I'm pretty surprised at the OP for trying to stir up sh-t for no reason. Then again maybe I shouldn't be.

Happy to see the mighty SJV get their *** handed to them after some of their bitching about how playing at RU instead of MetLife was beneath them.

Which local public school did Tony Brown spurn anyway to play for the mighty SJV?

Anthony Brown had his coming-out
party cancelled today. His opponent managed to reach .500 against him and stifled him in the process. He's going to play for the Dazzler, which is about his level. Nobody kid at a nowhere high school going to play for no one.

First off this is an awful thread. Disappointed in the OP for starting it.

That being said... Russos athleticism and to be honest laviano's as well could be a fit in a Wisconsin style spread offense - not an osu style.

I'd like to see what Russo could do depending on who the OC is. Might be fun.

Pretty low class post.

Pretty low class post.
The last line might not have been necessary, but I'm good with the rest of it. I had a little problem seeing DePaul play the schedule they played (and wanted no part of) lose close game after close game and get no respect. They did what the state made them do, as crushed two undefeated teams in the playoffs to win the Parochial B title. News12 and the Star-Ledger can stew on this one for a while... But that Brown is not a big time college player, which is why he's headed to BC.

I found your post to be unnecessary and vitriolic, especially since I've been saying all along that the "southern" parochials aren't up to the standard of the northern parochials when it comes to football. There's a HUGE difference between a school like SJV or RBC and the SPPs and DBs of the world. The suggestion that "all parochials should just play each other and not a conference schedule" is a stupid one, IMO. I wasn't a little surprised to see SJV get their clocks cleaned today.

But that doesn't make Anthony Brown less of a player. He's good. He's smart. In the right program at the next level, he would be successful.

I'm just going to leave it at that. The people who interpreted my OP as some sort of desire to see Russo decommit are overreacting. People here tend to do that. My point was intended to be nothing more than "in my opinion Ash is going to bring in a system that would be more suited to a player like Brown than a player like Russo". If anyone wants to disagree, fine. If anyone wants to be a dick about it, that's fine too.

I would think a spread offense would be ideal for a guy like Russo. Good arm, quick reads. The spread is also ideal for running the ball because it prevents other teams from loading the box. Think of the Eagles when they had Shady McCoy. It also commits the defense to expose what formation they are in. It would actually fit well with the current group of players as it is less reliant on TE and FB.
The read option that OSU goes with a lot would probably not be a good fit for any of the QBs on the team and possibly the OL.
I would guess he will settle on the spread or more conventional pro set offense but hard to tell.

Ash said he builds schemes around his players. Ash also said his ideal offense would be somewhere between Bielema's ground and pound and Meyer's spread.
This is the exact thing I was thinking as I was reading OP. Coach Ash has demonstrated he will scheme to the players he has. "Simplify" and something to the effect of let them play to their abilities come to mind. We did not hire Rich Rod, who would throw over an entire offense because it doesn't fit his scheme, as he did in Michigan.

We are incredibly lucky Russo has committed to the Banks, and Coach Ash will no doubt firm him up as an early priority. Let's try not to worry, our new coach is not going to implode our roster or recruiting class.

I think Coach Ash will reach out to Brown pretty quickly.

OT some but on the Cuse fan board their fanbase has been fighting for 5 pages at least on pages ''122-125'' and counting about whether or not we are/were a rival....its hilarious watching them call Townie an ''old fart'' for his disdain of us...I don't even want to join in...lol...it might pull them together...dumpster fire my behind..let them shred each other up..

Currently a BC commit, but that shouldn't be a problem for Coach Ash.

Smart money already understands that our current Elite 11 QB commit isn't a great fit for the kind of offense Ash wants to run. There's a good chance Russo bolts. If so, I thank him for his commitment to Rutgers, the effort to date and wish him the best of luck in the future.
