Probably just trying to build hype.

While I agree, I'm not sure what kind of hype he is going to build. It seems most UK fans have given up on this, and thus there wont be much hype to build.

On the other hand, what better way to keep your decision secretive than to make it obvious. I could actually see someone doing what appears to be trolling while actually not trolling at all, but actually being very up front and tipping his hand to the decision.

But hes not likely coming to UK.

If Shaka had been fired he would be a near lock for UK IMO (if not us then Auburn) but alas Shaka did enough before covid 19 apocalypse to keep his job and what AD wants to be looking for a coach right now ? I don't think they are trolling UK really but at the same time I think as hard as UK can be to turn down for future top 10 picks , they will so Brown can rack up numbers and play at home.

Now you want to talk someone who used UK for a hat on the table Fultz was sure an example of that.Begged for an offer , got one and quickly went to UW . In the same token people thought Knox was going to do that too. So you never know .

See, this is another way college basketball is changing. More society as a whole but we are a bunch of grown *** men discussing and trying to “interpret” a 17 year olds Instagram/social media account lol.

This dude is most likely already a multi millionaire. If he stays top 10 in the draft. A multi millionaire. He’s already kind of a social media “celebrity” and that will only increase. It’s about $$, glamour, brand etc. I mean I get it all but it’s just so stale and unrelatable to me anymore.

He is going to Texas, and they all know nobody will give two craps about him once that happens. Just one last round of attention whoring before going into oblivion

It's a shame he's taking the cuck route. He would have made a nice piece to the roster next year.

I agree... But I mean, look at Edwards. He will be the #1 pick. With a net worth of $50 million + guaranteed in about 2 months. They don’t care about 8 months in college. It’s a pit stop for them.

The best way for a recruit to bring attention to himself is mention Kentucky . Lots of these kids want to " shock the world " by choosing an also ran school over a blue blood.

BBN just needs to tune recruits out, until they actually sign. Lately we’ve seen these recruits wear UK gear, post pics of them in UK jerseys, post Drake/UK lyrics and then pick some other random school that probably won’t make the tournament. I would hate to be a college coach and deal with the recruiting game.

All true, but it is bizarre. It's like if a talented young writer had a choice between going to an 8 month writing school with other literary phenoms and accomplished authors before getting his/her first publication; or, alternatively, going to a writing school where no one has ever been published and where the 8 months end up minimizing their actual ability to better learn the craft (not to mention, a smaller avenue of future marketing opportunities). It ends up being a waste of their time on a structurally useful level.

It's strange because developing and honing their craft matters at every point of their career except for that 8 month window where they're at the greatest crossroads of development? Do they even care if they win? If not, what is the thing that drives them? Is it all about just "getting an NBA career?" Are we at that point where we're paying millions of dollars to a majority of players who fundamentally don't care if they win or lose at the end of the day? The blatant dichotomy between many of these players' apathy and the basic human value for competitive instinct is real. I don't get it. I grew up with young men who wanted to win at everything they put time into. Is it such an antiquated position to hold that assumes athletes still actually care about winning, even if it's an 8 month window in the middle of their career?

Strange times.

It's not strange anymore when everyone keeps saying it's strange. There may be a million scenarios, but there is a pattern.

Should be far and away Shaka’s best team. Plenty of experience to go with plenty of athleticism, and Greg Brown is a stud. Should be an extremely competitive game.

I wouldn’t take Edwards #1 but he’s one of three in the mix according to NBA insiders. However, Edwards is only in the mix because this is considered a weak draft at the top with very little consensus on the best player. He wouldn’t be in the mix in recent years for #1 other than maybe 2013.

Sounds like someone needs some attention. I don't think he's even considering UK, so this is likely trying to get his name out there and trolling UK fans. It worked, here we are talking about him.
