unless you're a member of Edison Lighthouse
Edison is no where near a $200K pension lol
As I said easily verifiable. Don’t look up what the guys that were indicted made. 2 of the guys mad 300+ with their scam. HahahaahI just googled the Edison chief and others and they making serious coin
Yes !As I said easily verifiable.
What are you talking about? It’s directly from the pension website. I know for a fact the Edison chief takes home more than what is listed there. And who said anything about pensionable or not?that’s not all pensionable.
I’m not trying to argue I’m just telling you that all of their extra duty is not pensionable. What are you talking about? It’s directly from the pension website. I know for a fact the Edison chief takes home more than what is listed there. And who said anything about pensionable or not?
You are the one that is saying extra duty. I know my LT buddy stopped doing extra duty years ago when they were all getting jammed up. He is on the list at $224 salary.I’m not trying to argue I’m just telling you that all of their extra duty is not pensionable.
No kidding. That was never the discussion.I’m not going to argue about it I’m just informing you. Yes you can make over $200K a year salary In those towns as a supervisor even without overtime, extra duty, etc. I’m just saying you’re not going to make 200k as a retired officer from your pension. You’ll make 65% of what your last years salary was, minus extra duty/overtime.
Ok my fault, I must’ve misread it then.No kidding. That was never the discussion.
Seriously ???Well since this thread has gone off the rails….
A moose bit my sister….
LOL…Since a movie was quoted, I threw that little obscure line out from a Monty Python movie…Seriously ???
Is she OK?
Didn't remember that line but I thought it was too our there to be real.LOL…Since a movie was quoted, I threw that little obscure line out from a Monty Python movie…
I would think most rutgers grads are qualified enough to move up to supervising level .I’m not going to argue about it I’m just informing you. can't say you're wrong because I can only google the info trying to find what you know.Plenty of regular cops in certain areas making 200+ Depends on the area. I’m not condemning cops for making that money. Have many family members that are cops.
Was merely responding to ritgerskid that said Edison was nowhere near 200k. Looks like there are 50 Edison cops make 175+
You’re not searching the public records there . Data universe.can't say you're wrong because I can only google the info trying to find what you know.
But it seems like there's a difference in what you know and what I found
Police or Sheriff's Patrol Sergeant Salary in Edison, New Jersey | Salary.com

I dan't know for sure,, but feel salary.com bases their salary claim on the public records they found ..
You can go to data universe and search by name . Just Google some names , some guys were recently arrested or in the news so shouldn’t be hard to find.well give me a hand and show your work on "looks like there are 50 Edison cops make 175+ "

wasn't arguing with you as much as trying to make sure police officers weren't being put down and implied that they're overpaidYou can go to data universe and search by name . Just Google some names , some guys were recently arrested or in the news so shouldn’t be hard to find.
Not sure why you are arguing .
Cop is a good and important career . It is not for everyone, but is a great career choice for those that it is for
I don’t think anyone in this thread said that . You posted don’t go educational or law enforcement career paths.wasn't arguing with you as much as trying to make sure police officers weren't being put down and implied that they're overpaid
I attached the link directly to the NJ state pension database. Which includes all participants and their salaries. Click on the link and search away. You can be as specific (name) or broad as you want(pension, town, county etc…). Click on link select county (Middlesex), then town (Edison), then specific pension(police fire) and you will see there are 300 or so participants in that category both police and fire.well give me a hand and show your work on "looks like there are 50 Edison cops make 175+ "

and I used it, replying with this:I attached the link directly to the NJ state pension database. Which includes all participants and their salaries. Click on the link and search away. Not sure why you would go to a random website like salary.com which is never correct. And use that as source.
Don’t understand what you are trying to say and the relevance within the initial discussion. Someone mentioned a career path that would allow for a good income(police officer). What that persons title or responsibility has no bearing on this discussion. But it is why I put title (LT/sgt) and years of experience in my earlier post. Police in NJ do well and in Edison very well.and I used it, replying with this:
"Checked one high salaried ( just listed as police and fireman's retirement system in that salary link from Bayonne) and he's the Chief of Police.
So when you look at what they make be sure to find out what they do and not just think they are regular members of the force making the big bucks."
Didn't feel like going down list then googling name to see what position on the force the person has.
Did one with a high salary that was in the link you posted and that link only showed earnings according to the retirement system and not the position held.in which I had to check outside the link you supplied and found out that person was chief of police.
Rather then do an in-depth search went to salary.com for a generalization salary search.
Both of our links don't show the full picture and both require more through investigation to show the whole picture about earnings.
So I'll take your word about what retirement link shows, but will understand for a more accurate finding need to find out what position held, patrol officer or higher and breakdown of earnings..
Mine can be considered a guess if you like or just plain inaccurate., because t realy doesn't show enough to be considered trustworthy only something that gives a general idea about salary
I just checked one person in the link you posted and only found salary earned as reported.Don’t understand what you are trying to say and the relevance within the initial discussion. When someone says that you can have a nice career working at a bank do you automatically think of a CEO’s salary?
Gym teacher? AYFKM??Geo could play professionally. But seems like his private instructional camps in Woodbridge are taking off . Maybe become a gym teacher/coach in Woodbridge and make 100k after 7 or 8 years .
Get that pension and benefits on the books and do the private stuff and camps for 30k plus off the books ! Not a bad gig.
No one ever wants to be wrong.Name a more iconic duo than college sports message boards and threads going off the rails
I apologize. I tried to bow out of this thread a couple of times but kept getting replied to. Not necessarily by you. But rereading the thread it came across argumentative. No one ever wants to be wrong.
disagreeing with another can look argumentative, but I didn't look on your messages that way.I apologize. I tried to bow out of this thread a couple of times but kept getting replied to. Not necessarily by you. But rereading the thread it came across argumentative.
Nope all good.disagreeing with another can look argumentative, but I didn't look on your messages that way.
Just seen your posts as someone respectably putting their point across .
If you, or anyone else, looked upon my replies as argumentative, my apologies they weren't meant to be like that.
Sometimes I can seem a little pushy , but that wasn't my intention when posting my thoughts. about this issue
No worries at all. We’re all adults here. Let’s continue with the OP lol.I apologize. I tried to bow out of this thread a couple of times but kept getting replied to. Not necessarily by you. But rereading the thread it came across argumentative.
