- Continue to be impressed by Ryan Holiday's work. His books are powerful, short reads, his Twitter account always produces good stuff, and his podcast (both the short daily talks and the longform conversations) are always worth a listen. Big fan.
- Visit to Rupp last night was a bit surreal. All the construction, the new exhibit space, and the new (temporary, I think) entrance was all pretty disorienting. Probably about 3,000 people in attendance. Variety of ages, and about 60 percent in masks. I kept mine with me, but only put it on in situations where I couldn't avoid being at least a few feet away from people. Don't think it was by design, but nobody sat directly in front/behind/next to us, so that was nice. Probably the biggest negative was the fact that all the ice cream stands were closed.
- Proof that nobody actually reads anything anymore...I got probably three reminders from Rupp over the past week or so about their "clear bag" policy. But we probably saw at least 100 women (or, more frequently, their husbands/boyfriends) grumbling while taking their purses back to vehicles in the rain. Just pay attention, people.
- Comedy in an arena has to be weird. I doubt Gaffigan could see faces other than the ones in the very front row. The sound is cavernous. He was shown on two huge screens next to the stage. And there was probably a bit of a delay in laughs coming from such a big room. Still, he put on a good show. Not my favorite, but definitely up there.
- Rome read two of my tweets this week, so the earth is healing, atkot.
- It's kinda weak when someone wishes you a happy birthday on Facebook by commenting on someone else's birthday wishes post. Do your own work, slacker.
- That clip of Adem Bona blocking Chet Holmgren, then sprinting back down the floor to get into post position, then displaying a nice finishing move in the post....I'm digging it. Get on board, Big Bona Lick.
