We were warned early on that this virus was different. Apparently it has the ability to differentiate between crowds/mobs with a righteous cause and those who dare defy authority and congregate on golf courses, eat in restaurants, go to the beach, and such. This is the first woke virus...

Considering a lot of the stuff I saw about organized protests included protocols about wearing masks, social distancing and had people actively handing out those things at the protests like hand sanitizer and masks I’d say they were taking it more seriously than the Karen’s screaming about not being able to go to O’Charley’s.

Well we’ve already had two bars shut back down because of employees testing positive, thanks Miami trash! Make that freaking roadblock permanent.

Roadblock ? Why not just build a wall ? Maybe even try to make Miami pay for it. That will show them who runs Florida. Help me here, what exactly makes Miami residents worse than say,,,, Delray Beach residents ?

-made a *really* nice thai chicken curry last night. No recipe...just using what we had in the fridge and pantry. I have talent.

-adding golden raisins to a spicy/savory dish usually works out well. Balance.

-not a gadget guy, but im in love with my rice cooker...frees up the gas cooktop, one less thing to worry about.

-worked in some after dinner patio time... bugs are coming, gotta take advantage whilst you can. Our garden is lush which while beautiful gives a great habitat for mosquitoes.

^looking for a nice exterior grade fan or two to mitigate. Recs appreciated.

-we have a "ninebark" shrub adjacent to our patio. Beautiful. Native. Not super common. Highly recommend.

-keeping segunda occupied this summer is gonna be a challenge. Most camps have been cancelled...and she's too young for a job. She's doing a bit of sitting/mommys helper stuff and we have a basketball trainer over a couple hrs a week, one tennis camp scheduled. 1st world problems.

-nothing new in the sock game, sadly.

Yep. I think America isn’t as systemically racist as the narrative being jammed down our throats.

Actually, it's fairly accurate, but just off target.

If you can spare the 15 seconds or so to learn about the genesis of the #blm movement, it's mostly about the systematic racism in policing people of color -- bruality and mass incarceration. Those are very real, fairly known issues that have pretty broad bi-partisan support.

Unfortunately, instead of focusing on a very real, major issue, the focus has shifted to shaming Jimmy Kimmel for dressing up as Karl Malone for Halloween 20 years ago, renaming the student rec center at Sara Lee College in Poughkeepsie, New York, and assassinating the character of anyone who inadvertently supports the wrong hashtag.

This is what happens when anyone on the planet with an internet connection can instantly share their opinion with 2 billion people.

* Well, this settles it....

https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/24/us/coronavirus-cases-protests-black-lives-matter-trnd/index.html

Black Lives Matter protests have not led to a spike in coronavirus cases, research says

So let's just go ahead and bury that silly argument, ok fellas?

"Our findings suggest that any direct decrease in social distancing among the subset of the population participating in the protests is more than offset by increasing social distancing behavior among others who may choose to shelter-at-home and circumvent public places while the protests are underway," the report reads.

It's still possible that protests may have caused an increase in the spread of the virus among those who attended protests, according to the report.

So, it was offset by the people that were afraid to leave their homes because of the riots, but the actual attendees could spread the disease...

I’d also add housing and education to that as well.

I think White Liberals in their quest to be the wokest among us are a huge part of the problem. Which is why I tend to not listen to them at all. I pay attention to what black voices are saying on matters like these.

I understand the premise of BLM and it’s impetus.

I also understand that America is the best country for opportunity for every race to live together. It can’t be that bad if most impoverished immigrants want to move here from other countries.

However- I don’t, and will not ever, cave to the Marxist hijacking of equal rights for black people.

Please tell me what you think “Marxism” is.

American exceptionalism is something that the rest of the world kind of doesn’t like and isn’t something I ascribe to. To each their own.

From a 1996 article.

The six platform demands are:

1. End the war on black people.
2. Reparations for past and continuing harms.
3. Divestment from the institutions that criminalize, cage and harm black people; and investment in the education, health and safety of black people.
4. Economic justice for all and a reconstruction of the economy to ensure our communities have collective ownership, not merely access.
5. Community control of the laws, institutions and policies that most impact us.
6. Independent black political power and black self-determination in all areas of society.

