-That game last night was just awesome. Baseball has plenty of issues but they nailed that sucker. Good read from NYT.

-I know why it was the Yankees but it should've ben vs the Reds. Only mess up.

-What about James Earl Jones' voice? Shew.

-Being a dad has sparked that love for baseball I had as a kiddo. We were always a baseball first family and Dad is a the guy that always thinks the Reds are about to make a run at the pennant. Grandpa loved the Yankees and Dodgers before they moved.

-Believe I saw White Sox had only walked off the Yanks like 18 times, the first being.............. Joe Jackson. 👻

-Speaking of unvaxed/vaxed:
*I'm "OK" with concerts and events requiring proof. Not a terrible strategy to get that 20-50 range #s up. Just not interested in gubment mandating it.
*Numbers are looking pretty good(comparatively) this surge. Younger patients are meaning a lot less deaths and shorter hospital stays. Plus, we have done a really good job getting the older demo vaxed.
*The unvaxed are getting inoculated one way or the other. So either get the poke or chance the virus. Your call.
*South and Southwest are probably either peaking or past peak. HOPEFULLY Midwest and Plains don't see that huge increase we saw this time last year.

-Pizza Hut nostalgia won't be addressed even if you eat it. Complete trash. Larossa's is also complete trash. Get the Calzone!! Get Pumped. If you want ****** chain pizza go with Domino's, LC or Donato's.

-Last Long John Silver in lex is closing. Talk about a gut busting day ruiner. Picked it up hungover about a decade ago for lunch. Made everything 100x's worse. Eff that.

-Guy at work recently diagnosed with cancer got really good results back yesterday after 6 rounds of chemo. I'll take that. Great dude.

Really random football things as we wait.

Personal favorite SEC unis:

LSU purples
Auburn home
Florida home (traditional orange lid, blue jersey, white pants)
UK home (white lid, blue jersey, white pants)

Favorite random UK player: Aaron Boone

Favorite team: 1998

Favorite season: 2018

Favorite game time: October 3:00

First game attended at CWS (that I remember): 1989 Auburn (L 24-12)

Miss almost as much as the power K: Walking up the ramp and seeing how they painted the field that week

Honorable mention: Unique stadium cups for each season

Huge change over time: CWS bathrooms used to be littered with bourbon bottles, particularly the night games. Never see it like that anymore.

Great college memories: Campus parties after a night game.

First Favorite game: 1993 UK 21 - #25 Ole Miss 0

Addendum: It's kind of interesting the offensive philosophy change we're undergoing. It's a bit reminiscent of the overhaul from Curry's option to Mumme's, although not as revolutionary. Still, we're going from RUN, run, and then RUN to a more dynamic, balanced offense. It has the potential to really change the "feel" of Kentucky Football just like what happened back then. Very exciting IMO. Hope it works.

I’ll never tire of being a run-first power running offense and hard-hitting defense that can outphysical any team in the country, outside the three or four truly elite programs. Mixing in a credible passing game will be some extra icing on the Big Blue Boner cake. Have a slice, Josh Heupel.

3rd shot being approved today (dancing banana emoji)

Anth, it’s getting worse in the south. Hospitals are begging for assistance and beds from other states. This isn’t going away and we’re just gonna have to deal with it.

Buying Amazon pallets lately and it’s like being a kid at Xmas. Have no clue what you’re going to find but always get several nice things. I’ve got everything from a Cousin’s 2016 Nike/NBA Olympic jersey, brand new fly rods, air fryers and really nice household stuff for $30-60 for the whole pallet. The rest I just give away because how many pillows, shiatsu massagers, blankets, lotion, soap and hair products does a person need.

Larosa’s pizza is incredible, and ten times better than the best that can be produced by that third-tier minor league town 90 miles downriver that receives our sewer effluent.
Yes Yes! Yet still too sweet and horrific. Get the salads. Super fresh and the house dressing tasty.

As mentioned previously, if you crave the Pizza Hut of your youth ----> hit up Hometown Pizza. Quality, and 100% dead on.

-Also, not sure if you East Enders are aware, but that new 'Trifecta' Pizza, Burritos, and Salads spot on Brownsboro Rd is the same dude/pizza from the shuttered North End Slice, previously the best pie in town, imo.

Enjoy.

Noteworthy, if true.

Good. Please say Hi.

