Why on earth would u ever want to zone this team?

And now isn't time to implement a zone defense.

We will roll with what got us here

UCLA beat us at Rupp. Alford (and UCLA) have beaten us the last two years. Both Cal and the players will be more than ready to change that. Plus UCLA is a veteran team and our young guys have come a long way since they beat us in early December. We may not win but if there was ever a revenge factor this should be it. We can beat them.

UK will be ready !! UCLA wants no part of a UK team that's playing really good defense now unlike in December..Monk, Bam, and Fox aren't a bunch of green Freshmen like they were in early December or in this NCAA Tournament anymore. UK is 9-0 on neutral courts. UK has won 13 games in a row. UK's defense is much better than UCLA's defense. It's a revenge game for UK. UK will surprise A LOT of people in Memphis next week.

LOL they are a 3 seed who came in 3rd place in thier own conference and only lost 4 due to play a horrible horrible schedule. We are a the better team. If we play well we win . Such hyperbole . They beat us when we couldnt guard a door . Now our D is top 10ish . D wins titles as tourney games arent 95-90 usually . They are 68-65 .
Yeah, a conference that is 8-1 in this tournament so far.
These guys are the best outside shooting team I have seen in a while. They appear to never miss.
However, how do they guard Bam?
It'll be interesting for sure.

If there is any pride in their heart Kentucky will avenge the loss to UCLA. You don't forget when you get beat at home, Kentucky led that game early and can beat this team. One big concern I have is getting beat on the boards with three guards, if we are clicking on offense we should be fine. The Welsh kid has hurt us bad the last two games with mismatches, not sure who we are going to have on him, big concern.

If we don't stop them I think they win it all. The fate of the world rests on that game!

They are huge inside and deep. Controlling the boards is key. We can't trade fouls with them.

I think our offense has to just be better than what we've seen the past couple of games. Monk has to be closer to his season average, Bam is way better than he was in December, Fox has improved his shot so much since then, and Hawkins and Willis are contributing much more. Our defense was non existent back then and is greatly improved. Still going to be a very tough game but it will be for them too. Should be a good one. Proud of our guys no matter how it comes out.

If we manage to win, I want Butler to beat UNC. Ever since we were denied a chance to face Butler in national title games in 2010 and 2011 (which I believe we would've won going away) I've wanted to face them in the tournament.

USC zoned them earlier in the year and upset them.

I get not changing what you do best. But Cal's shown some inclination to zone a little this year and we don't have quality depth inside.

Ill say this.. Gotta stay focused.. No hero ball unless someone is going off. We were focused and poised for much of WSU.. But we'll need to be in this game for the entire 40min.

Probably 3 of the best 5 remaining teams in our region. What a surprise.

And godforbid someone gets knocked out early. Not only do we get the worst regions.. No one seems to bow out early. Seems we olay the best teams 90% of the time.

Right. They just put up 20 more than the BearCats usually allow.
The teams in their conference that finished above them are also in the Sweet 16. One without their best player and their conference has the best record entering the 16.

Everyone talks about Cincinnati's defense but UK's defense is rated higher than Cincinnati.

I'll take Calipari (in a revenge game, where he has a good track record) over Alford every day of the week!!

When we played them at Rupp we were bad offensively and defensively. We shot 41% from the field. They shot 53%. And we were right there at the end.

I like how we've transformed since then. Let's go play.

Gonna be a war. USC had em beat in the p12 tourney and lost by 2. Arizona beat them handily a night later.

Tonight Cincy didnt have the guard play. If we guard the 3 better than Cincy and Kent State then I like our chances.

It's all good until the last 5 minutes anyhow..

The Final Four could be easier than our regional finals, who would be harder than UCLA UNC?
