Well playedDon’t think Schiano would accept an extension without a serious commitment to get the field house done.
Seeing the responses in this thread to your message, including mine, I would say the same to youWell played![]()
My kid graduated from RU and has a great job and is doing great! All my grandkids got excellent jobs after getting their degrees from our business school.I don't understand your animosity towards RU business school. The internships they were afforded being students at RU business led directly to great starting jobs and future careers.
Then why did you make a comment that too many RU grads are doing nonsense jobs after? You made it seem like Miami had a better ROI than Rutgers. I agree Miami is a step above Syracuse and about the same as Villanova and I will add Tulane, but the end of the day it's not a great academic institutionMiami doesn’t have to be Duke. It’s for Rich kids who couldn’t get into the Ivy Leagues or Duke. It’s probably one step below USC and Georgetown. One notch above Syracuse. The student parking lot is filled with Hummers, Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, quite different from what you’d find at the Rutgers student lot. Needless to say, most Miami students don’t worry about their tuition expense because their parents are covering it, in most cases. Yes, Superior service is built into tuition. That is especially important when you consider career services.
Kids graduate from Miami happy, for the most part. I wish I could say the same for Rutgers Grads. Rutgers has much higher ROI, no doubt.
I was very happy with my experience and thrilled I was able to have a 37 year career and be in the top 1% of wage earners. Furthermore, I have a ton of friends who also went to RU in similar circumstances. No slight intended, but Service at Rutgers sucks. It’s an objective observation that most who attended, would agree with. Not looking down or belittling anyone. The “RU Screw” doesn’t exist because people were happy with their experience.
Miami’s experience is much better than most anywhere else. They are operationally excellent. The campus is clean. The living facilities are top notch. The professors and Deans are accessible. The classrooms in the business school are state of the art.
Alums get excellent outcomes, in many cases, because Miamis career services office is excellent, and much better than what state schools like Rutgers provides. Too many Rutgers alums are doing nonsense jobs, at least a year out of school before getting real jobs.
Rutgers is like NJ Transit. Crappy service but at least it gets the job done. No one who wants excellent service goes to Rutgers.
Because it’s true. The private schools do a much better job of placing grads into jobs because they have dedicated resources for this effort. Then why did you make a comment that too many RU grads are doing none sense jobs after? You made it seem like Miami had a better ROI than Rutgers. I agree Miami is a step above Syracuse and about the same as Villanova and I will add Tulane, but the end of the day it's not a great academic institution
Then how come the average starting salary is only 2k more than Rutgers? There is a reason that schools like Syracuse is having financial issuesBecause it’s true. The private schools do a much better job of placing grads into jobs because they have dedicated resources for this effort.
How should we measure ROI. If it’s customer service satisfaction, it’s Miami by a mile. If it’s educational experience, it’s Miami by a mile.
If it’s salary compared to education expenses, Rutgers wins out, because the expenses are significantly lower.
if a great academic institution is Harvard, Princeton, and Duke, Miami is not that.
People had great social experiences at Rutgers, but if you ask them “how was the service at Rutgers” they’d say terrible. At least that’s how many of my classmates felt.I was very happy with my experience and thrilled I was able to have a 37 year career and be in the top 1% of wage earners. Furthermore, I have a ton of friends who also went to RU in similar circumstances.
You are making a ridiculous argument that most people were unhappy at RU which is absolutely insane. You were probably unhappy because you couldn't get laid there(basing this on comments Cali made) but don't project your blue balls on the rest of us
Because Florida salaries are lower, though Miami places a good number of people into nyc jobs. Then how come the average starting salary is only 2k more than Rutgers? There is a reason that schools like Syracuse is having financial issues
I know many that have graduated from RU and all have great jobs and great careers from Healthare, IT, Wall Street, Retail,…..everyone of my friends kids that went to RU are doing great, including mine!Because it’s true. If you did we would have heard about it nonstop on here and tMB.
But in all honesty, I do hope it happens for you.

I think everyone who goes to college does great, more or less. The question is how was the service you RECEIVED at college?I know many that have graduated from RU and all have great jobs and great careers from Healthare, IT, Wall Street, Retail,…..everyone of my friends kids that went to RU are doing great, including mine!
Never heard my son or any of his friends complain.I think everyone who goes to college does great, more or less. The question is how was the service you RECEIVED at college?
That was the sign-up at the gay club to run train on you lolWe’re discussing major Division 1 sports here. You can’t just sign up at the student center like you can for lacrosse.
Service? Did you have a concierge at Miami? Who cares about service? I only care about the education I received and the job I was able to get after graduation. Was the concierge worth 240k.I think everyone who goes to college does great, more or less. The question is how was the service you RECEIVED at college?

