Good Lord. I don’t know if I should feel overjoyed, relieved or pissed? I think it is a combo right now. Credit for not giving up after a disaster in the first half.

There was never a doubt in my mind once during this game that our guys would pull it off.

HAHAHA!

Why pissed?
Because we did so many bad things to keep them in the game. I honestly thought we would win by double digits coming in. A win by 1 counts as much as a win by 50, but NU had the best team coming in and in some phases of this game we were very poor. Bottom line is NU won, so it’s a good day even if this really exposed a lot of ongoing issues . Now isn’t the time to rain on the parade,

Welcome to the world of college football. That’s literally every team in the country save maybe the top 5. Coming back down 28-13 with no momentum was legit!!

So you’re ready to keep him?
Of course. I’ve said all year long 6-6 is a solidly successful season and would be ground to keep him without reservation. I still have all the exact concerns about his roster building I did all year, but this was a good bounceback season and he deserves to stay. And I’m happy he achieved it! I hope we give him a lot more resources and our rosters get better and better! He’s a good and likable man.

Nice win by the Cats basically won by Stone/offense/receivers. We give up way too much on kick returns and flubbed one ourselves so special teams not so special today. Great effort by Stone and generally solid pass protection by our o-line. A game we should have won and put away early but a disaster 2nd Q let Minnie back in. Great effort in the 2nd half for the win. Always enjoy beating Fleck. Does this win insure Braun’s job? He’s a good guy, liked his emotional post-game interview. Go Cats!

Incredible pass pro, that Mn team gets after the QB and has a stud rusher in Smith, who did NOTHING

Not over yet. I think we have a decent shot to beat Illinois.

Don’t mind that this could be the last NU football game at a ballpark for awhile. I wasn’t a big fan of having football games at Padres Petco Park. These baseball venues don’t have great site lines for football games. The worst idea we had here for a “unique” sports venue was a San Diego State basketball game on the deck of an aircraft carrier. That was a disaster because of the wind and rolling deck. Not a great idea.

I would add Stone to that list who won the game. Funny how his success is correlated with protection.
The announcer at the game said that northwestern has some of the fewest sacks in the country. They have given up only three in the last six games. Minnesota's pressure actually wasn't terrible, stone just did a good job of evading it.
