Actually a bit surprised that KSR does well with college kids these days. I mean, you've got some relatively "old" hosts all things considered.

Same token, I can't imagine ever having the desire to hear someone's opinion on UK when they weren't even alive to see Jamal Mashburn play ball for the Wildcats.

TIME IS FUNNY.

- I listen everyday. Makes my daily commute from Eastwood to school/work less miserable. After it's over you better believe I'm cranking up Gucci Mane La Flare on Spotify, though.

-Not old enough to have seen Mash play, but I've watched him play on old VHS recordings with my dad countless times. We had piles of those tapes at our house. Pops would pop in the tape of some random regular season game from like '94 and we'd both sit and watch the whole thing. Watching him relive those moments was kinda cool now that I think about it. Amazing how much he could remember about what happened/what he was doing during those games.

Have a feeling our seeding will be punished by the ****** conference in which we play. If teams B & C have similar records and wtf losses are from ACC or Big !12 teams, they are going to get the favorable seeds over us. That is how the committee will sort out all the teams with the same credentials, what conference are they from or what conference where teams from who they lost to.

-I wouldn't say KSR is very big for college kids. I mean, I listen to it every day, but I'm one of the few people I know who does. I probably have 3-4 friends I know who listen to it, but that's about it.

-Some friends and I drunkenly signed up for intramural innertube water polo last weekend. Forgot about that one. First game tomorrow at 7 [roll]

-Drinking heavily beforehand is truly the only option.

I've probably listened to an entire KSR show < 5 times ever. Unless he is interviewing someone good I don't get the appeal. BJW level sports talk with Ryan doing his awful Stugotz impression. I mean, it's UK talk so there's that, but it's just the same stuff I've already read (and had discussed better) here.

Jones's periscopes are on point, though

TBH the first time I've ever listened to that show was the Katina interview. Not living in Kentucky may have something to do with that but not much really.

-Fraternity intramural B team also sucks. Got beat 81-45 ([smoke]) tonight by J.D. Harmon and his boys. Dude had 7-8 dunks (many coming via snowbird, of course.) Really is eye-opening seeing how much more athletic a mediocre SEC defensive back is compared to regular dudes out there. Just silly.

Our intramural team beat the piss out of UK's defensive secondary and a couple of WRs in 97. I got an And-1 dunk on some 5'10 DB off a steal. He tried to go up and block me, but I had the best angle to the basket. The entire team gave the little guy grief and I got hi-fived/props from their entire team. I was a little embarrassed by it, actually.

It just goes to show you what kind of athlete was playing in our secondary back in '97. Mumme gave no Fs about defense. None.

-Podcasts are good but a commitment. With the show I can bounce in and out as background noise at my desk.

-Trust him, guys. BBdk is going to have tons of fun hoping he can find a tube TV in a bar at the beach to watch a game. He won't even think about it. This was the right decision. I for one am totally convinced.

-Hey young guys, f*ck you. I want to be the young fun guy again. *******. :weary:

"Hey Anth, what did you do this weekend?"
"No idea but my bar receipts total about $800, I have some random phone number blowing me up, and a huge bruise on my side... and day drank in the pool all Sunday."

"Hey Anth, what did you do this weekend?"
"Wasn't feeling well, stayed home, worked on Sat, had 4 drinks that night, hit a bar for the first time in ages and was home by 10p... and felt like death on Sunday."

Sounds like Anth is having regrets about "getting serious about life."
More like Anth is missing being a 23 year old punk.

I love life right now, other than being sick. Unlike you, I realize I'm not that age any more and I'm not trying to pretend like I am.

I'm not pretending to be 23 either. I'm 40 and fabulous.

You're still a punk tho...

Anyone checked out the Masterpiece Podcast for Downton? Sounds interesting enough...

Also, Mary is hot as balls this season. Like, multiple levels up from previous seasons. Knew all along MaxxP was not a heterosexual (which is fine).

You can be happy with where you are in life, but still look back fondly on being 24, chasing babes and throwing down a dozen shots every night with your buddies.

Lass's roommate is a cute little 25 year old who goes out about every night. I like hearing her stories, but I Marcus be talking to a teenager. She sounds that immature to me.

