluva sign for a guy like him. We seemingly had a revolving door of freakish 5* athletes at the 3/4 spot that are disappointing. Be awesome if he really breaks the mold. He looked the part.

-Ware, Collins, Reeves, Wallace and Toppin all looked great. Oscar did what he does in a limited role. Wheeler finally turned it on at the end.

-Is this Heaven? No, It's Iowa.

- Man that was cool. I’ve had some great seats, especially during the college student days but have never been that close to the action. The length and athleticism is what stands out, and Wheeler’s quickness.

- We had a boys night- me, my FIL and Ed, who’s hosting us this week. They took turns telling stories about the old Bahamas - basically the Wild West. My FIL moved here in the late 60s after seeing a newspaper ad in London about an accountant position. Ed moved here from Canada in the mid-80s turning down a chance to be on the professional bass fishing tour. Was a really fun night.

- Guys who most impressed me (not best necessarily):

* Collins- just a freak but showed some skill and strength. Kid’s a pro.

* Reeves- an absolute bucket, HAS to start

* Thiero- this isn’t a game comparison but reminds me of Fitch and D. Hawkins in that after watching him play a minute you can tell he knows how to play the game. Has a nose for the ball. Pretty athletic. Looks much much younger than everyone else. We may need him for depth at the 3.

* Livingston- What a soft touch and looks like a man already; off one game, I like him better than Toppin

* Wallace- everything they say is correct; solid, smart, strong, athletic. Good shot.

- Bahamar is ridiculous. So nice.

- Ran into the Beans on the way out. Sloot should have received a picture.

- So hard ranking UK players. They’re all my children. Easier to give a Top 5 most disliked but even root hard for those guys. I guess I’d put Turner, Epps and MKG up top.

- Boated a bit yesterday. Doing a little deep sea fishing today depending upon the wind and water.

Did they mean Reuben sandwich?

Unless the owners know a dude named Ruben and it is his favorite sandwich.

Some nuclear quotes by Cal in the Tucker article today. Not necessarily wrong but damn, I could see how Mitch and Stoops are like WTF dude.
Well...we're waiting.

NFL training camp notes via a twitter search:

- Wan'Dale Robinson is going to be the starting slot WR and has had a great camp
- Lynn Bowden hasn't got very many reps and the Dolphins might look to trade him. They are pretty stacked at WR so this wouldn't be a bad thing. Want to see him stick somewhere.
- Paschal had a sports hernia and is ahead of schedule per the coach.

“This is a basketball school… always has been. Yes I want football to be good but this is a basketball school.”

“everybody should be behind this”

“he wants a facility in the center of campus and he’s not gonna wait for Mitch to greenlight it, he’ll raise the $$ himself”

The last one are Kyle tucker’s words on cal’s view of it all.

Also, says it should be done FOR the state.

I thought it was a bit insulting to the state, moreso than Stoops.

Yes, we need you billionaires to build some science research and basketball thing! No, we need you to win some basketball championships and stfu.

A practice facility in the middle of campus seems like a weird request, the majority of the new stuff on campus is on North Campus where the current facility is.

He just see the giant open space where the towers use to be a decide it should be theirs?

Calipari is no stranger to raising money on his own for projects he’s too impatient to wait for someone else to build. In 2012, with just a few phone calls, he rounded up several million dollars to upgrade the locker rooms at Rupp Arena.

“They showed me the locker room. It smelled like urine. Pee! That’s what it smelled like. You know why it smelled like pee? The circus was in there the week before,” Calipari said Thursday. “Do you know what elephants do? They pee. How about a giraffe. Did you ever see a giraffe pee? It’s five minutes. So now all of a sudden, you figure out that the entire building had one unit that heated and cooled everything, including the locker room. So if it was 90 degrees in that arena, it was 90 degrees in that locker room. One-oh-five? Do you know what pee does at 105? And I went in and said, ‘We can’t do this.’ Now when people go in, they say there’s not a better locker room. How many years ago did we do it? That locker room will be fine for another 10 years.

“And the reason is, this is a basketball school. It’s always been that,” he said. “Alabama is a football school. So is Georgia. I mean, they are. No disrespect to our football team. I hope they win 10 games and go to bowls. At the end of the day, that makes my job easier and it makes the job of all of us easier. But this is a basketball school. And so we need to keep moving in that direction and keep doing what we’re doing.”

As for Stoops...