My dad did the same when Giants left. Mom was Yanks fan who was dragged (by my grandfather) as a little girl to see Babe Ruth laying in state at the Stadium.

-inflation...gas prices and supply fubar...violent crime rate...political, racial and social divisiveness, border disaster...CDC and covid guidance...and now the resurgence of the Taliban. The Biden variant has rolled thru with the quickness in 7 months. Keep rocking libs.

-the problem with these companies and venues mandating vaccines to see their events is that you are potentially alienating and/or discriminating a good percentage of your potential audience, depending on the artist.

-Levis are still the best jeans.

-I would never own one but damn if Tesla's aren't fun to drive.

-Summer rocks.

Love, me.

Jets 8 corner with turbo crust is a solid option.

Hunting season is just around the corner. I'm going to make a traditional Burgoo (venison, squirrel, dove) the first cold, rainy weekend we get.

Baseball has the best sports movies by a longshot.

Looks like a great weekend on tap weather wise. Deserved after these last couple of days.

I'd rather the delta variant run its course now than this winter. Hopefully we get to herd immunity soon.

Acquired a backpack sprayer yesterday. Going to wage chemical warfare on some invasive honeysuckle at the farm. F those overgrown weeds.

I'm sofa king ready for football season.

Big Dog just called Pops on FaceTime for about ten minutes. Brought over Dare Rosenthal and he talked too. He gave dad a real smile and offered to come visit him in person when he’s down here recruiting next. Literally, was as good as you would expect.

As I am walking out of his house I can hear dad telling his caregiver about Big Dog and the lineman we stole from LSU. For that I’m always going to be thankful to Big Dog/UK.

Ran up to grab a couple bottles of bourbon last night for neighbor's Bday. (BTW, Liquor Barn Chevy Chase has Elijah Craig BP)

Walking out with the 21 year old college student who had a keg in tow.

"Where's the party?"
"My house... THIRSTY THURSDAY 😃"

I'm sure he could read the envy in my expression. Not a care in the world. Partying on a Thursday the week before school gets back . Man.

I do LJS about once a year, but don't start regretting it until my meal is finished. The next few hours are full of regret though.

KFC is the same, but on a 3 year rotation.

Add a Burger King Whopper to this and thats my trifecta. Once a year a Whopper just sounds amazing. Half way through as the indigestion starts kicking in, I throw my half eaten burger away and vow to never return......

That is until a year later when the craving kicks in again.

The last Friday before school randoms:

- Is Wipeout the show for all of the guys that couldn't pass the initial screening process for American Ninja Warrior?

- What's the go-to hotdog brand? Nathans? Ball Park?

- It's funny. The mid-80's pop/synth style music during the summer makes me nostalgic. That was the stuff the lifeguards (spoiled teenage brats) always played on the "jambox" at the little country club pool I swam at. For some reason, this summer really brought me back around to The Cars, Talking Heads, Pet Shop Boys, Duran Duran, and others. Simpler times and such.

- Had a health check up upon turning 45. Seems like all the parts are running just fine and are still under warranty. 6'5 (in shoes) and a svelte 205. Running about 25 miles a week at 8:30 a mile pace depending on how far I go. Working in 150 pushups and a non-weighted core workout 4 days a week. Try to do some form of heavy (for me) lifting at least once a week. Gonna be fun to watch it all go to hell by the end of October after the season gets in full swing. Hopefully I can maintain something off that regimen.

- My dieting sucks, though. Intermittent fasting has helped with some of that.

- Hasn't rained or stormed at my house in over 3 weeks. My little area is in a bubble. I've watched popup storms totally reverse course just to miss us. Crazy.

- My son is funny without meaning to be. Very random. I have to keep my head on a swivel in public nowadays because I'll never know what observation on human behavior he is about to make.

Last week, he saw what appeared to be an upper-middle class lady with nice clothes and accessories walking to her car. She was just walking and minding her own business; attractive, but not so much that she would have stopped you in your tracks.

My son - unprovoked - taps me just above my elbow while simultaneously not taking his eyes off this woman; his main "tell" of urgency and concern. He then proceeds to state that he bets that a woman who looks like that, "would have a son named, Collin."

I mean . . . the hell? The randomness of that cracked me up of course, but still. He's 11. He's not cute anymore, and he's gonna get my *** whipped.