Likewise, went out with my youngest buddies (24/25) one night two years ago and I couldn't believe how big of idiots they are. I would've thought the same about myself. BBdK and I used to routinely go out together, spend $150 a piece at the bar, brown out, lose each other half way through the night so we were literally roaming around solo hitting on chicks and then take separate $30 cab rides from the same place back to the same place. This was routine. What a couple of bags.

I listen to KSR on the regular here at work. (2-3x per wk)

Especially when juicy scuttlebutt is afoot.

-630 is on here everyday from 9:00am-'til quittin' time. Not just for the scuttlebutts from KSR, but for it's hidden gems like John Short being on hold so long yesterday he dozed off and you could hear him snoring. Shew-wee..shoulda been there, William.

-Also, the giddiness from Leach and Pratt this morning tells me all i need to know.

Never said anything about Mary's appearance- just that her overall character is a terrible person. Plus she's not as hot as her cousin.

DEM ANKLES

Actually felt kinda bad for Mary, seeing as no one seemed to consider she might not like car racing since her husband died like a moon eyed idiot in a car crash. Felt bad until she dumped a guy the day his best friend got all flambe.

My hate has been primarily directed at effing Daisy this season. Pay attention.

TIME IS FUNNY.

The age thing is something thats on my mind a lot. The radio show isn't really designed for college kids although we do have a pretty strong core with some college guys. When we get the ratings, the 18-34 demo is always fascinating to me...for guys, it is rap, country and us....for women its just country. Thats it...sometimes we win the demo, sometimes we don't but literally no other talk show gets any ratings in that demo. When I think about it, I didnt listen to talk radio then either, except occasionally Howard Stern.

Most college kids now know me from Twitter more than anything else. When I judged Greek Sing, that was by far the thing people mentioned the most. The website still has some appeal there and they do dominate my Snapchat/Periscopes more than other age groups. But Twitter is by far the way they know KSR the best. Drew is still really popular with that age group, but it is important for us to find some new young talent. I have talked with the Barstool guys about that as well. I started the site at 27 and now it is a lot harder to relate than it was then. But the key thing is you can't try to be the "cool, old guy"...people see through that and you end up looking like Gary Parrish. Drew is 30 but still lives a life that works....my goal this summer is to find the next generation. It is hard to find though because people don't write anymore (thanks to social media).

I agree with you guys about the radio show...its better in studio than live. I like meeting the fans, but those shows are so much harder to keep entertaining than in studio. On days like today, where I was under the weather and there wasn't a lot to talk about, its even worse. But we have to do the remotes because they make a ton of money. I honestly think our best shows are where we do it from some place but we don't bring a crowd...that may be the future because it gives you the advantage of being on the road without the stress of winning over a crowd in person.

By the way, Ramsey is totally lying about this UL meeting thing...no clue why either. He is going to resign soon so why go through this whole ta-doo...as long as he didn't have a quorum, he didn't violate any law. Bizarre that he would pick this fight. But the thing is a complete dumpster fire over there right now. I probably here 25% of the gossip and some of it still blows my mind. I wish I could dump it all because people wouldn't believe it. When its all done and they start ratting on each other...it will be glorious.

To me, chemistry is the biggest thing. It's not always just the personality of the individual, but how well it meshes with the others. So many different morning drive shows lose a person, and try to bring in someone young/funny, etc., but it is a flop. And to each his own, but one of the appeals to me is a good dose of snark. I love when you cut off idiots, whether they are UK fans or not. Also, one thing that gives your show a lot of credibility are your interviews, like with Stoops. Tough, fair questions. Rather than that crap Capt Suntan pulls with Pitino, calling him "sir" or "coach" every two seconds.

Wifey used to work in the President's Office there a lifetime ago. It was pre-Ramsey, but she knows/knew a lot of those people. Nothing you ever have said surprises her in any way, and she is one of the biggest UofL honks on the planet (although she doesn't care for Pitino/Petrino).

How long before Slice and Shootbag get a change at KSR? It wouldn't be the first time a GYERO poster or parody account has gotten a shot.
