Glad she didn't do any political crap. And she lip sync'd some, but also sang some as well. That's not easy production.

I am guessing this will be viewed very highly.
lol @ "viewed very highly". You really are Spicoli.

I'm not a huge fan, but I respect her talent and creativity. She crushed it tonight and as far as I could tell it was all live singing, not lip syncing. Most internet accounts are saying it was all live. And she's on the record as despising lip syncing:

“I don’t think it’s cool to lip sync. I’m not judging if people do, because it’s everybody’s own style of what they decided, the type of artist they will be. I think if you pay money for a ticket to see a show that the artist should f*cking have some pipes and sing their records for you.”

Part of it was live and part lip synch. Let's see you or your country singer move from above the stadium, fly down and sing live hanging from wires. The performance was tremendous, and I'm not even a fan.
Artists that have to use gimmicks maybe aren't so great after all. We can agree to disagree. Her performance could have been just as great without it.

Well then you need to go back and rewatch the performance. The parts that were lip synched were way off. She definitely had a live mic. Just like the others said, you can't jump from the rafters and dance like that and sing live. Again, it was a great show. She is immensely talented (as shown by the piano portion). Based on your regular music posts, just surprised you don't think she lip synced.

This crap is laughable. Likely you have a worse physique and zero talent. Easy to hate.

She's in terrible shape. Besides, I didn't say anything about her talent. She's very talented. She just needed to keep a shirt on and it would've been better.

One last thing, sure I can't sing, but she couldn't do my job either. There are many talents.

I don't think she lip-synched, but am not 100% sure. I know she doesn't approve of it.

Good show, lots of entertainment value and energy. Better than Springsteen a few years ago

Super Bowl plays around the world. I think NFL wants a visual "spectacle". Katy Perry on a lion. Beyonce shaking her can like a maniac. People cant all understand English but they can watch all the sizzle. Its like Olympic ceremonies now. For me Prince was the last good show - an actual musician playing Purple Rain in the rain.

The NFL always hypes the fact the Super Bowl is shown worldwide. But I've done lots of travel all over the world, and the last three years watched the Super Bowl in China. I have never met a foreigner with one iota of interest or knowledge of American football, let alone the Super Bowl.

That is so true. The NFL wants to go international, but there just is no level of interest.

I've definitely come across people that watch football. It may just be people that have more of an interest in American culture in general - plenty of friends in Taiwan, my tour guide in Egypt, fellow tourists from Germany and Australia (Aussies just get around so much). They've all told me that they like American football, but most "don't really understand the rules"... but agree its more of a minority interest in general overseas.

APKnight: "Very predictable and tired songs. Sorry."
So she sings a medley of some of her most famous songs and they are predictable and tired? Of COURSE they're predictable: did you want her to sing opera arias or broadway show tunes?

We have different definitions of being in shape I guess. Again, I think she's super talented and did well but when someone pointed out that she was in great shape I thought it went a little too far when everyone I was watching the game with noticed that she was a loose in the cage

Mexico, Germany, Italy (where Chas Dodd plays) - UK obviously. Wasn't really thinking of China, North Korea, New Guinea etc lol

"We observed a growing base for the game in Europe that is deeper and more passionate than we expected, to the extent that each country has created its own brand of the sport: disciplined and efficient in Germany, fiery and emotional in Italy and a game of the people in Sweden. Those were just the three stops we made out of the more than two-dozen countries in Europe with American football leagues, comprising about 1,000 teams.

“It’s a little bit like an iceberg,” says 49ers coach Jim Tomsula, who spent nine seasons with NFL Europe, which included his first head coaching gig, for the Rhein Fire in Germany. “We’re looking at the tip here in the States, but there’s a whole bunch under the water over there. There are a lot of things set up in Europe that I don’t think people understand.”

Except for the lip synch, she did good. A country singer would never lip synch. Sad that a great singer did that.

Definitely not all "synched" and I call ********. I thought she did a great job and, while keeping her specific politics out of it, the patriotic opening was a great touch!

The type of performances she does can't be handled by a skin and bones model. It isn't walking up and down a run way.

True. But the performance was great. Try hanging 100+ feet in the air with a harness. You can barely breathe let alone sing. And since when is a Super Bowl halftime show a venue for "artists?" If I want to see an artist perform, I'll pay money to go to a concert and/or a more intimate setting like a theatre to enjoy his or her work. I don't look to the Super Bowl show (20 minutes long if that) as a place for artistry.

It was a neat spectacle but the canned lip synching was a bit much. Music purist in me cringed.

My pre-teen girls found it fun. The fact that she didn't actually jump from the roof and the opening song was a pre-taped takes a little away but she did actually have to stand up there at some point to film that part (even if it wasn't live). Overall, I thought she did a good job.

The nitpicking is hysterical.

Elbows too pointy.

Didn't get enough air on her jump.

Used cables to lower her down, should have done it freeform.

Sang only hits.

Wore white after Labor Day (wouldn't have been caught dead in that outfit, BTW!!)

Sang This Land is My Land -- TOO POLITICAL!!

Dudes, it's a day later. If you didn't like it, your life should probably move on.

It's more popular (but still not very) in the English speaking countries. Traveling in December I met a Canadian with a huge Steelers tattoo and a New Zealander who followed the Giants and Clemson.

My understanding is the rooftop opening with the drones was taped just in case it was raining. She was wearing glitter and jewels around her eyes that she wasn't when she descended. Don't think they would open the roof for half time if it was raining.

I believe it was because FAA regulations prevent having a swarm of drones flying over a packed stadium, at night.
