That Ole Miss offense is so successful because 1st, the Offensive Line understands what is expected of them because the run block and pass block the same way. Then the skill players know exactly where the open grass is.

The Ole Miss Defense is so bad , not because they don’t line up right, but because they just aren’t talented enough.

That Offense gives them a chance to win games they shouldn’t and that defense gives them a chance to lose games they shouldn’t.

Neither of these teams are good, but we are not good either. There’s a lot of that in the SEC this year.

Auburn’s offense is not explosive at all. They need to get Seth Williams the ball more in space.

Auburn is remarkably boring and predictable on offense. Not explosive at all. OM has given them some gifts this game, but the AU offense is just flat out bad.

Ole Miss is a missed chip shot field goal away from being 0-5 and Gus is 2 blown SEC calls away from being 1-4.

*0-5

This all SEC schedule is a grind for everyone. But I do like it.

It's a great offense. And he's embraced analytics. If they can recruit, he's going to win big.

Couple of things:

1. Corral does a lot of things to save that offense. He's elusive and prevents a ton of sacks. They better recruit an equally talented QB

2. I don't think Kiffin will be there long enough to build them up. Maybe they hire Lebby or Briles afterwards to continue it, but I could see Lane ending up at Texas, Auburn, etc within the next year or two.

Why can't the refs treat us as well as they do Auburn?

Well they did call back an Auburn kickoff return TD on a BS holding call and didn't call Ole Miss' WR for clear holding on a big play.

That call will be blamed for costing Ole Miss the game, but it shouldn't have been close to begin with if Auburn was treated fairly

The offense is successful because Corral is a playmaker. He dodges DL most plays

It is as bad of a unit as I can remember from a SEC school.

It’s very bad. We were also playing 2 WRs in the secondary today, but it was historically bad before that. My point is more that Auburn isn’t worth a ****. They could EASILY be 0-5 right now if officials just make the right call against Kentucky, Arkansas and Ole Miss.

Ole Miss got screwed today, no doubt, but Kiffin also made some really stupid decisions that lead to even being in that situation. We’ve also had terrible drops and drives stalled in back to back weeks by what appears to be just plain laziness out of WRs. Finally, I don’t understand how Kiffin isn’t out on the field MAKING them review that kickoff that was touched. Hell use a timeout! Don’t make it easy on them to f&*k you. We wasted a timeout on 4th and 5 to save a delay of game and then punt from the 50, so God knows that would’ve been worth one.

I think a lot of this is right and it’s more than fair, given it’s a rival board. I do agree that the offense can be very good, at times. But, we lose our identity at times, too. Corral is insanely talented, but has no sense, at all. Of course, y’all already knew that. Our OL can look good, situationally, but it’s not great. The tackles are good, and the Center is good, except for 5-6 bad snaps a game, which is a big deal. Our freshmen Guards are not good. We cannot run the ball in obvious run situations, unless we trick the defense into a hole opening up. The WRs, outside of Moore, are not good. Mingo could be, but there’s something else going on there. I don’t know if it’s attitude, mental, or what. But he can be great and terrible on the same drive, multiple times a game. They also don’t block well, down the field.

Defensively, yes, it’s primarily talent. But there’s more to it than that. Our players aren’t that much worse than Vandy or Arkansas and they have competent defenses. Our angles are laughable, our 3rd down defense is really bad, and our secondary just cannot tackle. Yes, I recognize that some of that comes down to talent, but it’s not the sole reason, despite being the primary one.

Finally, Kiffin still has a way to go as a game day HC. I think he’s a good leader of the program, I think he’s a good recruiter and evaluator, and I think he’s a good play caller. But he gets WAY too cute at times, struggles managing the clock way more than I’d have thought, and I have concerns about his ability to manage the little things. I still think he’s a drastic improvement over what we had, and in a year or two will win some big games at Ole Miss. But he has a ways to go to become the coach he wants to be.

Kiffins decisions have been very Questionable so far this season.

His play calling is pretty fun...and I like the scheme... but the field position decisions and the extra analysis...All looks to be a wash. If you are already playing with a short deck, I guess bet on the river?! Is he waiting on Karma?! He will have to learn WAMO his on special way, I guess.

One thing Kiffin and leach have in common....both are very hands on when it comes to the big momentum, decision making moments. Both have squandered games by being stubborn in their first season. Is this the reason that both find themselves coaching in MS?

He may end up being great....but he’s done nothing to impress me....other than keeping himself out of the news paper.

Ole miss has played up vs Alabama a lot over recent history. Other than that fluff stat, this team is as bad as us.

Damn this is a really good post. It also hurt my feelings.

The second paragraph about learning WAMO is especially true and hurtful. Just imagine the poor bastard who follows Bianco who has to learn about OMAHA.

Auburn is flat out not good. Our defense should hold them around 20-24 points.

As ugly as we’ve looked the last three weeks, we could finish 4-6 or possibly even 5-5 with some luck if the offense can at least be average. Vandy, Auburn, OM, and Missouri are all winnable- and three of those games are in Starkville.
