A lot has happened since that night, when 348 seconds into his team’s duel with Ole Miss, one Rebel (linebacker DeMarquis Gates) went low, another (end Breeland Speaks) went high and Fitzgerald’s right foot stayed planted in the Scott Field turf, crushed beneath his 230 pounds. Evidence of the ghastly injury is available in dozens of places on YouTube.
I thought it was about a 15min players meeting, so not sure if Fitz said it in jest that he "walked in, said he was leaving, and walked out." I think Fitz is salty about the way Mullen left/lied and didn't want to paint him in a positive light in the media.
Ready Ready?!?I wouldn't be too worried. I saw Nick at Hobie's last night with a buddy. He was walking around, playing pool, playing darts. No limp, no nothing. He's gonna be ready.
Good article, that gave us more details on Nick's ankle injury and recovery than I've seen elsewhere. I was wondering how an ankle could dislocate like that without breaking any bones, and it turns out there were some breaks.
I don't know, but all those details left me a little more concerned about Nick's recovery than I have been. While they say he could have played in the Spring game, it's clear he isn't yet 100%.

Yep. He did not exit gracefully. Had he been upfront, most would have been wishing him good luck.
Talked to a current player during the spring and he said for the most part the team was ecstatic that Mullin left. No one respected him and definitely didn’t during the Mississippi game. He said the players love the new staff and are excited he’s gone and Hevesy is gone
If you knew the trouble we had to bail Mullen out of constantly while he was in Starkville it would piss you off.
in Starkville it would piss you off. Starkville is the best thing that ever happened to that guy. With that I will say I appreciate what he did for us but it
certainly was returned in spades and he has no reason to have anything but good feelings for how he was treated. He would have been fired in most places.Man, I’d love to know. I also appreciate what he did, but it doesn’t give him a free pass. We’re not so desperate that we need to pay him 5 million dollars to stay, which is what Cohen put forth if I remember correctly. Really, FL is the big loser because they had to pay him 6 million right? He’s a good coach, but he’s not worth 6 million. In no world has he earned that salary. Like you said, he had no reason not to appreciate us in return. If anyone wants to blame the IB for a bad decision, it would be offering Mullen that much money to stay. Unless he knew Mullen would say no, and Cohen was playing 4D chess to screw over Scott Stricklin.
There are some things where the details are better left unsaid.
VVVVV Mullen thought this scenario was funny. VVVVVV

Oh hell naw, you can't drop hints like that and then just clam up.
Out with it sir!
Basically confirming that:
1. Mullen spent most of the week of the Egg Bowl talking with both Tennessee and Florida. Did not attend many meetings or practices.
2. Spent the week leading up to the Egg Bowl telling everyone within earshot he wasn’t going anywhere.
3. The players were very resentful and upset about the way he handled it. The meeting was VERY short and he didn’t give the players hardly any attention or opportunity to ask questions.
4. He did leave a note with Cohen several weeks prior to the Egg bowl saying he would try to make this his last year in Starkville.
All this was on the Boneyard about 6 months ago. No idea what episode... but he did a whole show on how Mullen left. Basically said what everyone here has... Grateful that he put MSU on the map, but a piece of **** for leaving the way he did.
Interesting take on the OM defensive scheme to intentionally break Fitz’s ankle.
Seriously, I don't think Mullen has ever done anything in his life "gracefully".
