God bless Eric Gregg for giving the Braves a taste of their own medicine in the 1997 NLCS.

If every pitcher got the strike zone Maddux and Glavine got the cumulative league ERA in the 90s would have went down at least 1 run.

Greg Maddux is the best pitcher of all time. Partly because I don't know any of the dudes ahead of him in wins, but mostly because that mfer was a wizard on the mound, plus he fielded his position like no other. I would argue he's the single greatest white athlete of all time.

Greg Maddux was phenomenal. Hated the Braves, but was in awe of him. No other pitcher had the movement he had on the last few feet of his pitches.

But I loved this story...

My post was not a knock on Maddux or Glavine. Those dudes didn’t throw 97. Instead they relied on location and changing speeds - and they seldom made mistakes. And Maddux, in particular, was the best there ever was at this. But it doesn't surprise me at all that Tony Gwynn hit well against them.

And compare Maddox to Randy Johnson. On their best day, you'd rather have Randy Johnson than Greg Maddox 10 out of 10 times.

When I was in my mid-20's I got transferred to Chicago and I lived at the Westin on Michigan Avenue for the summer. It was the year Maddux went to the Cubs. One Sunday morning I was walking through this park near the hotel and this guy was out there with his two young children. The guy's daughter all of a sudden went into a windup and through a dart to his son. I was kind of astounded and looked at the dad who winked at me. Sure enough it was Maddux.

Can’t tell if Matt Jones is legit surprised people have online personas that differ from real life or if that was a really effective way for him to get Wayne to STFU about him.

Feel like the biggest ramification from Corona long term will be the switch to at home work. Feel a lot of companies will implement this in some way permanently. Perhaps the savings in infrastructure from this will allow some companies to bring back more jobs to America and not outsource to China and India? (Probably not)

Went to Lake Michigan for the first time ever for the weekend. Was beautiful, really impressed. Was exhausting at times with a 3 and 1 year old, but definitely would recommend if anyone is thinking about it.

When is the point where everyone will be satisfied with the situation in order to make some decisions about sports? How long have we been hearing “let’s just see how the next week goes”? 3 months?

Before everyone jumps in to discount Wayne's story, let me share one of my own....

One time I was walking around downtown Cincinnati, and saw this little girl just absolutely slugging away at a police horse. After every punch she'd look over at this man and ask "How was that one, daddy?" I glanced at the fella and he smiled and gave me a quick "wink and a gun".

Who was that man? You guessed it. It was former UC Bearcat center Art Long.

Randy Johnson's perfect game against the Braves went 2:15, but that's because Mike Hampton gave up so many damn hits and walks.

Hampton gave up 2 runs, scattered 8 hits and only had 3 walks in his 107 pitch CG. Every MLB pitcher in the game would take that every single start.

Diaz: We didn’t know exactly what we were getting into. We knew we were going out to Staten Island, which was kind of like uncharted territory other than going there for something for Wu-Tang. So we drove, and honestly he lives very far, it’s like the boondocks. I was like, “Where are we going? Where does this man live?” And then we were like, “This is it? We must have the wrong place.” Then it was like, “Holy ****, this is where he lives.”
...

Diaz: It was clearly cold, too, because I remember how hard it was to rub the wires together to get the doorbell to ring.
...

Clarke: They did not clean this place; they did not care.

Redman: It was still in the process of being rehabbed.

Brazil’s President tests positive for COVID-19.

“So what?”

“In my particular case, with my history as an athlete, if I were infected by the virus, I wouldn’t need to worry. I wouldn’t feel anything or, if very affected, it would be like a little flu or little cold.”

Does Bolsonaro post here?

Mr. Cream: I actually was sleeping, and I remember waking up and it was just cameras and **** in my face and they were like, “Sign this for me.” It was some kind of release, and I was like, “Oh, there’s some **** going on?” I was out, but I woke up to sign the release paper.

Redman: That’s my first cousin. He was still in Jersey, and traveling back and forth can be a pain in the ***, so he was just crashing at my crib. He had a chance to sleep on the damn sofa, but he just chose the ******* floor.

Mr. Cream: The reason I was on the floor was because the couch -- you know how it is when you’re sleeping on a leather couch and it gets all hot? When it’s too hot to sleep on the couch, I just go right to the floor. It’s a cooler situation.

Amen, Sugar Bear.
