I said it early, he doesn't know how to adjust to the guys he has and that is a big red flag. The plays he wants won't work so adjust the offense. Vedral is the guy because of scheme bias but the scheme seems to suck to change it up

This is wrong . He’s the damn HC!! He not only has input , he approves everyone else’s input ! Imagine if he said actually said what you suggest ! He would get railed
A good OC should be able to hide the short comings of his players. Noah as a QB really doesn't have anything that an OC can exploit. His arm is below average, his pocket awareness is below average, his only true positive is that he doesn't really throw into double and triple coverage often. When that is your starting QB even high % plays won't be great it's one thing if you can't sling it 70 yards down field, it's another when your 10 yards passes take an eternity to get to the target. His fastball is like a Tim Wakefield change up.

Rutgers comes onto the field like we just got out of bed and are late for school. Nobody knows what they are doing or where they belong. Everybody is looking to the staff for God knows what . Even coming back on the field from the previous wasted TO! That is 100% on the coaching staff.
You also create a short list of plays for critical spots (4th and goal, 4th and short etc.) and decisively choose one when the moment comes. Having guys looking to the sideline for instruction until there is little time on the play clock is just insanity. This burning TOs and taking penalties is on the staff. Not the guys.
There is ALWAYS a strategy that will work to be competitive no matter what your personnel looks like. Even a bad team can be organized, disciplined and utilize the limited skills available. We have good athletes. Be prepared and play with purpose.
Doing the same things over and over and expecting different results is (as they say) the definition of insanity.
And FFS PLEASE stop with the fake hand off to nobody! We look like effing morons. Maybe there is some convoluted reason that can be given for doing it, but in the REAL WORLD it is just plain STUPID!

And it's one thing to score 13 against 3 top 10 teams. We had chances against Michigan and MSU and not all of that falls on the coaches. But fricken 7 points against Northwestern is a sign of MASSIVE regression.

The HC doesn’t get a say?? He might give his OC play calling freedom. That doesn’t mean he can’t override a call if he wants to.
I just find it impossible to believe that Schiano, who was something of a control freak when he was here last time, plays no part in deciding what plays should be called. My guess is that @Hardslider21 is right; he lets the OC call the play, but he overrides it if he thinks necessary.
That’s ridiculous. It’s a 12 game schedule over 14 weeks for all teams.

Yet in this instance, one team was coming off a bye, and didn't travel, while the other did travel, after playing 3 straight games against ranked opponents.
The excuses are laughable. I guess playing 3 straight ranked opponents caused the mind boggling game management, numerous penalties, blown coverages, unpreparedness, etc.

stop blaming the OC and the QB. no one did well in this game. the biggest problem is the line.
if i remember correctly Dwumfour played a big role last year with some current DL. it kind of worked because we had a few key players on the defense. this year, we do not have enough key players on both sides of the ball. Michael Vick or Russell Wilson to make this O score. injuries and lack of depth is killing us.

A fresh team has an advantage over a fatigued team.
It doesn't make that game anything more then a bad loss, it doesn't change our record, but it is reality.

it's a form of cognitive dissidence where as people can't accept that the second coming of GS is not what they thought he would be. He hasn't changed as much as we'd of liked, that is apparent. The continued support of Gleeson by fans, despite the obvious flaws and mismanagement, is astounding!
I think the bright side to a bad season is Gleeson is here longer.

Well the third iteration of the spread has started to suck. Ciarrocca, Mehringer, now Gleeson. And the same excuses. The line can't block. Schiano is suffocating the offense. We don't have the players. Nothing has changed since 2010. Despite all the promises. You don't need great offensive linemen. Spreading the field opens the running game. You don't need a rocket-armed quarterback. It wears down defenses. It's fun to watch. Not in Piscataway it's not.
You know after watching Navy lose to the #2 in the nation by 7 and Army put up 56 against #16 Wake Forest I'm even willing to try the Bone. Linemen half the size of ours manage to put huge DL's on the ground and spark a running game. In 10 years Paul Johnson at Georgia Tech went 83-60 and went to 9 bowl games, played in 3 ACC Championships, won 1 and went to two Orange Bowls. So don't tell me it won't work in the big time.
