Yes, a standard pre-tax IRA is taxed at withdrawal, like your 401k.

A Roth is after-tax money that grows tax free so feel free to get a little adventurous with it.

Of course, GYERO makes too much for a Roth and has to shelter cash in a ND IRA.

Not only is it a ***** move, he's just gonna be pressured to allow the transfer, cave and do it, and the result will be the same as if he hadn't blocked him, except with the negative publicity.
