Just saw some stats. The average tenure of a FBS head coach is 3.8 years and that 77% of seniors were recruited by a different head coach. 6 new HC's in the SEC alone this year. That's college football today. He should stop whining like a wus and appreciate the free education he got, which is more than most people can say. BOO freakin HOO

Get bent jabroni and learn the proper use of "their" vs. "there".

Looks like somebody was drinking a few Whinekens.
AMEN to what Gary said. It was Chaos here. He was a warrior and if it comes down to busting him for grammar and syntax the you've missed point totally.

Merry Christmas Gary. You're an all-time RU man with a seat at the head table.

It will take a generation and Millenial misery to come to the conclusion you keep your mouth shut.

Something us adults were taught by the heavy hand of our fathers and learned.

To be fair he sign up for GS and had to put up with Flood, however Flood stuck with him as a starter no matter what. So I am not sure what he is on about.

As far as Kill, it is for health reasons, so how the hell is this Rutgers fault again? People need to think before they post things on-line.

I dont blame him or any players for being mad/transferring. Revolving door at OC and people wonder why our offense sucks. Defense has been on the up and up. While O still cant find its bearings.

Nova clearly loved the program. Sad to see the rotation in OCs this one however, is health related. Should of been pissed during the Mehringer firing but not Kill.

Why this venting? Most people think he was a talented guy who persevered and finished on a high note - in part as a result of the coaching of Ralph Friedgen ...
kind of difficult to understand - what was the purpose of this rant? what productive point was being made?

I'm not a fan of former players doing things like this, but if anyone has a reason to vent it's Nova. As much as Ped State type games crushed me, this kid had a ton more to give and would have with more consistency at the Hale Center. That said, I wish explayers would be less negative when on social media. It makes them look like they don't understand the whole team player concept. Its hard enough to recruit. PS, thank you Mr. Nova for the North Carolina and Michigan type games. Those games were frigin awesome!

If his posts came last year after we fired Mehringer I could have a little more understanding.

Too bad Kill retired for health reasons...otherwise he would still be here.

Boy do some of our letterwinners do a lot of complaining.

Yeah but when the school hired Kill (and Fridge) they did so knowing it was a band-aid. They never went out and got the right guy for the coordinator jobs. So in a sense, it is all on RU, and it is absolutely a bad situation. Hopefully the school goes out and gets it done this time. The names being thrown around suggest they are ready to do what it takes.

Conspiracy theory. Perhaps Gary is implying there was behind the scenes tension btw Ash and Kill and maybe Kill did not leave for health reasons alone.

Dear Gary,

1. Life is hard sometimes.
2. That which doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.
3, Learn to roll with the punches.
4. We all face obstacles in life.
5. Many of us overcame and continue to overcome more formidable obstacles in the game of life that make your rant seem petty, as it pertains to playing a game. And we don't whine. We press on.
6. Be thankful you received a free education for playing a game.
7. If not for the coaching change, you would not have had the luxury of playing for one of the finest offensive minds in football, Ralph Friedgen. But you see this as a problem. SMH.
8. If not for the conference change, you would not have had a chance to play on one of the best stages in college football-the Big 10. Yet you somehow see this as a negative. SMH.
9. Learn how to take lemons and make lemonade. It will get you far in life. When you pour a glass half way, see it as half full, not half empty.
10. See your future. Be your future. Make, make your future. Stop dwelling in the past.

So if you take away one of his numbers from each category, he would be happier if we stayed in the AAC, with Kyle Flood and Drew Mehringer as coaches ... right? Continuity

At the "head table"??? Yeah, uhm, not quite. Appreciate Gary for what he accomplished while here but let's not get crazy (and I'd like to think that he would tell you the same...).

Leave the dude alone! He led us to some great wins and gave his heart and soul to RU. In my book, he can vent all he wants. Do any of you guys in this thread know what’s its like to go thru coaching changes and or changes in systems? I did it once in college and it was miserable. He is more preaching about stability anyway in my opinion.

He's entitled to his opinion. Coaches only care about themselves. The Student athletes have a right to be pissed off when their futures and playing careers are not taken into consideration when coaches come in and leave the program. No different than if you had a different manager at work every year like a revolving door.

...and that manager was incompetent, and you were blamed for their bad results.

I don't think they saw Kill as a band aid and they did not foresee him having more seizures. But they did not that it was a possibility. Either way I agree that the names being thrown around are much better this time around. I would love to have a steady coaching staff for 3 years to see what can be accomplished.
