Deener was talking this morning about the scheduling nightmare at the Yum! b/c of both women's and men's basketball being played there.

Hey effstick, Staples Center has 2 NBA teams and a NHL team in the same arena. In addition to the Pac 10 Tournament, concerts, conventions, etc. Pretty sure if Los Angeles can make it work, we can figure out a time for the freaking women's basketball team to play.

To my untrained eyes, what we do seems pretty scoutable and basic. We can usually overcome it because of talent, one-on-one ability, etc., but - as far as I can tell - we've run the same **** for 9 years. At some point, I think that gets used against you, especially when the pro game has gotten so perimeter-shooting based.

This is the part where Cal rolls his eyes and calls everyone a dumbass basketball benny. I love that part.

Louisville is going to lose its **** if they try to name the team the Kentucky Colonels, aren't they?

That town has gotten a lot more provincial since the ABA days...

I, as a proud NKYian and greater Akron, OH advocate would be #ALLIN a Louisville NBA team.

Be perfectly fine trading my Bengals/Reds swag in for minor (for now) league soccer and 90 minute away NBA swag.

As long as the NBA team has priority the scheduling dilemma is a non issue.

For the first time I fired a client today. Felt good, but felt bad at the same time, and really should relieve a lot of stress.

Been in the hospital for 3 days as my son had to have surgery which wasn’t planned at all. Unreal how your life changes in an instant with kids. No plans, no warnings, just new direction and nothing else matters!

These cats will be ok. Not only do the pieces of the puzzle not fit these kids do not have a clue how to win. At least 3 games this year we had it won and pissed it away with complete careless freshmen mistakes.

The word "Colonel" in today's environment probably evokes too many Old South-related connotations.

Edit - Max beat me to it.

The Louisville Basketball Investment and Support Group isn't naming a team the Kentucky anything. They'll be the Louisville somethings, and they'll probably keep the same color scheme as the Cards so they don't have to revamp the entire arena everytime a game is played. Ugh.

Grew up going to see the Colonels at KFEC. It was pretty badass having so many former UK players.

However, my favorite basketball player growing up was Dr. J, so my dad used to take me and a buddy whenever the NY Nets came to town. Fun times.

They should get a black colonel for the mascot. Like Terry crews or that Samuel l jackson character in the hateful 8. That'd be dope and nonracist
I like Steven from Django, myself.

Let them play at the YUM!

THE BIG ARENA, BOSS?

idk, KFC has successfully doubled down on the Colonel recently and if a miracle does happen and its still the YUM Center I would imagine the name would be in play.

I agree with pretty much everything everyone has said in regards to this year's troubles:
-lack of shooters
-pieces that don't fit
-bigs who aren't ready
-lack of veterans
-pedestrian offensive sets
-lack of desire and will

Etc, etc. It's all valid. But I still think nearly all of our losses come down to us doing stupid **** at the most inopportune times. It's ridiculous. And it always changes the momentum. Last night was filled with them during the stretch where we were up 4 but couldn't extend the lead, namely Quade going baseline out of bounds and Diallo's terrible pass that led to a fastbreak. We have the dumbest, most costly turnovers I've ever seen a team make. And they cost us games more than anything else.

I'm still keeping hope. We've been in every game besides the A&M game. But if we keep having numerous inexplicable turnovers game after game then we will be in the NIT and we will be exiting early.

This team has no margin for error. They aren't skilled enough or mentally tough to overcome mistakes. When Hami missed the 3, they score, PJ scores but then 2 straight turnovers, Auburn gets a layup and a 3 to take the lead and we wilted emotionally. Bound to happen with 17/18 year old kids whose confidence is shaky, at best.