Some reasonable but how to implement?
Some ambiguous.
Some will never happen.

Again with this ****?

I'm guilty from time to time of bringing my 100% correct politics in to GYER, but I've tried to be better.

If you want to fight about racism, COVID, gays, midgets, abortion, God, or whatever, there's a thread for that.

GYERO should be mostly about the following:
Titties
Alcohol
Sports takes
Stories like Willy only giving back rubs to get laid
Snackdowns
Titties
Friday 5
Movies/TV
Boneless chicken: Nugget or wing (Nugget Obviously)
W2 smack
Fashion sense
Kids hijinks
Little league sports
Vacations
Titties
Weekend wrapups

Probably missing a few, but you get the jist

Ice Cream Sandwiches are the most disappointing cool treats of all time. How ‘bout that?

The ice cream usually has a freezer-burnt taste. The “bread” of the sandwich sticks to the tip of your fingers. Sometimes the ice-cream flies out the back end when you bite down on it like a dim-witted cartoon character biting into a hotdog.

Everything about them is just dreadful.

My wife bought some Kroger brand ice cream sandwiches a couple weeks ago. Believe it or not, they solved that problem. Cookies were crisp; ice cream had none of that freezer burn taste. I asked her what brand they were as they weren’t as you described. Very surprised to hear they were private label.

Water in seagrove Beach was as pretty as I’ve ever seen it last week. Could walk out 80 yards in emerald-clear water and only be knee deep. Took my oldest fishing in the gulf a few times. Didn’t catch anything but man, that’s as good as life gets for a simple man from Jessamine county, Kentucky.

still have the remnants of my deep brown tan, too. Makes me sad as it slowly fades every day. Stark reminder of normal life taking back over. Nothing like that Florida sun.

I know I’m a dork about this stuff but one of my favorite things about the gulf coast area is the horticulture. The sheer amount of crape myrtles in Florida and Alabama blows my mind. I swear, if I ever get my pool I’m going to bring back a couple palmettos and plant those suckers just to see what happens. With all the advancements we’re making with global warming I think those bad boys could live a few years.

I regularly curse like a sailor but I still refrain from saying “oh my god” and I cringe when I hear somebody else say it. And I frequently drop a GD. Makes no sense, but it’s just something that has stuck with me since I was a kid. Oh my gosh/goodness ftw.

I have canceled my dish network again. Tried it back in 2015 and Adrian rightly roasted me for the decision. But I feel like internet/streaming tv has advanced to the point where I won’t notice as much. Between sling/Netflix/hbo/amazon I THINK I should be covered for the 3 things I actually watch and still be under the $125/mo I pay for dish and the 250 channels of pure garbage they provide.

Big fan of the Twix and Milky Way Ice Cream Bars. Try to limit myself to one a week. Haven’t bought a traditional ice cream sandwich in years. Or at least since my son moved out.

-Aren't Crape Myrtles pretty easy to grow in Kentucky? I have two by my garage that I have cut down to the stump and they still won't die. Very overrated plant.

-The events of 2020 have killed GYERO. If there is no football, this thread is dead. Way too much volume from what should be bit posters.

I wouldn't trust an ice cream sandwich with "crisp" cookies. I don't know what that is.

One of the best times of my life was when I got to experience the club level at Reds stadium. They had AYCE EVERYTHING and I mean the entire works, but the prize of the entire floor was tucked off way in a corner by itself - A WHOLE FREEZER CHEST OF ICE CREAM SANDWICHES. Good Lord in Heaven that little freezer was the single best thing I've ever experienced with my Cincinnati Reds. I pounded those like light beers and watched the Rondo led Celtics on a huge *** TV most of the night.

Kyle Tucker may be on the verge of trying to cancel UK Football. He doesn’t seem to be a fan of the Virus protocols in place. He only got 2 single pages when he did a public records request on their plan. He probably has a solid point, but I’m sure he’s about to go HAMWOKE on UK Athletics.

If that dumbass wants the pain, Billy Joe will bring it.

Based on that article KSR posted, UK sure has a better system than any team running nose swab tests.
