It doesn't really matter if Nova were correct or not: he shouldn't have said it. What good does it do other than make him feel self-righteous?

Some unsolicited advice to the young man: Don't trash where you've been. Look forward. No prospective employer wants to hear, "I was great but the place was terrible." It immediately makes one think, "What will he say about our place?"

Hey Gary Nova.. note this source.. a Princeton pedigree.. taught at Rutgers.. is now in New Zealand.. and he still loves Rutgers. You think Rutgers did not have its warts where it came to.. well, everything? We have a name for it.. the Rutgers Screw.. but many people look past that. You should too.

Ya know, I was going to say something rude about Gary but I won't. The truth is he was the last qb we've had here who was capable of a great performance. He delivered that many times. Took all kinds of **** from the fan base without losing his cool. Was outstanding in our last bowl win. Truth is the Rutgers offense has been no threat to anyone since he graduated.

Moreover, his father, during the last bowl game, had tremendous things to say about how they felt about staying home, words that should be replayed for every top NJ recruit.

His results were a mixed bag and surely the four OCs in four years did not promote his development. He did the best he could. Remember, he he committed from Pitt to come to RU because the coach he wanted (Hafley?) Left Pitt and joined the RU staff. Obviously he was particular about which coaches he played under, and the circumstances here betrayed that notion - not one time, but four years in a row. How awful for him. I understand where he is coming from.

If he doesn't donate, then he's just some internet troll. WGAF
GN got some weird level of support here.. he'd have awful games where he got called out for his play.. for his choices.. and posters making valid criticisms were even called racist.. I was called a racist against Dominicans.. when I assumed he was a North Jersey Italian all along (yes I am racist against them, but I'm Irish so its understandable.. I only love their food.. and women... and mob movies.. and music..)

hmmm.. how many have spend decades here "venting"?
You realize the difference right?

It's one thing to the exchange barbs over a sport and another to tear down using your own name.

Who in there might mind would employ someone who has a history of tearing down their past employer? Millenials and social media, SMH.

So he would have been cool in your book.... as long as he hid behind an anonymous Cobra Kai screenname like a coward?

Aren't you the guy who doesn't watch college football anymore because night games exist and they make you angry?

You missed many of Gary Nova's greatest moments (Michigan, WSU, etc.).

I was 13 when Britt left, and 14 when ad did, and they smoked hella weed as do many of the players now. Flood sucks and was corrupt but don’t act like Gary Nova was the only one to ever smoke pot, if everyone were to be kicked off our team who did we would have few guys left
Oh so that’s why AD came into camp over weight.
Seriously though, if what you’re saying is true, it boggles my mind. Getting high and drunk is fun, but not for one second would I put any opportunity, or my livelihood, or anything with any stakes at risk because of it. Even when I was 20-24. Crazy.

It doesn’t actually put their livelihood on the line unless you’re josh Gordon. A few retired nfl players have said they literally played in the nfl while high like smoked before games and never got caught

If his posts came last year after we fired Mehringer I could have a little more understanding.

Too bad Kill retired for health reasons...otherwise he would still be here.

Boy do some of our letterwinners do a lot of complaining.
I wish I could say it was sour grapes but I agree with him

He was a four year starter that RU (and all those various coaches) stuck with through good times and bad. Many college QB's with equal or greater talent finished their careers at various schools without ever even having seen the field or maybe they got to play some in their junior or senior year.

Count me as part of the crowd that feels coming out and saying this now does not accomplish anything good for any of the parties.

I have no problem with Turn- nova, but that rant says to me he thinks that if it weren't for rutgers, I'd be a pro right now . He's pissed that he had to join the working world of mortgage sales, and not being in a nfl program

He took 3 chances, and it didn't pan out. I get it.

You have to be pretty stupid to think it was not highly likely to repeat itself. The guy did retire from coaching because he had a seizure one time. In his had more than 7 game day seizures. In his 5 years at Minnesota he only went one season where he didn't have a seizure. How can you honestly not foresee this happening? It was a bad hire if you are tying to establish any continuity.
PSU nut, I usually agree with your line of logic. With that being said, having experience with Epilepsy, what Kill was doing to curb his effects has been quite successful for most. Good diet, blood pressure and potentially using cannabis oil in which is legal in NJ, and prescribed frequently out of NYU Neurology, he may have been controlling the symptoms (seizure free) before getting back into coach. That incident in the EMU game could easily have set off a trigger and brought them on again, and sent him down a spiral of seizure activity. Epilepsy is not a black and white sort of disease since the triggers are all theory based, and in all reality he may have came back to coaching too early.

That's baloney. You and skillethead don't have the same stake in Rutgers Football that he has. He's given four years of his life to the program. He shouldn't look past obvious errors in judgement, and should continue to speak his mind, and his views should be considered, right or wrong. We'll never see improvement if we continue to look past previous mistakes. Gary Nova loves Rutgers as much as anyone else, and wants Rutgers to succeed.

One of the biggest reasons we've had x OCs in x years is that the program doesn't have the financial support it needs to be successful. Ben Mcdaniels and Drew Mehringer NEVER should have been hired as OC. At programs like OSU, UM, and PSU, such hires would NEVER have happened. Yet here we are. The next hire needs to be a home run, and Rutgers needs to pay whatever it needs to pay to make that happen.
