- Good hearing from Swimmer and really internet to see how this turns out for Rogue. I think it’s a good thing.

- Traveling with a toddler is not for the meek of heart.

- Passed on a duty-free bottle of Blantons for the trip, as GYERO voices of summer bourbon indifference echoed. Think I made a mistake.

- But things are looking up. Had a handful of Sands Lights last night and am now by myself at our friends’ house getting ready to take a dip while my wife, daughter and everyone else is going shopping. Life is good. Brothers-in-law and niece arrive at 3pm. Going to be great having the gang together.

- We’re visiting my MIL’s best friend who’s 92, her daughter, son-in-law and their daughter who’s in town from college and turning 20. Really good people. My wife’s remarked a few times there’s a decent chance this is the last time everyone is together.

- Will be hitting the beach at Olde Fort Bay, going boating, doing some fishing, probably dinner one night at Bahamar, and then Big Blue vs. Dominican Republic Thursday night.

- First vacation in 3 year, not counting a few long weekends. Not a moment too soon.

- Take care and look for me in the stands Thursday night.

Hope you’re enjoying the beach, wcc. It rained 4 inches here this morning and it’s not stopping. It’s like damned April all of a sudden.

So much for my wide open Saturday. Guess I’ll sit in the basement and do eighteen loads of laundry.

Also am somewhat hungover from sitting up until 2 watching music videos on my phone. I am an idiot.

He probably assumed you weren't a *****.
He assumed right. Both bicep tendons detached, tricep tendon detached, and major rotator cuff tear. I continued to work for three months after the injury and before the surgery. You can make whatever catpaw assumptions you want, but you and I are extremely similar in real life. Have a good weekend, buddy.

Quick notes from fan day:

Beckwith looked like an all-pro DE physically. Dude is a monster.

Deone Walker and Barrion Brown made some nice plays.

The transfer RB, Jefferson, looked very good.

This might be the best group of LBs we've ever had at UK.

Levis was off a bit in 11v11s. Threw several INTs. Not a concern yet, this is the first live action in pads since last season.

The WR group improvements are amazing considering where we were two seasons ago.

Pass rush looks like it will be much better than last season.

I think Levis will be better, but his accuracy and ability to go through progressions was not great last year. I’d be lying if I said that concern wasn’t still sitting in the back of my head.
I kind of wish we had Coen back this year. Dude had a miraculous ability to scheme to give Levis a doable throw to Robinson seemingly every time it mattered. I mean, our receivers / tight ends were sparse.

The new guy looks pretty awesome but Coen seemed to instinctively know how to put Levis in the best possible situations.

I think most of us have that same concern. I’m still trying to figure out how his national ranking, and draft stock, has risen so far since he last played a game. I hope we’re getting the QB all those experts assume he’ll be. We know he’s good, but will he be top ten in the draft good? Or even first round good? His play could easily be the difference between a 9 or 10-win season, or a 12-win season.

Well all I can say is if it’s Levis you are concerned with that makes us a 12 win team, we are in good hands.

If nothing else he’ll be better because we are better as a whole than we were last year.

Lots of interceptions can be attributed to inexperienced WRs.

bought 5 sticks of AVO synchro caribe cigars. Knob single barrel pick holding up nicely.

on my beach house veranda. Budos band on the Sonos Roam. Bourbon szn still. Barrel Seagrass rye next.

staring at a crepe myrtle. Mesmerized as Wynn gummy kicking in.

Levis is tall, strong, and has a huge arm. That alone puts him in the discussion for a 1st round pick.

I share the same concerns about his accuracy. I think he’ll be very good this year, but not Heisman caliber. That talk is definitely crazy imho.

I think a lot of the national attention has to do with his running ability, in addition to the cannon of an arm, obviously. People are in love with that now and see him in the Josh Allen / Mahomes mold, and figure he is the perfect fit for today’s game. We might take his running ability for granted because we’re so used to having an extraordinary rushing attack, Lynn Bowden, etc, but go back and rewatch his film from the UL game where he puts his cleats into the face of every linebacker and db on their team. Dude can absolutely truck, as we all well know, but draft dorks are in love with that.

I’m a little hesitant on all this talk myself, but I still think he’s going to have an outstanding season. Plus, imagine the amount of clean white girl puss he is slaying.

You know who else was tall, athletic, strong, could run, and had a big arm? Jake Locker.

Just being a contrarian. If Jake Locker can be a 1st round draft pick, then Levis can be a top 10 pick. Levis has already accomplished more.

Buuuuuuut *whispers* Levis is more Jake Locker than he is Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen. Let’s be real a second. I care about y’all.

Most of the Levis hype goes back to his performance at the Manning Passing Academy. Since then he's been seen with Couch, Tom Brady, Tim Tebow, etc at different events, so those two things have caught the media's attention.

He's got all the measurables that you want for a modern NFL QB. He's got to show he has the decision making and accuracy, if he does that the sky is the limit for this team and where he gets drafted.

This has the potential to be the best UK team in our lifetime. I think 8 wins is the floor.

I think we’re going to win 9 games. 10 if things break right. For the latter to happen, we have to avoid the annual Miss St and/or UT bedshitting. Every damned year it seems we manage to lay an egg in at least one of those games. UT is a lot better now, so who knows, but I am already feeling preemptive redass for the MSU game.

I have no real expectations other than a bowl game. However, I’m aware enough that best case scenario we play UGA at home undefeated for the SEC East with a legit chance to get a W. Besides that, we could lose a game along the way and still have a W in that game to own a tiebreaker.

There is a chance there for that and until I see game action that says we aren’t there yet with this group then that’s where I’m at. Bowl game as the floor, SEC East as best case.

Part of my confidence is depth and our strengths bold well for the SEC run. Our biggest weakness is secondary which doesn’t scare me at all because our DL can pressure and our LBers can keep teams at 3rd and 7 or worse where we can give a little space and let natural talent overcome inexperience.
