Cal is playing Collins exclusively at the 4 because he has to play Ware as Oscar's backup for whatever reason. This puts him in situations where he has to handle/shoot from the perimeter, far away from his strength of finishing around the rim.

If Cal loves playing Collins so much he should just use him as Oscar's backup.
Tho I guess his love affair with Ware affects that too much lol.

If he went to UT or Auburn, we wouldn't want to play against him because he would be in the hands of good coaches to properly develop him and he would be killing us down low. As I previously stated, Oscar is the only player who Cal appear to develop. However, he seems to have regressed this season. Oscar should have dominated this team.
I wish I could disagree with you, but sadly, you're correct.

Yeah, I have something positive.

We get one of you idiots every year, but more times than not, eventually you end up on the same side of the fence that I'm on. So be cateful what you say now while you’re still pumping Cal's shaft.

So, it's more of a fact than a positive, but that's splitting hairs, because I'm pretty POSITIVE you're going to regret some of the crap you’re saying now.
No I won't. You really don't read well do you? For the 1 millionth time, I dont like the way Cal has done some things and the offense looks awful. I do not pump his shaft or defend everything he does. I merely support him because he is the coach of this team. What is so hard to understand about that?

Wait, wait, wait, is this Bassfan? Has to be.

Either way, you do you, if you want to stroke Cal's shaft JUST because UK hired him, well, you're the one that has the issue.

But you definitely shouldn't be attacking others for their opinions when your opinions are based on who Mitch f'ing Barnhart has coaching this team. That's just stupid in my book.

I don't see why we have to see certain players on this team. There's some talent here but there's other players that are just complete black holes. Yet Cal continues to play them.
I'm glad to see you're finally starting to see the light.

Welcome.

I don't have any way to answer that.

But you're either there or adding to the stream numbers.

Either way, they're making money off you. And making money off you is the entire goal of college athletics. If they got your dollar, they've got your support.
the Bellarmine game wasn't considered good enough to even merit a nationally televised viewing on a standard channel - essentially the network is acknowledging this wasn't worth the effort

where your argument really fails is that by this performance , in the aggregate, its actually cost the UK program more because it will be harder to sell tickets and have fans viewing the games later on. Tonight's game damaged the UK brand.

I wouldn't expect you to get that given your line of reasoning on here tonight

The announcers all game losing their minds over Bellarmine's offense............the offense that scored a grand total of 41 points tonight lol.
For all the passing Bellarmine doesn't seem to get a lot of good shots. There is something missing in that offensive scheme and I don't think it's the passing. Maybe more cutting and looking for shots when available instead of always running the clock down before you get serious about trying to find a shot?

It's one of those offenses IMO that looks good but not very effective. Then again maybe if it was ran by a more talented team it would work.

But offensive efficiencies of 78th, 81st and 156th this season isn't going to get it done. It might in their conference, but it's not going to work against any good power conference team.

Wheeler is our best player on offense. At least he knows how to get open for a 3 point shot.

Somehow, he is open for a 3 point shot on every possession.

Don't tell me Cal can't get shooters an open look.
I’m not sure whether this is sarcasm or you’re unaware that opposing teams leave Wheeler open and want him to shoot.

I've been saying this pretty much the entire season tho lol.

I know people think I'm one of these Cal lovers, but I'm critical of him as well when I feel he's ****ed up.
Nah, just wait until Cal finishes us off this year with another embarrassing loss in the NCAAT, you'll be over here in the foxhole with me. Give it time.

For all the talk about Wheeler and 3s, he's shooting a decent 35% coming into this game. If he keeps shooting at that clip, teams will have no choice but to at least respect the shot and defend him and that might open the lane up.

On the other hand we have Jacob Toppin shooting 21% from 3. He's already taken more 3s this season than he did all of last year and the previous year.

On a team with CJ, Reeves and Wallace who has also shot well from 3, I never want to see a Toppin 3. EVER.

When you consider how poorly this team played tonight as well as other nights, I don't understand the attempt to call out one or two players. The entire team performed badly tonight.

They're leaving him open on purpose.
Will never happen.
after the first five minutes I started looking for screens in the first half because I did not remember any . None the last 15 minutes of first half .
Not sure how you expect to get a spot shooter open who cannot create his own shot without screens .
I had a business call part of second half but don’t remembef more than one or two . Could have missed some I hope .

He isn't as hungry as he was when he first arrived.
Yeah last year there wouldn’t be a play where he wasn’t going all out, I gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and say it conditioning because Oscar’s deserves and has earned that, but if the problem is still here in 2 weeks, then it may be time to seriously look at things

He's been serviceable. Not the person we want taking the shots.. but how many times did CJ pass back to him? I gotta Give Wheeler credit, he's not afraid.

I keep hearing that about Wheeler

I want him afraid, I want him careful, disciplined, playing within the margins

that's what we need from a point guard. The last thing we need is Wheeler letting it "all hang out" at PG

Wheeler plays like a seventh grader who cares about how many point he has during the game instead of doing what we need from him. Take care of the ball and find the open man.

He does not let the shot clock buzz, especially when he ends up with the ball back in his hands with 4 seconds left.

Remember the TWO violations against Wisconsin ?? At least, he’s nit letting that happen.

Wheeler has one of the best assist rates in all of D1.
And he's done that for the past 4 years.
Wheeler is many things but he can never be accused of not finding the open man.

Well, glad we got the loss. Not a good game at all. I give it a D.

I did like that things flowed much better for us in the 2nd half. Idk if we were just coming out flat or what. Our defense looks pretty good this early too.. idc who the team is but holding a team to 40ish is still solid.

We just gotta get the lineups right. Hoping that Reeves opening up the floor will see him with more PT.. while the minutes for Ware and Collins just needs to be reduced.

Just saw a stat on the espn ticker, 21 points at halftine was the least amount of points UK has scored since 2018.
That means our 9-16 team never labored to score as bad as this team did tonight. Ouch.

FWIW tho the game only had 59 possessions.

Obviously 60 points in 59 possessions vs a team that has a horrible defensive efficiency isn’t good at all but it wasn’t completely as bad as people are making it out to be.

As bad as we shot the first half we had an effective FG% of 48%. We also rebounded 41% of our misses.

Had we not turned the ball over on nearly 1 in 4 possessions, it wouldn’t have been awful at all

But that's all Cal knows how to coach. He either doesn’t care, or hasn’t figured out that you have to have an effective offense, with structure, to win anything in todays game.
Good offense will beat good defense more times than not when your opponent can look at you eye to eye.
We struggled to score against a very unathletic and small team and that can’t continue.
Cal had Wheeler, Ware and Collins in the game. That tells you everything you need to know. He's playing mind games with everyone and it needs to stop.
