Is it same to assume Gavin will be right in the middle of Freshman Of The Year conversations?

If so, who are his likely competitors?

Idk if now is the best time to use this comparison but his game reminds me of Jason Tatum's game. Big wing that can handle the ball has above average athleticism and a excellent shooter.

For the Big 10? Maybe. Nationally. Nah. Our offense isn't engineered for guys to post monster numbers.

Will the two kids in the riot squad start who rock the wolf masks start wearing specs over their wolf masks?

Wolf mask + specs + head band.

I need to see it.

I believe Booker from MSU will be the only frosh ranked higher than Gavin. It’s a deep league though, tons of high 4* prospects. I personally loved Gus Yalden who we almost landed. He isn’t ranked that high and ended up at Wiscy - I think he’ll be really good.

Yes....but Gavin has higher upside. He has a much bigger body and potential!
People forget how good of a shooter Myles Mack was. Unfortunately, just played on some bad teams.

Douby really missed his time by 7 years or so. Much more of a need for his skill set in todays game. Didn’t help he went to the black hole that is Sacramento.

Only question is, how soon before his number is retired ? Y’all think January ? JFC

Don't worry. If he is as good as everyone is projecting - he'll likely have played himself into a draft prospect. Then if he leaves after only 1 year - nobody will want to retire his jersey. 😉

I think we can cap it before “will be the best freshman in the country next year”

I’m as excited as anyone for Gavin but let’s temper expectation a bit

That might get partially on me. My original question should have specified Big Ten Freshman Of The Year. I didn't even consider asking about national.

What’s the over/under on how many B1G games Griffiths plays before Andy Katz has him as B1G Freshman of the year?

Higher upside than a first round pick? Douby was easily the best player than any other we’ve had on the banks in 30 years. You think he’s that good? Sure hope you’re right. Douby was also a great athlete.
I agree! Very excited for Gavin but Douby was so special! He averaged over 25 pts a game his junior year. In China he averaged over 30 pts a game....twice! Very athletic as well

6’7” vs 6’3” is a big deal
Griffiths athleticism widely slept on watch the TD Garden highlights. Righty going off right foot gif two handed dunk is rare as are no step hard dunks by a guy his height
