Their is good young talent on this team - and they came to play for Eddie. Now is not the time to fire the coach and have em all transfer out. 2016-2017 season was the earliest we were ever gonna see results. It was when Eddie recruits became upper class men. That's usually when ball players start to come into their own . Let's see what they become before we decide to start from scratch again. Keep Eddie - This team will win games next year

PG: Sanders, Nigel, Tripp
SG: Nigel, Williams, Dailey
SF: Laurent, Foreman, Dailey
PF: Freeman, Foreman
C: Diallo, Doorson, Thiam

Wouldn't surprise me. We always F' it up. Not even gonna give the guy time to coach his players as upper classmen. Rutgers is a Mid Major level Bball program. That means we have to win with upperclassmen. It will never happen if we keep firing the coach every 3 years

...and we are so lucky he's show so much potential as a coach!![roll]

Oh God.

Please end the **** show now. Everyone needs to stop thinking like we are in the Eastern 8. It's time we start acting like a BIG 10 program. Eddie isn't getting it done. Please let the misery end and bring in a coach who'll build a program.

His players are Freshman & Sophomores - still growing into thier games. Fresh and Soph who are ready to contribute right away at the B10 level aren't coming here. They play against us. Once again we have to wait for our young players to grow and mature. This team is extremely young and inexpirenced. We have to stop starting over and see the process thru for once

I'm in the same camp as jerzeyguy on this. We've hit rock bottom, but not only haven't we seen what a healthy team can do, we haven't seen what an upperclass team can do. There is little advantage to starting over at this point since we'll eat Eddie's contract anyway, and we don't have the money to throw at the problem. Hobbs is intent on building new facilities, and that will take a couple of years. In two years we'll have a team of juniors and new facilities (assuming Hobbs & Co. get it done), so as much as I've been conflicted about the program, my sense is that Eddie will return, and I'm okay with it. I'm kinda curious to see how this plays out when our guys are healthy, older, and bigger.

See that's where you're wrong. Besides Waters and before the stupid naked FT's under Bannon, the AD's at Rutgers were incompetent when it comes to the BB program and they were cheap. They hired on the cheap. They didn't give a crap about the product on the court or the facilities and after 25 years of this, this proverbial **** has hit the fan. It's only because we're in the B1G that the pressure is on catch up and become a modicum of mediocrity just to compete in the B1G. Hobbs, was brought in to stop the in-fighting between those that liked Julie and those that never gave Julie a chance because they were loyal to TP, who under his guidance helped ruin men's BB even more than Uncle Bob and Gruninger and that's difficult to even believe.

To ameliorate the TP crowd vs. the Julie crowd, Barchi actually did something intelligent regarding RU sports---he actually brought in a top flight guy who knows his way around Jersey politics and how to fund raise. Hobbs was brought in to change the losing culture of sports at Rutgers for good. If EJ was really a good college BB coach, we wouldn't be dealing with these blowouts like we've seen, not just this season (excuses with the injuries) but when he actually had some good players here. Eddie has proven to be a terrible fit for Rutgers or IMO any college BB program. So after 25 years of this garbage I believe Hobbs will make the right hire; get the practice facilities built; and redo the RAC to make Rutgers BB relevant again. Sorry, but Rutgers is NOT a "mid major" program. We are part of one of the best if not the best Power5 conferences in college sports. We need to start acting like it. And after Eddie is gone we will bring in someone who knows how to teach the kids, recruit the kids, and get the RAC back to where it once was---one of the most feared places to play in all of college BB. So, Eddie doesn't need another year. Our program is destroyed. We need to thank him and move on.

No need to thank him. He'll have pulled close to 5 million dollars out of the school for less than 30 wins. And for those that want another year, what makes anyone think Jordan will be any better a coach with another year. Even with an improved roster, the team won't play defense. It's not in Jordan's make up. We will also avoid a bunch of closer games that he can blow with his poor end game coaching. Move on.

Another year to do what? Who's going to develop all this young talent? This staff couldn't coach its way out of a wet paper bag with a hole. These players will only get worse.

Agree.
If people think we have all this young talent - which we really don't, why not get a real coach to try to develop it.

What upperclass team?

You mean Etou? Or Ryan Johnson?

Next year, the recruits EJ has brought in as freshmen will be:
Sr: None
Jr: Foreman, Williams
RS So: Doorson, Diallo
So: Laurent, Sanders, Goode
Fr: Tripp, Dailey, Thiam

So... two upper classmen? Padded with a transfer and Juco?

I thought Thiam opted for Fordham.

We're gonna lose 80% of our roster via transfer. None of these kids are from Jersey. They came out here to play for Jordan. Justin Goode will be the starting shooting guard next season
Maybe he'll transfer too

Unfortunately, the feeling among reporters is that Hurley won't come.
The reason they might feel that way is because Danny didn't come before and the reason he didn't probably hasn't changed.
Nothing to do with his coaching ability, but what RU is willing to do .
