Yeah canned him after 3 games and yet another wasted season. And didn't even save on the buyout everyone thought was so important. I can't say he's doing a commendable job, but I can say he's fitting in with the massive amount of incompetence the Nebraska program has shown recently.

I'm sure a lot of the $7.5M to Frost was already scheduled to come back to the administrators in a kick-back. Happens all the time.

Don’t you have to ask, are our chances better with Frost the next 3 weeks or with an interim? Looking ahead, you have to be thinking, what is our best chance to win the IU game. Frost or an interim? The answer was with an interim and that is one reason this had to be done today imo. I was thinking it’d be Whipple as he clearly has the most experience but hell, let’s roll with Joseph, he seems to be a player’s coach.

I was wondering about that too. One of the reasons for bringing Frost back was to give Trev time to line up someone else, to send out feelers and to gauge the interest. Trev himself noted last year after renegotiating Frost's contract that these kinds of deals rarely work out. That to my mind was Trev signaling that Frost would most likely get fired this year. And he would have been a blooming idiot therefore if he did not start the process a long time ago.
Time will tell. He may or may not have his guy lined up, but even if he does he is going to have to stay quiet for a while if his new guy is still coaching somewhere else. I don't care about "splash hires" or any of that hype, just bring in a proven coach who can recruit, gameplan, make in-game adjustments, bring in a solid staff, and develop players into a working system.

I'm actually sad, not happy. A much better outcome would have been for Frost to have been wildly successful, making this change unnecessary. It had to be done, but that doesn't make it a positive thing.

Yeah unless there is some negotiation with Frost that we aren't aware of(maybe they told him, "we are going to fire you October 1st, but if you want to step down now and accept the October 1st buyout, go for it!") this is really weird. Frost 100% deserved to be fired, but why keep him around for this year if you didn't care about the buyout? I believe Alberts can be a good AD, but he mishandled this situation. We should have been on a new coach by now.
Firing Frost of course had to be done, but it is weird timing. If you are going to bring Frost back after going 3-9 last year, just wait a few weeks and save 7 million dollars.
