Clemson University is getting hammered on X for its stance on the professor's that said vicious things about the assassination of Charley. Now state legislatures are wanting to defund Clemson's state funds.
What was Clemson's stance? I saw what the professor said but not Clemson's response

I am not a political person but many of these politicians need to look in the mirror and get off social media. Every college campus in America has people most of us would never agree with, support, or understand. To start some movement to defund Clemson over an individual just shows how small minded some of these politicians are. How about the other 20,000 people at the University that are trying to do the right thing? I have no idea what an individual said but I am sure it will be addressed. I've got a 20 year old asking me if these so called future governors are going to try and close the University which is ridiculous political posturing

Man, I wish I hadn’t spent 15 minutes reading through those comments. 95% of the people on Twitter seem to be complete morons.
This is what I don’t get. Literally politicians and so called Clemson fans are not going to ever give money to the school again over this? lol makes no sense to me. People are actually insane and need to take a step back from social media and go enjoy life

Am I missing something? Clemson’s statement condemned his. Do people want him fired?
It’s not just one. It’s at least 3. And yes, people want them fired. They also don’t think Clemson’s statement was good enough. Lots of people calling for Clements to resign and are threatening to stop donating to the University and IPTAY. Numerous state and federal officials have contacted Clemson and expressed concerns about current and future funding.

In the Military we might consider the whole thing a State driven activity.
Why would a group assassinate a member of it's own group??? Publicly?
I mind my own business and this one is a headscratcher.

the professor suggested others act out as Mangioni or Charlie Kirk's shooter did. Literally. That's not hate speech that an attempting to inspire younger people to murder someone. Clemson needs to not only fire that individual but find others that speak that way and fire them. Period. Otherwise it should lose funding.

Imagine if the same would’ve been said about George Floyd. They would’ve been fired on the spot. Cowardly move by Clemson.

BINGO...there would be riots and Clemson's campus would probably be destroyed. I love President Clements and all he has done for Clemson but allowing this and putting out a statement but taking no action is basically condoning and allowing it. Words are cheap...do something about it. I mean at least suspend them at a minimum but they literally went to social media and praised the shooter. Embarrassing look for Clemson and bad publicity

Clements needs to sack up and do what everyone else has done in the same situation

While I agree This is a bad look for CU, but is anybody on this board actually going to “boycott” or stop donating to CU/Iptay over this? Maybe I’m wrong but I doubt it

The thing is...IPTAY has zero to do with it. It is a completely different entity and completely separate but I can see and even understand if some want to stop with giving to the university.

This is a big deal
