Jurich kept Pitino after 2 major sex scandals and rehired Petrino. Thinking he's going to resign for anything is hilarious. Not only is he never resigning this only digs him into UL deeper.

I don't listen to the show so maybe I just don't understand. A radio host said the UofL AD might be bought out and then apologized the next day? Why in the world would any actual media member apologize for that unless it was just made up?
I have a hard time believing that Jurich has any sort of pull over Matt Jones or his bosses or he probably would've used it long before now. I'm guessing it's more likely Matt's bosses were behind it for some sort of legal or journalistic ethical reasons. He basically said he'd heard from multiple sources that UL was trying to buy Jurich out in the next month or two. That's an awfully big fish to try and fry regarding both what you're saying and who you're saying it about without having something concrete you can share.
I, for one, doff my cap to Jonesy for serving Tom & co. yet another helping of **** sandwich to go along with everything else currently on their plate.
But then, apologizing on your own is basically acknowledging what you said really isn't true. If my recollection of Media Law serves me, Jurich (as "public figure") would have to go to trial and prove actual malice, not just negligence, to win a defamation case.
Kinda like the Anthony Davis thing, I always thought it was smart that the writer doubled-down and insisted that a source told him what he printed. Unless you were stupid enough to leave a trail saying that you were willingly printing/saying something you knew to be untrue for the purpose of harming someone, you're probably be pretty safe.
(But I'm no lawball, and Matt is, so I'm sure he knows what he's doing better than I do.)
