I think he was hired to deal with football. Don't think anyone anticipated basketball too. The two situations are not really comparable. For football, it was more than the record.

He was hired with hoops in mind and fundraising. Football will take care of itself...that was a short term thing that had to be dealt with immediately..the pressing concerns are facilities across the board and the deplorable basketball program. Hobbs was not hired for his football expertise.
