The egos in sports, media, etc. PALE in comparison to the egos and pettiness of higher ed. administration. Not even close, really. Just some really disconnected folks, imo.

ACC, Big Ten, SEC coaches honestly evaluate conference foes

http://www.campusrush.com/acc-big-ten-sec-basketball-duke-unc-indiana-kentucky-1609997330.html

Kentucky (19–6, 9–3):
"This may be [John] Calipari's best coaching job. I don't know if they have a pro on their front line. With [sophomore guard Tyler] Ulis, you can't slow him down or speed him up. He plays exactly how he wants to play. They don't have low block scoring in the halfcourt. Their big guys can score on rebounds and everything else, but they're not throwing to the block. [Freshman center] Skal [Labissiere] is just weak. He's talented, but he's not strong enough to get a lot done on the low block. [Freshman guard Isaiah] Briscoe knows he doesn't shoot it, so he drives you, he posts you. With [freshman guard Jamal] Murray, you can't let him catch and shoot or he'll kill you. You have to try to pound them inside because they don't have much depth along their front line."

So do we throw Poythress back in the starting 5 or let him be the 6th man? I imagine he'll be coming off the bench for a few games at least, but I'm curious to see how he works into the rotation come tourney time.

I need 2014 NCAA Poythress.

Ease him slowly back in and see what he can do until tourney time, all the while giving the other guys who have been deserving minutes their share. Hopefully, he can spark us like he did in a couple tourney games in 2014. Cal will figure out the perfect balance without interrupting the momentum of the team.

Said it before, but someone needs to start a regular column with nothing but 'undercover/anonymous' type articles with thoughts from coaches, players, etc. I eat that **** up...who knows if half of it is made up, guess I don't really care.

Golf Digest has an "Undercover Tour Pro" article each issue written by an anonymous golfer, which is awesome.

People are so much more candid in those type of settings, usually results in good stuff.

Certainly helps that we have three guys who have played in the title game(Poy, Lee, Hawkins) and another in the Final Four(Ullis).

Should have a nice blend of talent/experience to make a deep run.

I go back and forth on whether or not I want to use my real name on twitter instead of @SAECATFAN. It really doesn't matter whatsoever, but it's a nice safeguard in case I upset the wrong person.

I mean I've got my real identity on a different account, but that's mostly just to read people that have blocked me with the other.

Cincy folk: Is Riverbend as big of a nightmare logistically as I remember? Or was I just drunk & annoyed at a 3 hr pop country concert in a consistent DOWNPOUR. (we actually had fun with it)

Is there a secret/convenient pickup spot for Uber/Lyft that's not in that main entrance?

Of course, I was there for Luke Bryan/Jason Aldean (lol), and I'm sure that's about as bonkers as it could ever get for a regular concert, or close...still, it was a nightmare getting out of there post-show, and we even tried to book it before the encore.

Would love to see this Hall & Oates concert, but that place left a bad taste in my mouth...plus, it's on a Wednesday #rolleyes Then again, I would imagine the crowd would be relatively light compared to the big ones they have b/c of the day & act.

Edit: Jerry just called me -- I had no clue there was a new Belterra Casino/Hotel there now a 2 minute walk away. Nobody has ever even mentioned it...pretty much changes my whole attitude about that place going forward.:fire:

Edit2: The hotel not finished, or is there not one? Dude got me excited for nothing with BS Info.

-Normally I'd hammer the under (150), but the way we've been going bonkers & this being a revenge/GFY type game, who knows. Still think I like it a lot though.

Btw, the 2nd half under with Cal if it's a high # is usually a great bet when we're winning the way we stall ball the final 8-10. :100points:

Our intramural team beat the piss out of UK's defensive secondary and a couple of WRs in 97. I got an And-1 dunk on some 5'10 DB off a steal. He tried to go up and block me, but I had the best angle to the basket. The entire team gave the little guy grief and I got hi-fived/props from their entire team. I was a little embarrassed by it, actually.

It just goes to show you what kind of athlete was playing in our secondary back in '97. Mumme gave no Fs about defense. None.

I swear I thought it had to be Littleton Ward because he was so awful. Then thought he was a Cury player and graduated mid 90's. So I went to look at the 1997 roster because, to be honest, I wanted to know who you dunked on.

Well, there was 5'9 Littleton Ward. If it was him you have no idea how much I appreciate you embarrassing him in front of his crew. Lord knows he embarrassed us for four years.

Stone cold lock it was him.

His FB post he shared on Twitter...

It's awful. Our hospital puts a black flower on the door.

Putting an epidural in those patients...man. He explained it well. There's literally nothing I can say to them. The worst.

I've given cancer diagnoses, told adults their elderly parents have died, etc, but nothing like that. Swimmer's wife is an OB, so I'm sure he has more insight, but I can't even imagine.

You just feel so awful and have so many emotions but you know that not a single thing you say will make any difference.

There's no hotel at Belterra Park, but you could hang there while traffic clears.

OR

I scored a VIP pass with concert tix on StubHub last summer that allowed us to pull into a VIP driveway, park mere feet from the VIP entrance and bypass the 1/4 mile line of common folk waiting to enter the entrance down the way. Entered straight into the VIP lounge area, grabbed a drink and relaxed. If you can find one, it's definitely the way to go.

There is a Hampton Inn in Wilder that is an eight minute drive from that casina. (Newport Travelodge has permanently closed.)

I hear you, Catholic_back. My wife is a respiratory therapist in the NICU at a level four hospital that serves half our province and thus has repeatedly seen everything possibly go wrong that can go wrong during pregnancy and child birth. She in turn was an absolute nightmare for pregnancy #1 and only slightly better for #2. For #1 she assumed she miscarried anytime she didn't feel the baby kick for a few hours. It' was frustrating because I'm always so optimistic.