Education is a service. Here are a few examples at Rutgers:Service? Did you have a concierge at Miami? Who cares about service? I only care about the education I received and the job I was able to get after graduation. Was the concierge worth 240k.![]()

How about you also tell us about other “professional“ services you‘ve often received. Not educational services, public services, legal services or medical services. Services lonely and otherwise dysfunctional social miscreants seek. Services notoriously legal in Amsterdam and some other foreign locales. And in some parts of Nevada in fact.Education is a service. Here are a few examples at Rutgers:
- Registration
- Billing
- Teaching
- Dining
- Recreation
- Housing
- Transportation

Over my 50 year career at a large firm headquartered in NYC, I can not recall o ne Miami grad working for us.We hired MIT,Princeton, Nyu grads , you name them.As for RU grads,I can tell you 4 or five of us became senior partners.Because Florida salaries are lower, though Miami places a good number of people into nyc jobs.
If you worked at a large firm, I doubt you tracked every school for every grad that the firm hired. Goldman, JP Morgan, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, Citi are some of the NYC firms which take Miami grads.Over my 50 year career at a large firm headquartered in NYC, I can not recall o ne Miami grad working for us.We hired MIT,Princeton, Nyu grads , you name them.As for RU grads,I can tell you 4 or five of us became senior partners.
Maybe USC looked past Rutgers and came out flat for them, at least on defense giving up 460 yards, while their offense gained 461 yards. Still you have to credit their defense for the pick 6 that turned the game around. This year has seen Greg Schiano’s best coaching job yet. With a talent depleted roster, and new players all over the place, we summoned up the will to play competitively with the #12 team in the country, who looks headed towards the Top 5 if they can beat Oregon. We played competitively with a roster that was worth $20M more, with a group that included Div 2 and Div Iaa kids. The difference in the game was a pick6 thrown by a QB that is still developing, which is why we landed him from the bargain bin. His counterpart at USC is worth roughly $2.5M. Indianas Josh Hoover makes $4M. Had we paid up for a QB, we’d be 3-0, but we didn’t have budget, since we had so many needs.
The new kids improved exponentially from Game 2 to Game 3. That’s what you call coaching. We had #4 on an island, and he did get beat at times, but I thought he played particularly well especially when you consider the tremendous athletes he was going up against. Had we paid Bo Mascoe the $1M+ he was seeking, this games end result might have been different. Kaj Sanders significantly bolstered our defense, and is playing the best football of his career. His instincts and athleticism were dearly missed.
The kids on defense played their hearts out, even though they got lit up like Roman candles at times. Safeties and DBs made a bulk of the tackles, and LBs were much improved. Defensive Line did not get the pressure we were hoping for, but did their best. Overall, I thought the defense played well enough to win, considering their constraints.
Our offense lit up USCs defense at times. Antwan Raymond showed excellent vision to elude USCs defenders. Korey Duff dog walked the USC defender many times. Ben Black finally made the impact we were waiting for. The new kids, Jourdin Houston, Elias Coke, and Vernon Allen all made nice contributions. Overall, I thought our WR group was equivalent to USCs.
The QB played well most of the time, but made two critical mistakes which cost us the game. He will be much better next year. This year is a developmental year.
A revelation on the offensive line was playing Chris Vigna at Left Tackle and Moving Tyler Needham to Left Guard. Vina did very well from what I could see, as did Needham. Their double team sprung Antwan Raymond on his nice run. #11 Logan Blake had a really nice day blocking, and he was able to get to the 2nd level at times, to eliminate defenders. He had a really nice block on Raymond’s big run. I also thought #74 Giwa was particularly solid. The line had its best performance of the year. USCs Luke Wafle, #94, had very little impact on the game, aside from a few tackles.
This sites writers predicted scores ranging from roughly 45-14 to 55-10. Final Score was 42-35, much better than expectations. The team is getting better every game, as the kids are getting better every game. USC is likely the most talented team on the schedule while Indiana is the best coached. We match up much better with Indiana from a talent perspective, so I’m looking forward to that game, even if the result is likely adverse. Nevertheless, ever remaining game after Indiana is winnable. Can’t wait to see what the season holds.
We are building a new foundation, so this year is a developmental year. Get a General Manager, get more NIL, get more portal help, and we will be much better next year.
Years ago, he would go after anyone the disagreed with the guy that didn't pay his $10k bet to you. He gave off similar vibes then as well. The guy doesn’t like anyone speaking ill of Al. Doesn’t like lit. Trying to bang Al lol
I was thinking it was going to be a one win season until they played a competitive game against a very good USC team. Hopefully they do get to 3 or 4 wins, but to be honest, the odds of even that level of success are against them.I wasn't sure how bad yesterday would be. I easily would have believed a 30 point loss. I am not for moral victories. A loss is a loss. I will say it is a good sign that the players played very hard. I don't know if USC was completely interested in playing their best game. Flying across the country to play an opponent that is struggling with a coach on the hotseat is a tough one to get completely focused on. Regardless, it is nice to see some fight in the team. My concern is if the boys check out, there could be some really ugly games coming up. I think it is a 3-4 win season at this point but I just don't want a surrender to occur. I do believe a coaching change is needed and will happen but I don't want the boys to get embarrassed.
This is the best 0-3 team in Rutgers history. Chris Ash’s team would have gotten smoked 51-3, by USC.We are 0-3.
If we had litetally any other coach......it would be 0-3 at worst.
You can't say "only Schiano could have had even limited success at Rutgers" when we've literally had zero success.
Hard to argue:
"Yes we went 4-8. But it would have been even worse with any other obtainable coach. Money money money!!"
Chris Ash could have gotten us to 0-3 this year.
Prove me wrong.
